Starlin and mother Teresa are in the same fallen condition. Meaining that If mother Teresa was bought up the same as Starlin same environment same everthing then she probly would of done the same thing and vice versa. We are comdemned by whats in our hearts. ThatChristianKid, I don't think you deserve to go to hell. You seem like a pretty nice guy so far. Many people will compare "God" as some kind of parent - but when you hear about a 75 years old man who tied up his daughter in their basement for a mere 25 years, you shiver in disgust. Like you, this girl did nothing to deserve this - nothing she could've done would make her deserve such torture. Yet, the God whom you call good does it - not for a tiny little 25 years. Eternity.
Not to mention, is it really a sacrifice if an all-powerful deity loses his earthly body? He could just get another, if he wanted. Or, if you take the interpretation that Jesus is a separate entity from God with his own will, it still wouldn't have been much of a sacrifice. Jesus would have known that the torture and the suffering would end and he would be alive in Heaven in just a few more days. It's a greater sacrifice to die and stay dead, don't you think?
Christians generally choose the Athanasius interpretation that Jesus was Jehovah which is thoroughly unsupported Biblically. In actuality John and Paul both saw Jesus as a lower being called the Logos (Wisdom) or Kurios (Lord). John 1:1 "The word was God" should be either "The word was a god" or "the word was divine" the Greek word for god here being theos not Hatheos. Read the Apocryphal Book "The Wisdom of Solomon" written 100 yrs before Christ to see where the idea was plagarized from.
I think that a certain amount of suffering is worse than sinking into oblivion. Hence, erminal patients may choose euthanasia in the face of a degenerative disease.
WEll, it goes deeper than just believing...sure, ppl can say they are christians, but aren't going to heaven(probably), then there are ppl who are sorry for the wrong they have done in life...
I agree...but again, its all between you and god, not wat someone else percieves to see u as...like me for instance, im a christian, and im struggle with my faith everyday. If i died tomorrow, i dont know if I'd go to heaven or hell...if I ended up it hell, then I deserved it, no fussing from me

God can't die.
So Jesus never actually died, only the human body he was using.
No death = No scarifice.

I don't know a single Christian that will interpret John 1:1 as God and Jesus being seperate entities.
If "the Word was God", Jesus can't die without without God dying also.
