This music is fun music. This music is GOOD. This isn't the crap you hear on the radio about sex drugs and alcohol, this is music meant to be just fun. And they accomplished that. When I look at myself, 13, and other people on youtube who are around my age, my hopes rise a bit that the country isn't entirely "corrupted". Modern artists are sending horrible messages for American children and teenagers.
If it wasn't for Buddy Holly, we might not have had the greatest band of all time - The Beatles.. they were a great inspiration to them. Thanks Buddy and the Beatles.!!!!!!
@JKere09 You don't know what sort of career they would of all had if they hadn't died..With Elvis we all know !! It's a fact it really happened and that's why he is King.
This song has been covered by EVERYBODY, I think, but nobody ever surpassed Buddy's version. FYI, Buddy was COVERING this song, which was originally recorded by the author, Sonny West, who was another West Texas songwriter. Sonny West wrote and recorded both "Rave On" and "Oh Boy" on the Atlantic label, but his versions never rocked (or charted). When Buddy Holly covered these songs, they DEFINED a new era of Rock & Roll. Jesus, if Buddy had lived, music would be TOTALLY different today.
