The military, police and fire fighters, roads maintainence, etc. that are paid for by taxes aren't so much theft as monopolized and involuntary services. Paul should understand the distinction between redistribution of taxes, which is theft, and govt services that benefit the taxpayer.
And Spitzer did deliver a zinger on the 16th Amendment point, which made it federal income tax constitutional. Maybe Paul should look into the non-ratification of the 16th Am., which has been documented.

He concedes Paul argues a logical way of thought, and is a very principled man but that he disagrees with Paul on many issues. Some of us in the class argue Paul's case - this is how he is. But obviously I like Spitzer even if I am on Paul's side. He's a generous professor and incredibly intelligent. Everyone here is just angry at him because he actually debates Paul.

He concedes Paul argues a logical way of thought, and is a very principled man but that he disagrees with Paul on many issues. Some of us in the class argue Paul's case - this is how he is. But obviously I like Spitzer even if I am on Paul's side. He's a generous professor and incredibly intelligent. Everyone here is just angry at him because he actually debates Paul.

I will pay my taxes because I want good roads to drive on, and so others can readily access my businesses and make me more money.

And corporations need to pay taxes b/c all their technologies and the math they use, everything comes from these publically funded university scientists and their research ventures to advance knowledge, ie. your funded endeavors and investments, corps and businesses make money on, and thus, need to pay their taxes, b/c they owe society.

But federal government has no authority because the law does not give it the damn power to that! Good school? Hah, don't make me laugh, I live in CA and I know all too well about public education "success." The income tax may be debatable, but what about the capital gains taxes? This is something that Ron Paul never addresses. Taxation is theft? How so, if some of our taxes actually help those lesser off, people who are NOT lazy, but working 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet. Ron Paul is a 19th century guy, who has learned some very valuable lessons from world history, but he's very selective in this regard. Without public education to start with, Dr. Paul would not be where he is today.
