Why da fuck are people asking these questions? go on a damn FORUM!!!! if your really serious you would have gone to guitar center/ any other music store OR joined a fucking forum!!!! And of course it works with any of your programs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh c'mon! For the OFFICIAL run-down of what the unit can do, Akai could have easily gotten someone who can actually play a beat to do the intro/demo. Shitz whack!
@justflow210 Do you know how to write the English language? And do you listen? It's very clearly stated in the video. This is a controller, not a sampler. This controls software on your computer like Live, Reason, Logic, or BFD Drums, EZ Drummer, etc.
Why do you guys comment just to hate? Let the man explain the product. Then, as the consumer, take ya ass to the store and buy it. Btw, I have the MPD 26 and its nice!
This isnt a drum machine. Its a midi controller that triggers sounds that you assign on a computer/outboard sampler. Essentialy it can produce any sound you like
This is a great video and helped me decide to order one.
As for "FYICREW" - you are just wrong.
He's not a salesman, he introduces himself as a "product specialist" at the start of the video.
He also plays the pads at the intro (demo) - he goes over the layout of the device (fantastic) - and he demos: "note repeat", "time division", and adjusts "pad sensitivity".
Granted, he didn't create a RAP beat like every other video about the MPD32 on YouTube but I'm ok with that.
Newsflash: Salespeople rarely have the title "Sales person". It's usually some corporate jargon like "Product Manager" or even "Product Specialist" plus a hundred others.
yo, sales man dude..... USE YOUR product!!!!! you demoed it alittle but for most people and for some parts me your tech jargon is to much. turned me off from buying it. youve got alot of emerging would be artists (myself included) that know their sh1t but are still learning
missed the point dude. i understood. but for a newb, that was a terrible introduction to the product. thats what i was saying. and BTW, how can i know not to watch until i watch it? or do you have a youtube lame demo review site i can visit?
read the posts. i dont think you get it. i was speaking for a newb, its an advertisement. there was nothing wrong with his use of jargon. but for someone interested in a controller with little exp that person would pass it by. he spat a bunch of tech spec without DEMOing. im in sales and thats the first rule of selling tech. thats all i was saying. yes, i have a list of soft/hardware i use but ill leave it at LOGIC. im sure youre having fun but this is more boring than the video.
But what I dont get is...Reason isnt the best program for the MPD32 but the dude in this video is using the MPD with Reason....LMAO....Go figure, whoever gave me a negative vote is retarded
say i do not have ANY software to use for the mpc or mpd if i buy the mpd32 willl its come with a software to use? or will i have to buy a software? if so which software would be the BEST for the mpd32
well for the mpc u really dont need a program but if u want u can and the mpd23 would work good with reason fl studio or any other program that is compatible with that controller
thats all subjective. reason has no vst support without using rewire. personally i prefer vst's over refills so i dont really mess with reason but it does come with nice sounds unlike fl. fl is a great program as soon as u toss all the stock sounds. cubase logic fl reason all do the same things when it comes down to it. its all just what your most comfortable with. ableton is also a really nice program
honestly, i have been using fl for years, and at first i thought the same, you can't do anything with the stock sounds, so i download more.. but recently i have used the originals more then my new stuff.. it's about how you use it. knowing how to change sounds and add effects.
some of the synths in fl are ok after you tune the fuck out of them but basically the rest of the sounds are garbage. even the synths it has really dont compare to the better vst's out there. the presets are all awful so you have to tweak every sound which is just not time effective. once you mess with hypersonic 2 or any rob papen synths you never really want to go back to any stock fl synth. and dont even get me started on the drums
it comes with ableton live lite, which is pretty limited so reasons good, logics pretty good but fl is basic, so if your on a budget and new to it get fl
probably best for you to stick with either reason or fl like omg said. even with an mpc its nice to have some other hardware or software to add into the mpc's sequencer
the mpc is always a solid machine it does what it does If you already using softwares than you should get a mpd....At the end it just all about SKILLS..it doesn't matter WHAT you use.
the mpc is always a solid machine it does what it does If you already using softwares than you should get a mpd....At the end it just all about SKILLS..it doesn't matter WHAT you use.
yep!--but i must say that having different kinds of gear keeps you creative i think. Hey can any one throw me some good opinions? i used to have an mpc 2000XL but had to sell it as i was in a financial situation at the time, im now back on top of things and was going to buy it again but now i have came across the mpd 32, will this work fine with sonar 8, acid pro 7 ? can i rig this to my tableturns and mixer ? as i could with my mpc 2000XL, would i have to use a laptop if i was to use this outside?
MPD are "just" controllers : you have to use them with a computer (Mac, Mac, Mac, ... ^^) whereas MPC are "all-in-one" sample machines. I hope I answered to your question.

this is just the product that I was looking for my studio. I've been watching a lot of MV-8800/8000 and MPC2500/4000 videos on YouTube...and what I see is that very few people actually know how to really use the their gear. For me, I'm old skool drum programmer and prefer pads over keys or software...but I don't need an MPC/MV that has fewer capabilities than I have in software...and it doesn't make sense to use a MV/MPC as a controller. This is a great alternative...and fits right in the gap
Happy with my MPD24 till then, apart from a couple broken knobs.
Have to agree on the previous comment, a good drum pattern being played live would have been really good hype, and the ones this guy is playing are absolutely rubbish.
Nothing really, i'm buying the product anyway, I was just suggesting that there could be a better way of advertising it. Imagine, like, pete rock makin a video for it, Or Dj krush. How awesome would that be.
should i still be thinking about getting one of these i 2012? :L

Nothing really, i'm buying the product anyway, I was just suggesting that there could be a better way of advertising it. Imagine, like, pete rock makin a video for it, Or Dj krush. How awesome would that be.

The seriously need to have somebody who can actually play the MPCs/MPDs properly demoing this product. The beats he was playing were super lame.
Its RRP is £199 in the UK.
