He is a very good teacher he takes the time to *EXPLAIN* every little detail I wish my teachers in school were this good... CONGRATS your videos are great thanks...
First I want to say thanks Junkman2000 for your videos, been helping me with my truck alot. Second I have a Q, I just claybarred and waxed my truck, I've been thinking about polishing it, so is it ok to polish it after I just waxed it? Or do I need to wait till I'm due for another wax?
You can polish the car at any time, just realize that polishing will strip all the wax off the car. Polishing is what creates the shine in paint, not waxing. Polishing is also what removes damage from paint. So polish at will, but remember to wax afterward.
I must say that Junkman2000's videos are most informative and somewhat entertaining to watch. He has the ability to teach as well as keep the viewer interested in what's coming next. He's also quite thorough while sharing in his areas of expertise!!! Long live Junkman2000!
iv got a 87 conquest and it has not been taken very good care of its whole life. the hood was left in the sun for years and as a result it has cracked the paint. is there anything i can do to get it back to a good finish besides repainting it?
that's pretty much what i assumed lol. is there anyway i can make the fading and cracking less visible? i am planning to claybar it because it needs it BAD as i don't think it has ever been done in its 20+ year life...
I noticed you said the Machine Polish is less agressive than the Swirl and Haze Remover. I understood the Adam's website to say the opposite. I'm confused now.
I thought I should start with the S&HR, then the MP, then finish with the Wax. I just bought all three with the matching pads. I thought they were color coded for the product. First Orange (S&HR), White(MP), then Gray(Wax). ???Which is correct?
This is what happens when you just watch the videos instead of reading the threads that are actually associated with these videos. None of my videos are made as stand alone tutorials. There are threads at Adam's Forums where the videos are posted. You need to go to the thread where these videos are posted and READ the thread too. This will clear up any confusion that you may have.
@STEVEOJR10 You are correct. He made a mistake and realized it after people pointed it out to him. So he made a post on forums saying you can do either way, but the SHR is the more aggressive and should be matched to the orange pad. Then followed by the less aggressive FMP on a white pad. You also don't wet the pad to dilute the SHR, you wet the pad to keep it from soaking up and wasting so much product into the pad.
Actually, what I said is you should always follow SHR with FMP, which is contrary to what I said in the video. I never posted that you could do it either way. There is only one way to do it, which is the way I explained in my corrected post.
Also, you don't wet the pad to keep it from soaking up product, you wet the pad to dilute any build up of product on the pad, as well as to keep the product from flaking.
I was wondering how the clay process..after you spray the lube on the paint and you are rubbing back and forth..do you dry the car off with a mf towel or can you rise the car off? my zaino kit said to use a towel and buff dry. what do you suggest?
After I have clayed a car, I do a total 2-bucket wash all over again. I then dry the car off and start the swirl removing process. This insures that I have removed any left over dirt or clay residue that may remain after claying.
I didn't use the "Junkman" code, but I used another code to get 10% off. I just ordered another couple pads, because I've done cars for a couple relatives the last three weeks. Thanks to your videos, my relatives have been EXTREMELY happy with the results.
Well, I never mentioned getting paid :-) It was good practice, though, and I've had requests from other people to detail their cars, since they've seen a couple I've done. My full-time job keeps me busy, but I may do some details on the weekend on occasion.
if your just an average kid washing and waxing his car is it okay to do this process...1) wash thoroughly 2) clay 3) wash again 4) wax? (that process also includes drying down with a microfiber towel of course) and also after your done waxing do you leave the extra wax thats on my hand applicator pad or do i wash it off?
When you clay the car, you are not going to remove 1 scratch or swirl. NOT ONE. Thus, doing so is just a waste of time using the routine you posted. If your car is full of swirls and scratches and the only thing that you want to do is what you've posted, you would be better off just buying some over the counter junk with a bunch of fillers in it and using that instead.
Oh yeah, I know that claying doesnt remove any scratches or swirls. I only clay when i notice the surface is rough, or its been under trees with droppings. Its a waste to clay your car every time anyways.
I'm not being mean here, just realistic. The process I'm demonstrating in these videos is for someone who is serious about correcting and protecting their paint. It is NOT for everyone and I don't even do this to the car I drive everyday. You see the condition it is in.
Save your money and time until you are ready to do it right, and you have a car that is worth the time and money to do it right. That's my honest opinion.
Good, then you can look past all my mistakes in wording (e.g. calling the backing plate a pad), country grammar and general acting goofy. Like I said in the videos, this is a "Junkman in his garage production!" lol!
Great set of videos, thanks!

There is nothing that you are going to be able to do for that paint job. It will require professional intervention.
