  • should i still be thinking about getting one of these i 2012? :L

  • 0:01 - 0:018 mike hosker beatz dot com.... the hottest producer on the web

  • Why da fuck are people asking these questions? go on a damn FORUM!!!! if your really serious you would have gone to guitar center/ any other music store OR joined a fucking forum!!!! And of course it works with any of your programs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thumbs this up so dumb ass's can see this!!!!!!

  • @supercarpro cool story.

  • @rabidsnake123

Thanks, I'm trying to find a publisher.

  • Oh c'mon! For the OFFICIAL run-down of what the unit can do, Akai could have easily gotten someone who can actually play a beat to do the intro/demo. Shitz whack!

  • can u make a bass drop with it?

  • @gatorben13 You're talking about a compositional idea. Not what the controller does.

  • @ashishaya Yes. Look at around at some mpd32 videos and you'll see that many people use FL.

  • Will any of the questions below get answered?

  • Will this work with Linux Multimedia studio? Please respond i am dying to know because i really want one of these!

  • does it work with fl studio 9?

  • does this work with pro tools or fl studio ?

  • @JoeyLaurens its a midi controller so im petty sure it will

  • This guy reminds me of Eric Wareheim.

  • haha that beat was lame as fuck in the intro

  • will this run on an acer aspire 5742 laptop????

  • can the mpk49 do all this?

  • dopest shit ever its like when sega genesis came out

  • this dude is sooooooo sick at the mpd

  • whats the best software to use with this mpd?

  • Wait is dis a still sampler n do u need a software or program 2 record or is it like n mpc were u cn record without a software?

  • @justflow210 Do you know how to write the English language? And do you listen? It's very clearly stated in the video. This is a controller, not a sampler. This controls software on your computer like Live, Reason, Logic, or BFD Drums, EZ Drummer, etc.

  • Where/What can I find the best drum kit libraries?

  • akai xr20, mpd32, or akai mpk45?

  • @qkcena mpk49*

  • Hey Akai want to give me the MPD32

    No ok

  • i have a mpd24 and that is good enough for me

  • That was cheesy , guy coulda made it a lil more exciting on the live presintation haha. Sorry akai. Huge fan but damn.

  • Why do you guys comment just to hate? Let the man explain the product. Then, as the consumer, take ya ass to the store and buy it. Btw, I have the MPD 26 and its nice!

  • hey, what is the best software to use with the mpd32? for recording etc

  • this guy looks like he could be on tim and eric.

    but very helpful overview

  • anybody know any cheaper drum machines than this one that can provide some good sound too?

  • This isnt a drum machine. Its a midi controller that triggers sounds that you assign on a computer/outboard sampler. Essentialy it can produce any sound you like

  • dam his note repeat is perfect

  • As for the "jargon". If you don't know the majority of the jargon he uses than you shouldn't be looking at spending $250+ for this tool.

  • This is a great video and helped me decide to order one.

As for "FYICREW" - you are just wrong.

He's not a salesman, he introduces himself as a "product specialist" at the start of the video.

He also plays the pads at the intro (demo) - he goes over the layout of the device (fantastic) - and he demos: "note repeat", "time division", and adjusts "pad sensitivity".

Granted, he didn't create a RAP beat like every other video about the MPD32 on YouTube but I'm ok with that.

  • Newsflash: Salespeople rarely have the title "Sales person". It's usually some corporate jargon like "Product Manager" or even "Product Specialist" plus a hundred others.

  • yo, sales man dude..... USE YOUR product!!!!! you demoed it alittle but for most people and for some parts me your tech jargon is to much. turned me off from buying it. youve got alot of emerging would be artists (myself included) that know their sh1t but are still learning

  • I found the Tech Jargon was perfect.

If you don't like it don't watch it.

Don't act as if he's acting smart, those are the actual terms used for sound & production.

  • missed the point dude. i understood. but for a newb, that was a terrible introduction to the product. thats what i was saying. and BTW, how can i know not to watch until i watch it? or do you have a youtube lame demo review site i can visit?

