Damn, that's a lot of hate down there...isn't this comment box for opinionated statements? So...here's mine again. Cobus, he's a good drummer, needs to work on his solos and his technique. His videos are cool because he has pro quality cameras and editing to back them up, plus his equipment is pretty sweet...but...he definately hasn't reached the level of drumming that can compete with the greats.
I'm not trying to beat on this guy, he's a good drummer, but why are so many people into him? Does he play with some awesome band, he famous somewhere other than drumming, he some kind of underwear model? What is it that gets him so many views, because no offense to this guy, his playing is as mediocre as mine.
But anyone can learn any song by ear if they really take the time to study it. Idk, I thought maybe he was already well known from somewhere. His videos are awesome, the way they are shot and produced, it would be nice to have the opportunity that he has, I suppose he's earned the right to be where he's at...at least I hope so.

Many professional drummers learn the exact same way, and heal to toe isn't a hard technique to learn, its definately difficult to master, but it also depends on how you're using it. JoJo Mayer is the best example of a drummer who uses heel to toe and the push and pull.
