  • So charming, so magical! What's in the water in New Zealand to produce such amazing bands?

  • Oh fucking hell, there should be monuments of the bats on every street corner, they're just soooo damned good!!!!!!!!

  • One of the truly great unsung (no pun intended) bands of the late 80s-early 90s. Glad to hear their still at it.

  • One of their best...

  • The way Paul plays on this one is simply awesome !!!

  • Thanks for posting this!!! Brings back many great memories

  • Colin Hogg, NZ music journalist, selected this as his choice of Best Song Ever on National Radio this week.

  • Mastery Indeed!What a gorgeous song

  • I love The Bats! listen to Daddy's Highway when i wake up and before i fall asleep. cheers from America!

  • I love mistakes. They're human. This is a great performance of a gorgeous song. By the New Zealand Beatles. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you so much for posting! A much missed classic piece of kiwi music. (Lost to me through a shredded tape!)

  • Cool Bag Of Rhythm - Right On - WorldwidewelcomE - Viking -

  • awesome!

  • that mistake is so minor, just one note! a nice variation i think

  • Thank you for posting!!

  • Hah! The classic sheepish-grin-and-look-goofey-smile!

It's another one of those moments where if you bluff it and keep going, most of the audience think you're probably just doing something mildly jazzesque-ish.

Whatever - it's a great tune I don't remember catching before; and it's a great recording - with a classic moment included, too!

    Thanks for sharing it.

  • reminds me of gardening for some reason...

  • This song was borrowed for the NZ TV3, Annie Whittle hosted gardening programme, Living Earth.

  • Classic!!

  • We thought this was lost for good. Kaye's guitar lead blue had magnified into a huge mistake which has blighted her life. She feels happier now seeing it's insignificance alongside a great performance of one of Robert's best songs.

  • Yeah, I don't think it kills the spell in the slightest, Paul. Best to you & Kaye & yours!

  • The bum not that doesn't detract whatsoever. Charming performance. Please come back to the states soon--specifically Seattle. The Guilty Office is great. Cheers.
