at 1:42, after a little research, i found out he is referring to Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse. They wrote "What kind of fool am i" (grammy, song of the year, 1963), "candy man" and "pure imagination" from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, "goldfinger" and "you only live twice".
i wanted to sing this song from a karaoke version but i could not get the emotion that jimmy had done...he's the only one who can give justice to the song in my observation
i love friends of distinctions' version better

at the risk of sounding like a ridiculous cornball, I'd say that Jimmy's huge output of songs has been one long brilliant musical

the song is, of course, a classic; the performance is rare and remarkable; the before-song patter is sweet lagniappe. thanks for a great gift.