  • ... Assuming that you "want" or "wanted" an MPD 32/24/18/16 at some point.

I think you'd know a little about music and fucking basic terminology.

Do you not own any sort of computer program for music like FL Studio or Reason???

  • read the posts. i dont think you get it. i was speaking for a newb, its an advertisement. there was nothing wrong with his use of jargon. but for someone interested in a controller with little exp that person would pass it by. he spat a bunch of tech spec without DEMOing. im in sales and thats the first rule of selling tech. thats all i was saying. yes, i have a list of soft/hardware i use but ill leave it at LOGIC. im sure youre having fun but this is more boring than the video.

    now go away

  • Why the fuck do you automatically think it's intended for inexperienced producers???

And, no you go away, stop acting as if this is intended for a large demographic

  • wait wait, i know how to solve this.

youre worse than my ex girlfriend

    "youre right im wrong."

    now go away>>....?

  • I'm sorry man, I know I've been pissing you off here.

But there's so many clues here that this isn't for your average consumer

    1) The Youtube account is called Akai "Pro" Video

    2) The terminology used is so extensive, that any noob would instantly turn this video off.

Can you atleast understand what I'm saying man???

  • I <3 MPD 32

I've already tried it and I really want to bu one.

  • would anyone say that the mpc 500 is a mixture of cpu and record usage? just wondering

  • can you use this unit without the cpu?????

  • no u need a cpu to use the MPD if you don't want to use a cpu get an MPC 1000 to 5000

  • @han549

    no...

  • But what I dont get is...Reason isnt the best program for the MPD32 but the dude in this video is using the MPD with Reason....LMAO....Go figure, whoever gave me a negative vote is retarded

  • i dont use reason but ive seen great results from people using the 32 with reason

  • nerd! the fella knows how it works, but canne play tha thing for toffee.

  • say i do not have ANY software to use for the mpc or mpd if i buy the mpd32 willl its come with a software to use? or will i have to buy a software? if so which software would be the BEST for the mpd32

  • well for the mpc u really dont need a program but if u want u can and the mpd23 would work good with reason fl studio or any other program that is compatible with that controller

  • The best software hands down is Reason 4.0.1

  • not at all, Pro tools is and sort of ableton,

reaseon goes before those two, and thats not just my opinion

  • thats all subjective. reason has no vst support without using rewire. personally i prefer vst's over refills so i dont really mess with reason but it does come with nice sounds unlike fl. fl is a great program as soon as u toss all the stock sounds. cubase logic fl reason all do the same things when it comes down to it. its all just what your most comfortable with. ableton is also a really nice program

  • honestly, i have been using fl for years, and at first i thought the same, you can't do anything with the stock sounds, so i download more.. but recently i have used the originals more then my new stuff.. it's about how you use it. knowing how to change sounds and add effects.

  • some of the synths in fl are ok after you tune the fuck out of them but basically the rest of the sounds are garbage. even the synths it has really dont compare to the better vst's out there. the presets are all awful so you have to tweak every sound which is just not time effective. once you mess with hypersonic 2 or any rob papen synths you never really want to go back to any stock fl synth. and dont even get me started on the drums

  • it comes with ableton live lite, which is pretty limited so reasons good, logics pretty good but fl is basic, so if your on a budget and new to it get fl

  • probably best for you to stick with either reason or fl like omg said. even with an mpc its nice to have some other hardware or software to add into the mpc's sequencer

  • mpc 2000xl or mpd32 ?

  • someone give the better model

    mpc 1000 or mpd 32?

  • the mpc is always a solid machine it does what it does If you already using softwares than you should get a mpd....At the end it just all about SKILLS..it doesn't matter WHAT you use.

  • your damm right, so many pople have loads of gear, effects, synths etc but they make pathetic music. BEst to know one bit to its full potential.

