Awesome from the intro all the way through. You nailed the subtle as well as not so subtle details and nuances. I love the live at the forum version, especially the intro. Thank you!
Very, very nice. I think you sound better than Three Dog Night, dude. Or just as good!! I was never crazy about The Bands version of it. Thanks for your version. It was great.
Never thought I'd find someone doing that "Forum" album organ solo on You Tube. I also played it in a cover band back in the early 70's and this really brings back memories, we did alot of 3-Dog tunes. I really enjoyed what you've done here with this song. And yeah, like you said, those were freaky lyrics!
I'm 17 and I much prefer this to anything modern; as a side note, to be honest I like Three Dog Night's rendition of magic carpet ride better than Steppenwolf's. For some reason this comes off, to me, as having so much soul its irresistible very nicely done. If you had an album out I'd get a copy.
Hello, Havanakings, I listened to your It's For You and really enjoyed it. I guess now that I am using a multi-track recorder that i could do that one too. Thank you for the very kind comments. I have no idea about why your other comments got flagged, it wasn't me. Always great to meet another 3 Dog Night fan. I do have several videos that I have done of their songs. Feeling Alright is pretty good, you might enjoy it.

Brother i promise you iam no one that you know, but iam gona pay you the biggest compliment as what you did was phenominal! I had a group back in 1969 and we did quite a few 3 dog nite songs! What you did was not an easy thing to do! The vocals wer excellent and the harmonies beautiful! We just did our 38th year reunion and had a ball! Id give anything to have you living next door to me! Oh ya guys, I forgot. Someone mentioned in a response that they missed seeing the Leslie and my wife totally agreed, so I squeezed on into the picture.......... I like it too. ;) The one in the video is turned all the way down. The Leslie that you actually hear is a 145 in my garage. It is out there so that I can turn it up. I call it the Frankenstein because it was assembled from parts that i got all over the country thru E-bay. Thanks for the encouragement men. It means a lot to me!
What was fun about doing this was that if you listen to 3DN's live version they sang the vocals really losely: timing, pitch everything. I went for a live mix sound. I TRIED to do the same thing with my version of it that they did. I studied and studied the words to this from both of their recordings + video of the song, I also checked out the band's version to try to get some of the words. I'm still not sure of what they were saying but it was fun.
Man you knocked this one out of the park! Great playing and vocals, and an oustanding mix! God I love the growl of a B3 thru a Leslie tone cabinet... Excellent Dante! Cheers my friend! :D
