I thought HBP was the best made out of all the Potter movies, but I have to agree with you about it beeing rather pointless. They basically cut the entire two main plots of the book (voldemort's past and the mystery of the half-blood prince) out of the movie and focused just on a few less important sub-plots, which annoyed me. I still really enjoyed it though :)