  • yep!--but i must say that having different kinds of gear keeps you creative i think. Somethimes you just get stuck some how,...boring to start up the same old fruityloops or whatever software you are usiing. Sometimes its cool to use hardwear stuff,..........but it all about ONE thing..........CREATIVITY!!!!! BEING ORIGINAL!!!!!!

  • Word!

  • Hey can any one throw me some good opinions? i used to have an mpc 2000XL but had to sell it as i was in a financial situation at the time, im now back on top of things and was going to buy it again but now i have came across the mpd 32, will this work fine with sonar 8, acid pro 7 ? can i rig this to my tableturns and mixer ? as i could with my mpc 2000XL, would i have to use a laptop if i was to use this outside?

  • what are controllers. And what are the knobs for.I am deciding between this and the korg padkontrol.

  • Fuck the Korg Pad Kontrol its chinsy....get a MPD 24 or MPD32

  • what are banks

  • sound banks

  • whats the difference between MPD and MPC?

  • MPD are "just" controllers : you have to use them with a computer (Mac, Mac, Mac, ... ^^) whereas MPC are "all-in-one" sample machines. I hope I answered to your question.

  • thanks dude, im gonna get a MPD, i wanted to use it with fruity loops 8. cheers

  • You're welcome. I got a MPD 24, and it works great ! I use it with Logic Pro 8.

PS : Does someone know how i can find Fruity loops for mac ?

  • thats a tough 1, not to sure...

im gonn aget the MPD 24 or 32 depending on what the store has in stock.

good luck with the fl for mac thing

  • you cant but you can get a windows converter or sometin like that.I forgot what it is called.you would be able to use windows software for mac

  • you can use an mpc with fl also.

  • Thanks Mike. Will this work to control Traktor?

  • the instructions to this mpd32 are kinda barebones...i can only get the bfd lite software to work with this thing...im having a problem getting reason to work with it even with using the presets

  • What's the best software sampler to use with this?

  • I can't get it to work w/ Reason 3.0 "REC" button not working!

  • hold "play", hit "edit" to access edit transport.

"enter" then adjust to the proper settings:

    MMC, MIDI, MMC/MIDI, CTLR

  • hmm, got one today..cant map anything in torq dj with it... lame, can anyone help me out? how do i map it with no preset.

  • i WANT THIS

  • Does anyone know if this is compatible with ACID 6.0???? Let me know cus if I had this with acid it would be a dream come true

  • jaydinari...i might need it 4 xmas

  • im selling my mpd 32 for 200..

    who wants it??

I dont need it anymore..I got motif xs and korg triton..

    Jay

  • i would like it.....wuts ur email i am interested

  • would an mpd32 work on software such as fl studio?

  • yep...

  • Abelton Live 7

Its got drum racks, like an software mpc

  • Does anyone know what software is easiest to use? I've tried Ableton Live 6.0 and I couldn't figure it out.

  • Reason 4.0 powerful software + usser friendly

  • is that identical to the mpk49 minus the keyboard, arp, & add 4 pads?

  • can it record your beats and to do mp3?

  • Why do they always have to put a nerdy ass lookin white dood in their videos? lol

  • It's because this particular video is for the white market....

I've seen some ads for the mpd series in magazines and some videos online with famous hip-hop producers on them.

    It's kinda silly, but seems to be effective;

Nerdy, tech-savvy white guys for the white market

Famous hip-hop producers for the ethnic market

Don't you love the subliminal aspects of advertising?

  • did u just say ethnic lol

  • no doubt ZILLA, the above comments are absurd. This guy works for akai, hence him saying "product specialist", has nothing to do with markets. If the guy was black, he'd still be saying the same thing.

  • @xDouble8x A nerdy ass lookin black dood would have suited you better? What's race got to do with anything?

  • @xDouble8x Cause they were the ones that helped develop it?

  • @xDouble8x

i bet the nerdy guy's makin more money than you..

