@Onemanband77 Thanks Very much John We appreciate that very much. We have had lots of people telling us how old , they were and what they were doing at the time. We both love American History it`s fascinating
Cheers Paul and Jim, Wow !!!!! This is so very moving you've touch my heart Indeed ! A Grand Magnificent Musical Video and a certain favorite of mine ! I remember my mom playing this Kennedy album when I was 3 years old and she could'nt stop the tears from rolling down her face and I realized the sadness of of that horrific day. You guys are truly Amazing ! A Perfect "10" in my book for a Phenomenal Performance !!!!! I Applaud You my friends !!!!! Bravo !!!!! Peace Always ! Chaz
Brought tears to my eyes. We needed a song like this for years. Probably the worst day of my young life up to then. Bravo for your inspiration! Awesome video to match your heartfelt lyrics. Also check out the Phil Ochs tribute, "That Was the President". Thank you for yours. JerseyGuy, (Singer of all songs Elvis in "my way," not his) only on CBSEye
@1958wvpicker Thanks very much Rich. Many people of our generation can still recall this event so vividly, that it proves that it was undoubtedly, the most significant moment in recent history.
A wonderful tribute and very well done, Paul and Jim! It is always difficult to watch some of that film...it still makes me so sad. We all still have discussions about where we were on that day...Great job! <3 Babs
I missed this by a few years seeing as I hadn't been born yet, but my Grandma still has a picture of President Kennedy on the wall (front and center as it were) , and above all other pictures by about 2 inches. Camelot is not dead! We have to keep it alive, and only we (the common ppl) can IMHO Thank you Paul and Jim 8-)
@WambliPeta Thanks George. We remember that President Kennedy was, and still is the most loved and respected President ever, over here. He was thought of as a King rather than just a president. Who knows, one day Camelot will rise again. :-)
Oh my good god .. this guys .. this is the best thing you have ever done, in my opinion anyway, very very deep tune .. and most floyd like, love this, thumbs up n fav'd, classic :)
That was really great guys. Had a cool kinda Pink Floyd vibe going on with it. I too was about 9 when this tragic event occurred. We were in the lunch room at school and they announced it over the PA system. A very sad and depressing time. I remember the Beatles hitting big not long after this. They couldn't have arrived at a better time. :)
@purplehazed54 Thanks a lot Bill. We are amazed that nearly everybody has given us their own personal account of that awful day, and how it is so clear in their minds even after all these years.
Hey, Paul and Jim, I remember this like it was yesterday. I was nine years old at the time J. F. K. was assassinated, but my memories are still vivid. Very sad time. Anyway, this is a great song and video! I really enjoyed watching and listening. :) Janet
@onewomanandsomesongs Thanks Janet . It was exactly 2 months before Pauls 9th birthday to the day. It is something that was impressed on our minds as kids that we will never forget. They had a special Mass at church the following sunday and many of the congregation were in tears. That`s how much JFK was loved and respected.
@nllleonard Thanks very much NAncy . We are amazed about all the things that people are telling us . Like where they were, and how they reacted when they heard the sad news on that day. Most of them were just young kids as we were, but they can still remember it all quite vividly.
So sad...I remember breaking down crying on the stairwell of my elementary school as a 12 year old when it happened...My parents brought me to the Democratic club to help distribute flyers for JFK's election as a 9 year old...he was a part of everyone's life in a positive way unlike what we have to endure today...nice going guys!
@larosity Thanks Larry we are getting some amazing recollections and stories from folk, and yours is no exception. JFK is always remembered with great affection in the U.K., and we know that he was the peoples President. He had more, dignity and integrity than all of his sucessors put together.
I just started a novel (eventually to become a movie) by Stephen King about a guy going back in time to stop the assassination. I am not far into it, but one of the character suggests that many others died because of JFK's assassination. Some were assassinated (RFK and MLK) and others died due to the acceleration in Vietnam. It's just fiction, of course. What is not fiction is how good this song is. Well done!
@songblurred That sounds very interesting Don .We hope that you enjoy this Novel. The song was written from the prospective of two naive eight year old kids, who knew nothing of politics and conspiracy theories. We just believed what we saw and took it at face value. Thanks very much for your Kind comment
Hi Paul and Jim wow excellent song although I was only five years old I remember I was round my Grand parents house and they were watching the news on their old black and white TV and although I was so young seeing this video footage again it still seems only like yesterday extraordinary work my friends thank you from Phil .
@rockingphil58 Thanks very much Phil It`s amazing what you remember when you are very young. It was the day before the first transmission of Doctor Who.
I was 10 years old and remember us being told in a school assembly and how the day went on as we watch the tv for the day as the news came in. thanks for writing this song.
@garywittmann Thankyou Gary it was Jim`s Idea, and a very good one too. It was one of those defining moments in history which should never be forgotten.
This really brings back the memories. I was in military school at the time. They called a special formation and told us. We were all in shock. It's hard to believe that it's been almost 50 years ago. I was 16 or 17.... Never forget that day...makes you wonder how differently things might be now had he lived...
@netguider Thank you Randy .It is really nice that folk are recalling memories of this awful event and telling us of their own personal experiences. All we know that JFK was the most admired and respected World leader at that particular time, and is still remembered with great affection
Thanks ,I remember this so clearly,I was 14 yrs old when it happened.thanks for posting .I was in school when the teacher came in and told us the president was killed.....JIM
@cheekychickenhead Thanks a lot Tam. I remember that week well. Our Dad had just bought a new television
