  • Is it a nice camera to use?

  • @Marillionmad Very nice. :)

  • @MichaelSirois I want to get it after I finish Uni, a sort of treat for all the hard work I will be putting in once I start :)

  • Wait is this a DSLR? Or a camcorder? I want!

  • @natebombdiggitydawg It's a HD Camcorder... But it costs 5000€. I think that's about 4000 US-Dollars

Sorry for my English, And I hope my Infromations are correct

  • what i would do for a camera like that

  • @BulldogManiaOfficial What I did for a camera like this.

  • @MichaelSirois

    guess much :)

  • cant find any HD footage from the XL2!!

  • @sprayframe The Canon XL2 isn't an HD camera, it's SD (despite is quality). It's a 3 CCD camera, which is why many people confuse it for HD. The XH-A1 is the HD model of the XL2.

Hope this helps. Although, there is such thing as there being "HD" videos on YouTube shot with Canon XL2, but that's only a term for the high quality of the streaming video, not necessarily the film's format.

  • oh right, lol. i got the impression that it shot HD because it can shoot aspect ratio of 16:9. thanks anyway ;)

  • Nice test looks great and great music. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff.

But just one correction the HD version of the XL2 is the XL-H1.

The XH-A1 is the HD version of the GL2 (as well as the GL1).

The XL2 is a great SD camera second only to the DVX100a, these two cams are the only Standard Def cameras that have True 24p / 30p shooting modes.

  • @timelessfilmscenes Right, and I've told people this over and over again (as you can see in my comments from the past). However, I think that the DVS is actually second to the XL-2 for a number of reasons. The fact that the XL-2 is native 16:9 widescreen (as opposed to the DVXs native 4:3) is crucial in terms of cinematic production. The DVX has to crop the picture to get widescreen whereas the XL-2's much wider natural frame doesn't have to.

  • @sprayframe when this came out it wasn't meant for hd

  • The song is from boards of canada - not sure what the name of the song is though

  • no, the song is by brian eno. its from the 28 days later soundtrack.