  • @10jash who gives a fuck haha he can die alone with his macbook

  • @xDouble8x because if it werent for nerdy ass lookin white doods there would be no such thing as electronic music

  • @xDouble8x cause they're the only ones smart enough to build one

  • I want one! But I guess I'll have to steal it cause I'm a broke ass...

  • who,s that dickhead to judge if he an alcholic, mind ya own damn buisnis

  • this guy isan alcoholic

  • I think some ppl had issues with the drivers..but check out there website, and upgrade the firmware to 1.0.1

  • I got mine recently..i´m pretty amazed with it...i work with sound efx in a comedy group,so trigerring and accessing sound\loops is pretty fast.very cool controler

  • hey man...I have a queztion....does it works on W Vista>>>???

  • I want to know too! And does it come with software?

  • it comes with software/...think is ableton or sumthin ... but Does it works on Vista?

  • I have one at home. It's the best pad midi controller I've ever seen.

  • dont get it.. rectangles aint squares.. this shit is dope/// but the rectangular pads are lame

  • What makes u think the pads are rectangular? you musta bought a fake.

  • You know what i dont appreciate this.. lol... oh man i have the mpd24 and i see that they like morph the mpd24 and the mpc together and got this lovely machine. That is hot. Also i wonder if now does the MMC controls with work with any program now? Doesn't work in Fl studio 7...only 8 if there any of you fl users out there.

  • if you have seven you can just update to 8 for free or 29 if you are a box owner. I'm gettin this on Friday. cant wait!

  • so you are saying that the MPD24 transport controls DO work with FL8???

im planning on either getting the 24 or the 32, but ill save $100 if the transport controls on the mpd24 work with FL8.

  • yes, the mpd24 controls do work with fl8. I found this dude that has it and made a video about it. you can check him out just type in when you search on here hothandzent. ok.

  • So the MPD32 works with FL Studio 8? lol cause I really want an MPD. I'm tired of clicking on empty spaces for my drums and those transport controls would be cool too.

  • are you retarded? you have to hook up the 24 to a computer also, this is just the next model up with some extra features

  • I have an mpd24 and i loved it until i saw this. why would they put a new mpd out so soon? i wanna sell my 24 now just to have the note repeat feature.

  • I wish the folks who made beats weren't morons.

    I wish they could spell.

I wish they didn't all think that having the newest Akai gear would make them Timbaland.

I wish they would shutup about the poor beats and allow the professional to DEMO his product.

  • this is just the product that I was looking for my studio. I've been watching a lot of MV-8800/8000 and MPC2500/4000 videos on YouTube...and what I see is that very few people actually know how to really use the their gear. For me, I'm old skool drum programmer and prefer pads over keys or software...but I don't need an MPC/MV that has fewer capabilities than I have in software...and it doesn't make sense to use a MV/MPC as a controller. This is a great alternative...and fits right in the gap

  • Get the MPD32 - it's much better

  • am i the only one who thinks that guy looks like a serial killer?

  • that beat at the end was so lame.

  • @ArmsInAVase

    i totally agree haha!

  • digital village (UK shop) is taking pre-orders for £219.

i'm gonna wait till the price drops to about 180 or so as for now i can get by with my MPD 24

  • Already pre-ordered one.

Happy with my MPD24 till then, apart from a couple broken knobs.

Have to agree on the previous comment, a good drum pattern being played live would have been really good hype, and the ones this guy is playing are absolutely rubbish.

  • what does it matter he sucks u might be better what does that have to do with the product lol

  • Nothing really, i'm buying the product anyway, I was just suggesting that there could be a better way of advertising it. Imagine, like, pete rock makin a video for it, Or Dj krush. How awesome would that be.

  • how much?

  • the price is stated at 300 euros in Germany.

  • damn now i gotta go convert that shit to usd xD

  • The seriously need to have somebody who can actually play the MPCs/MPDs properly demoing this product. The beats he was playing were super lame.

Its RRP is £199 in the UK.

  • msrp lke 500

  • 300 i think

  • ok straight to the point!!

    HOW MUCH???
