  • Happy 2012 and thanks for all the vids to keep the music of this prolific poet musician artist going. Dylan helped me get through trying times.

  • Pro-Ject makes great turntables. You're going to enjoy yours for years to come. I have had a Pro-Ject table in my system since 2001 and I have no desire to change. Very nice system overhaul, in general! Congratulations!

  • A fantastic Christmas extravaganza, Alex! Your new stereo looks absolutely fantastic! I'd love to hear what it is capable of once you get your preamp. Hope you had a Merry Christmas, my friend...

  • Nice deck. You are definitely going in the right direction.Enjoy the deck and buy loads of records.Don't get too hung up on upgrading your hifi.Hope you're having a great holiday.

  • Hi again..when I listen to CDs the volume is at around 10/11... On my deck I have to have vol at around double that( my deck has pre amp built in, it's one of those cheap USB decks).. Did you try your old deck with the Cambridge?...good luck..let us all know

  • Cool I like the turntable looks very sleek . Judging by what you said I think our dads are similar in the geeky stereo stuff. I like the speakers also, I know what you mean about the better sound quality . Thanks for sharing your new system.

  • Looks amazing. Congratz!!

  • That's an awesome turntable. I hope you don't mind my making a request to see the final setup and see how you did everything. I have a terrible belt turntable and I'd like to upgrade at some point, I would just like to hear more of your thoughts on the setup and if you could suggest if the preamp is good or not, etc. Great videos, hope you had a great Chirstmas!

  • I've actually got two Debut III's now after this Xmas (my wife got me one for the living room as well), and I can't speak highly enough about them. Really happy for you man! You'll probably notice your music sounds a bit more balanced and clear. Those Ortofone cartridges are fantastic! Congrats!!!

  • Real nice set up there ..I'm looking into a new turntable and a pro- ject or Rega are my two choices..if your amp has a phono input then you don't need a pre-amp..but I guess you know that now..did you/ your parent order on line or buy through a store?..take care ..Stevie uk

  • @stevieju The Project is a beautiful table, I will be able to comment on the sound in a few days. Basically, I plugged it into the phono input and played a record, and it played really really quietly. Like you had to turn it all the way up to hear it properly. So me and my Dad figured a Preamp would boost the sound. Were we wrong?

  • Very nice. I wish you all the best with it when you get it going. Sometimes better things come to those who wait even longer. I know that you will be testing it out with Dylan. I may suggest putting on The Queen is Dead for starters. {smile} Whatever you play first it will sound amazing~

  • @Paneeks1960 Haha thanks Rob. I'l probably play Smile first actually, then some Dylan :) I'm confused about this preamp now. I bought it because when i played a record, the sounds was so low you had to turn it right up to full to even hear it a little. So we figured a preamp would boost the sound, but I'm not sure if thats what it is or not. Any idea?

  • @MrDylanRecords I wish I could help you. I can suggest asking you if you have a ground for it? Or, are you going through the phono line? The decibels are usually boosted through the phono line on the receiver for louder sound. Have you tried going through an aux and see if the sound is the same there? Also, make sure your cartridge is connected properly. You may ultimately need a pre-amp with a phono line if the receiver does not have one. Keep tweaking Alex, you will get it. Good luck~

  • Good stereo adds so much to the expirience. When I changed mine few months ago it completly blew my mind. I used to have a familiar Cambridge amp, served it's pourpuse great! The thing about the preamps is that now, when most people don't own a record player, there is no reason to include it in an amp, because it just adds to the cost of the amp. As far as I know all older ones have them alredy in.

  • I had a Debut 1 they sound really nice, but i tired of having to swap the belt to go from 33 to 45. I'm really surprised that Cambridge Audio amp doesn't have a phono input.

  • @DocStrangelyStrange Ahh yeah, that is a bit of a bummer. It does have one, but when i connected it to that and played a record, the sound was so low i had to turn it up to max to even hear it a little. So I thought that a preamp was needed to boost the sound?

  • Very nice! Here's wishing you a speedy delivery and a Happy New Year, probably in that order.

  • Great system! Am very jealous haha. Merry Christmas :)
