Fightstar haven't broken up, and since when is the quality of a bands music measured by how many years theyve stayed together? most bands' musical output becomes stale after a few albums anyway, so isnt it better that Fightstar were to break up, instead of staying together and releasing the same old repetitive drivel, like FFAF and the rest of those bands in that great U.S "scene", that you so love?

amazing song, i actually just recently discovered this band through a movie soundtrack but its been one of my alltime favorite songs by any band for a long time and although only about 5 or 6 songs off this album are good this band is kickass and quickly became one of my favorites, this is a good mix of rock and screamo metal, that "you make me FUCKING SIIIIIICK" scream is just epic, as well as the breakdown at the end. love it. definitely gonna cover this song when i get a band started

this is the song that made me comfortable with screaming. this kind of music isn't really for me but i've been a fan since i was twelve. obviously before this, there were songs such as build an army, but i tended to skip those, so you can imagine my horror when they decided to release this as a single. but as soon as that chorus kicks in, you know its nothing less than the perfect combination.

i think linkin park were the band that got me into screaming originally... when i was 13, i listened to mostly punk/rock and then i found trivium, which was a dramatic change, but as a guitarist and drummer, i listened to the instrumental skills. then i started to like it all as a whole and got into more stuff like that. but i'll still go back and listen to stuff like Fightstar, or blink 182!

I'm fairly certain he's using mostly grit/vocal fry based screams, as a lot of screamo singers do. This is a healthy technique, and doesn't cause vocal damage so long as it's done correctly.

Actually after watching a video of him doing this live, I think you may be right, at least in part. It sounds like he's using false cord distortion with vocal fry on top.

It doesn't sound unhealthy to me, but it does have the raw sound that's associated with "wrong" screaming.

It can be done safely with practice, but a lot of people do it incorrectly and fuck their vocal cords up.
