Hi Pinky! I made your recipe tonight and I have to say I am super impressed!!! I used it on a load of dishes and mine came out sparkling clean! The only thing different that I did was use white vinegar in my rinse aid receptacle. Thank you for sharing your recipe, I am so excited! Not only will this save me lots of money, this is also very natural and you know exactly what your dishes are being washed with! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH PINKY!!!! Love your videos!!!
This is a great idea Pinky, but I've been using this for about a month now and unless I pre-wash everything really well, it's just not getting the job done. I'm also getting cloudy metal utensils and am using the vinegar as the rinse agent. I REALLY wanted this to work... :-(
@usmoshers As an after thought - what do you think about adding TSP to the recipe? (Trisodium phosphate) A 16oz box is about $3-4 at the hardware store. I'm going to pick some up the next time I'm there & will let you know how it turns out.
I'd love to see your glasses after washing them in this. It's the only thing that makes me a little hesitant ~ when I buy the cheaper brands at the store they just don't get the glasses sparkly.
I'm STILL gonna try this, though, because I see the price of Cascade and wonder what kinda gold they're grinding up to put in it :o) compared ounce-to-ounce to regular dish soap which is very inexpensive!!
Great video Pinky! Straight to the point and not too long. I've been researching ways to save money on products and this one I'll have to make. I've already switched to homemade laundry detergent and I can easily make this because it has two similiar ingredients (Washing Soda and Borax).
Great vid! Thanks! What's the song you got playin? I'm gonna try this cept I'll use actual citric acid since I also use it to clean our espresso machine..
Don't forget to put vinegar in the rinse compartment
@iTerpy - Awesome! I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do. You can also add white vinegar to the rinse compartment to make your dishes extra sparkly.
@lalithasridhar - @lalithasridhar - It's Kosher salt and yes, it's used for cooking. You can find it where you find regular salt. The brand I bought is Morton's, the same as standard table salt. Also, the Borax and washing soda are the same ingredients used in the laundry powder.
Love your vid... the music is great not to loud I hear you well... makes it feel more homey... oh and thanks for the info...

I'm sorry but I tried this and it leaves my dishes and silverware cloudy. I had to use clear vinegar to get them sparkling again.

@smccain47 - I'm sorry this didn't work out for you. My suggestion would be to add vinegar directly to the rinse agent compartment.

For the record Pinky you can get citrus acid and any place that sells cheese making supplies or they sell it by the pound on Ebay. Love your eyes...
