  • im from skelmersdale

  • we did this at my drama place and i got to play Mrs Johnstone which i was really nervous about so my best mate bought me a ticket to go see this in liverpool with my hero in Melanie C + I also got to go backstage + meet her it was amazing

  • I'm doing this at my school this year and am lucky to only be in the chorus but it is so much fun!!

  • I saw this in London in geez...I guess it was 1997 or 1998. My high school did it the next year. I love this show.

  • For an American school you did well with the accents. But i guess a Liverpool accent is one they can do. To most Americans if you're from England you either speak like the Queen or The Beatles!

  • How does a high school put on this musical well (as it should be done)?

  • my favourit. i love it.

  • this is really good, we're doing our production of this in a few weeks, and even though we're working hard, I honestly don't think we'll reach this quaility, 'cause we're a little rushed. (y)

  • lol, they dropped the suitcase!!

  • I did this in April, and I was Micky!!! It was amazing

  • this is really good!!

  • Mrs. Johnstone has a fabulous voice!

  • Lool this is great ! Great work guys

  • where u in this?

    if soo,

    who did u playy?

  • ahhh .. i played ms johnstone a few years ago such a great part to do!! i really do miss it ;(

  • I'dve liked to have seen the tragic last ten minutes of this production :] acting and singing is pretty good

  • Im doing this at my school and i am Linda and i am soooo scared because i have to kiss this well Fit boy and i get sooo nervous.

  • i performing this at my school and im playin mrs.johnstone

  • Good luck. I went in for Mrs. Johnstone but this other girl got chosen because she sang a better song than me. I was annoyed but they cast me as linda so i can't moan i get to kiss a fitty so.

  • hey, we did this production this year! Only, we had a lot more people on stage during bright new day. Our musical director would absolutely not let anyone be behind, before or otherwise out of time on the music, otherwise she would eat us...i had a nightmare about her.

    :|

  • this is brilliant ..

i am doin it at colelge lol any pointers ?

    im playin mickey x

  • for christ sake stop your carping on, about this n that its an amateur production and its brilliant -well done guys

  • why is there no sound?

  • i went and saw it in lndan today and its way better than this

  • Obviously .. this is only an AMDRAM production .. the one in London is proffesional

  • The musics a bit quiet but other than that it seems quite good,

  • I saw it in London too, I loved it!

This is great by the way!

  • I saw it in London too. It was actually amazing and made me cry loads lol. Fantastic!!

  • i watched this in london it was sik

  • our school did this, i am the lighting techinician. i think this is a goood go at doing it but i bet you couldnt fit a cast of 40+ into it like we did!!

  • isnt that women paying the mum julie from coronation street

  • FANTASTIC PLAY!!

  • I love this song. And in my personal opinion Mrs. Johnstone wouldn't look very Marilyn-esque by this point anyway, because she has aged and changed so much ('by the time that I was 25 I looked like 42.')

    Yeah, just my opinion. xx

  • How come Mrs Johnson isn't blonde - she HAS to be otherwise the marylin monroe thing doesn't work at all!!

  • It's never implied that Mrs Johnstone looks like Marilyn Monroe, only parts of her. :)

  • It is implied actually, "he told me I was sexier than marylin monroe" "they said the bride was lovlier than marylin monroe" "the judge said i reminded him of marylin monroe" and her signiture look it fluffy blonde hair. Wouldn't have killed them to get a blonde wig...the whole tragic aspect is that they equate this tragic downfall with that of marylin monroe.

  • ok, I'm just not sure how a comparison to someone who *is* blonde, makes the subject also blonde?

  • Ahh the whole thing in blood brothers is that they keep referring to marylin monroe and yes it's not all about her blonde hair of course, but that was her trademark look and it's traditional for mrs johnstone to also have that look.

  • Bullshit. There was more to MM then her hair. This refers to a sexy woman. In that time people used to refer to MM because she was 'in' then. So even if you didn't have blonde hair, you could be 'like MM'.

I saw this with a redhaired, plumb woman as Mrs. Johnston and it worked wonderful. She's a quite simple minded woman so if someone tells her she looks like MM, she might even believe it or like the compliment. So don't think to tight.

  • OMG YES OF COURSE there was more but her physical appearance, being blonde was half of it - if you've ever seen it done professionally SHE HAS BLONDE HAIR. It just makes more sense. OF COURSE there was more but Marylin;s signiture look it blonde so THERE FFS.

  • I saw it on saturday, Mrs johston didnt have blonde hair, its not essential for her to.

  • this video upsets me, just because my own schools musicals suck, this clip outclasses my schools last show on both a show-quality, acting, singing and technical level, well done! I would love to do this show.

  • not bad. great voices, but elephany feet or what, am sorry but ur feet were louder than the singing.

  • this is great! definetly better than the 1 my school has done...wish someone could put my school's ver. on youtube

  • Do you think Girls schools in England would be able to do this?

  • Yeah!

I go to a Girls School in England and we're doing an abbreviated version for our GCSE performance exam.

    I play Linda :)

  • it is copyrighted though, ur meant to be a stage school to do it. my official fave musical now after seeing it in may!

  • very good

  • this is good but Mrs Johnstone singing in a Liverpool accent is starting to do my head in! i no its her character but still

  • well what accent do u want her to sing wi ..... scottish??? London.....Yorkshire ???

  • Oh Bright New Day Were Moving Away Were Starting All Over Again My Drama Group Did This Production :P It Was Awsome

  • good ... just a little slow.

  • tbh, this is one of the most amazing renditions of this song in a high school performace ive seen. the staging is clever, directing is good, everyone stayed in role through the whole thing, very good! =]
