  • they made some "minor" changes... like going from a 6.4 to a 6.7... Dmax has been around for more than a decade with the same 6.6 engine.. thats guys stupid... but then again hes getting paid to advertise ford

  • Gm is high prices in 2007 my mom tried to buy a new 2007 gmc Yukon Denali & we knew somebody who worked at the gmc dealer & we got a discount. The lease price came out to 951 a month then we went to ford to look at the 2007 ford expedition Eddie Bauer & we got one for 539. & the ford keeps it's value for along time the gmc would be worth 20,000 the ford is worth 30,000

  • The new Ford's are definitely a good truck. I don't believe the FORD will get any better diesel mileage when it comes down to it though. In this video, the Ford is using a 3:31 ratio which accounts for lower RPM's. Chevy is using 3:73. I looked up the gear ratios in the new transmissions and the ratios are similar between FORD's new 6R140 trans and the current Allison 1000 in the Duramax. It's hard to beat a Duramax/Allison combo. Ford made claims like this with the 6.4L.

They made the dmax haul ass with the load and of course your gonnna go thru fuel quicker and not have good economy, the dmax must have been doing 60-70 mph while the stroker was probably doing 50-55 which made it not go thru so much fuel and made it get better mpg. I bet if the were both going the same speed on cruise control the dmax cud have possibley won.

  • Everyone's gotta keep in mind that videos like these are partisan, and in this case, it puts Ford in the best possible light. So you really don't have anything credible here. Having said that, when it comes to heavy duty (4wd) pickup trucks, I'll take a Ford (or even a Dodge, to a lesser extent) any-day over a Chevy - Main Reason: Front Suspension. There's just so much more that can go wrong with an independent front suspension (used on the Chevy), especially the constant velocity joints.

  • They are loading to max GCWR. Gross Combined Weight Rating. This means the trailer weight plus the truck weight. It is common knowledge that the chevrolet is several hundred pounds less. It is possible that the chevrolet had a heavier trailer and still had a lower GCWR. They should just state actual trailer weight, which it sounds like they purposely avoid. Good to see tests like this, but would trust 3rd party results more.

  • @jritch85 This test you speak of is a "speed test" and the trucks were not "equal" as much think. If you think so, then you don't know much about vehicles. Check the transmission gearing and let me know what you come up with. A more equal test would have been a Ford with a 3.31 final ratio with the transmission gearing used. If interested I have the specs you can read to further help you on this.Ford is still a better quality truck all around, more power, more towing, and more than a truck.

  • I think both are great trucks, I'm actually a Ford guy but I don't think it's fair in that the Chevy was running 3:73 gears and the Ford had 3:31, to keep it fair I'd like to see them both run 3:73's.

  • I'm not hating on Ford I just think it's funny how they beat Chevy or Dodge by like 2 miles per gallon or 5 more horsepower and then pat themselves on the back for having "best in class" it's retarded. All trucks have their issues. Dodge transmissions. Chevy general working parts have problems but they build good engines. Ford poor fuel economy(I say that because most people are not going to go buy a brandnew truck and all Ford trucks suck gas like none other) and they have some other issues.

  • @justanamelol6969 Ford installed a tune on the powerstroke becuase they knew GM with their unlimited funding from the government would make the duramax more powerful than the new powerstroke, so right now GM is in the long process of designing a new diesel because they cannot match the new powerstroke, at all, they may be able to boost the power again, but it wont be emissions legal or have better MPG than the new Powerstroke. Ford just fucked with GM in otherwords

  • @justanamelol6969 7.3 killed by emissions, 6.0 was devastated by emissions, 6.4 had hardships with emissions, problem with those engines is that they were built for large commercial trucks, when they were put into smaller trucks they had to abide by the smaller truck emissions, which killed them in some way. Fact of the matter is that all of them are better than the 6.6 as long as you kept the emissions off of them, but that would be breaking the law.

  • @FordNissanChevy if you think the 6.0 was better than the duramax you are the most mislead person on earth. if you do head studs, exhaust, egr delete and pour a fuck ton of money into it then yeah it's okay, put that into a duramax and then compare and contrast. oh and gm paid their debts off if you haven't been keeping up with the news. and it was ford that had to go back and reprogram their computers because THEY couldn't match gm, and forget about ford matching the reliability of a duramax

  • @ben38619 6.0's in larger vehicles are very reliable. 6.0's problem is emissions. Duramax was designed for smaller pickups, navistar developed the 6.0 for large commercial vehicles. Emissions are different. The EGR burned the gaskets up, made the engine run really hot which therefore destroyed the motor. And Chevy programed their new duramax to put out better numbers, then ford did it to beat the new duramax numbers.

Same argument as "america's shitty fuel killed the 6.0s" no.. I run that shit in my Duramax just fine, it's Ford's shitty engineering that killed the 6.0.

  • @ben38619 I don't know how a 400hp 800lb/ft of torque truck can be a piece of shit. they didn't rush this engine out like some of the others, they spent some good time on it and its payed off. I've already seen around 25-30 of these superdutys just in my area within months so people do think their good and they are. unless you've seen it or driven them you know nothing about them. your right about videos. videos can always be different from the real thing, but true for chevy and dodge.

Get on the Ford Powerstroke forums and look under 6.7 powerstroke problems, the stories are very entertaining, not to mention those are pretty much all recurring problems. Look at jritch85 comment at the top and that will answer your question. Ford has ZERO years experience with diesels.

  • @ben38619 of course your going to say its better because you want to find every little thing that is different in the ford and say its junk because its not the same. If i had a shit ton of money, I would by both trucks, one for me and one for you. have us both test them and then switch trucks. that seems like it would be the most reasonable way to test something. that way we both drive both trucks and get a feel of how they drive.

That's why I encourage you to look at the Diesel Power Mag and PickupTrucks com tests. Third party, unbiased sources in real world applications. I like how smooth the Chevy rides and how reliable they've been, even after being judged by the cover (i.e. IFS, which performs wonderfully). (continued)

I mean the Ford has more maximum towing, but how well can Ford pull it's maximum payload compared to the Chevy? Once again, good reason to look at the two third party tests. I mean it lost, big time. I also hate feeling like I just came out of spine surgery after riding in the Ford.

  • @WillDaBeast696969 Thank you sir! Yes that is the main reason it rides like shit. It's all unsprung weight is the reason. Light duty pickups don't need a solid front axle, really. GM's IFS is very, very reliable and has much less maintenance costs than the Dodge's pile of shit front end. Have you ridden in the new LML Duramax? They ride like a Cadillac with the new hydraulic cab mounts.

  • @ben38619 very welcome my man! yeah dude the lml is soooo sick! it has a ridiculous amount of power that you can feel when u put the foot to the floor unlike the ford. sure the fords got more hp but u cant tell... my buddy just bought the new f350 and his turbo went out 3 times in the past 15,000 miles HAHA! he sold it and got the new lml. he said best buy hes ever made

That new turbo system looks innovative and all, but it looks problematic as hell, now I know it is! haha I mean the 6.4 was awesome, they put out good power, but they needed twin turbos to hang with the Chev? Lame! The LML is amazing my Dad just bought one. I showed it to him when I was working at a dealer, this was right after he bought an LMM, and he ended up buying it by the end of the week he loved it so much. Totally not like him at all either.

  • @ben38619 thats bad ass dude! my dad just bought the new ford edge. omg its a PIECE OF SHIT!! the electronics in it are so complex that they have failed... sync blows donkey dick haha and also he had to replace a piston due to a bent rod..GAY! might i add he only has 9000 miles on it
