Seriously-- Bows, he flies across the map to land on me-- longsword, I only dodge his hip checks 2 out of 3 times.... Gunlances... I've tried, but the sharpness on them is terribad, even with sharp sword and sharpness+1. It's nice not getting raped by hip checks though.

I use valhalla against this fish :D...I killed the green one...oddly. I hit the tail as it was running away, the lance bounced off, the fish jumped in the water...and died. No carves for me >:(
