  • That rule actually wasn't put into OFFICIAL effect until 2006 when the Code of Points made it mandatory. Before that it was mostly cautionary.

  • SHIT, that was perfect :)

  • I love her run and the way she lands her vault :)

  • That was enacted after Sydney I believe.

  • this was before that rule came into effect.

  • Distance, but it was pretty much perfect.

  • She didn't have much distance, but I agree this was a beautiful vault.

  • Why would they get penalized for a mistake made by the people who set up the vault?

  • it was enacted sometime after the sang lan accident at the goodwill games i believe.

  • that was 2001

  • Wasn't that rule enacted after the '96 Olympics?

  • @QueenieQue

The rule was put into effect in 1989 when American Julissa Gomez missed her foot at a Japanese meet; she crashed full speed into the horse. She was paralyzed, put into a coma, and died in 1991.

  • At least the judging wasn't like Seoul, where everybody got a 10 or a 9.9, if they didn't have any "major" (fall) breaks, and even then the judges didn't deduct the full .5 for a fall (Shoushunova ef floor, anyone??)

  • She scored 9.812... Jipped

  • @Dunntosh That score was too low!

  • Does n e one know her score for this??
