The DADT policy does not work, despite what the presidential republican candidates claim. By enforcing the Don't Ask/Don't Tell policy, they exclude the queer community from serving their country in the same way that heterosexual individuals do. The sexuality of service members goes unquestioned when the government needs bodies to fight and die in their war for oil, but once their bodies are not needed, the DADT policy is once again reinforced.
