  • You are one of the best comedians i ve seen! I am looking forward to new jokes!

  • Wonderful !

  • this guy is one of the funniest comedians I've ever heard

  • Some jokes are well thought indeed, however why use the "annoying orange" voice? You can perfectly well be funny without sounding like a cartoon, I think it would be even funnier.

  • im not bald, my hair's just out of your visual spectrum XDDD haha hilarious

  • Found my new favourite comedian :). Thank you sciencecomedian :)

  • I got his jokes but they just weren't that funny :/

  • Smart is sexy.. but smart and funny...!!!! WTH!! This man has gone too far..ok??! he's freakin amazing.. better than Sheldon Cooper !!better than Walter Bishop !! better than Dilbert !! This is the man of my dreams !! A COMEDIAN SCIENTIST !! hahahah

  • He killed it with the last joke!

  • This is funny!! AND I learned something! 5/5

  • Awesome!!! This guy is hilarious

  • Aside from the poor audio quality, this is an intelligent comedian I can enjoy!

  • I did not expect it. This was brilliant, would have been better with better audio but still, brilliant!

  • Ah...... Sid from Ice Age....

  • I've long been impressed by what a virus can do but I've really needed that bar joke! :D

  • Thanks for all the great comments, @DarkApteryx and everyone else! You guys rock.

  • wow heard you on npr yesterday, had no idea this niche was out there! thank you for the laughs =D

  • A tad too much Molybdenum.. brilliant

  • You know what? You are actually REALLY funny! Completely caught me off guard.

    Very impressive!

Now THIS is a real way to help get the mainstream audience in America on board with science!

Do not stop. Book as many shows as possible and keep writing new material.

I honestly believe you can make a definite impact on the world with this type of artform.

    Seriously... make it happen bruddah!

  • Gezzz ! That's funny ! Love it !

  • Great to see a science comedian thats actually funny.

This guy could do for science what John Stewart has done for politics. =)

  • Awesome.

  • Funny but needs a better microphone. The audio could be better.

  • lol @ the 186k cinema problem

  • I found it all funny.

  • day shift sucked! lol!!!!

  • hahahahah "this is where i came in"....ooooo lordy

  • Good stuff!

  • Please don't call Edison an inventor, he was a liar and a thief. He had a staff of 200 who did the inventing for him, then he stole the invention fired the employee and patented it in his own name.

  • A couple of lame jokes, but on the whole, very witty :) /thumbs up

  • HE LOOKS LIKE SID THE SLOTH

  • @Nithralas his mother didn't nag him enough lmaol jkjk

  • Extra mu shu and molybdenum, pleez. Good stuff.

  • Hold the molybdenum! Good stuff.

  • Great work LOL!

  • The sound quality hurts my teeth, but thank you anyhow for posting this. The bit starting at TI 4:30 really struck a chord in me; the bit about how being interested in science shouldn't make you a geek any more than being a sports fan does.

Being interested in science means you play the role of the smart guy in the room, with all its prejudices and responsibilities, like always having to work the computer and reassuring people that you don't thing they're stupid.

  • Smart is sexy. Smart and funny is damn near indecent. I hope I get to see more and I'm stealing your bar jokes if you have no objections. My niece will love them after I explain them.

  • The funniest scientist I've ever seen! Though to be honest I could count on one finger the number of funny scientists I know ---- Still, funny is funny. Not Bill Hicks, but good stuff. Kind of old school. Like Woody Allen in his Sid Caesar days.

  • not sure why this sint funny to me. i love science, and comedy, but this doesnt do anything for me. Over rehearsed maybe? maybe just lame jokes... idk.

  • just personal taste I guess

  • Day shift as an astronomer... ouch! X)

  • I'm a C section and i also have no sence of direction.

  • Same goes for my brother.

  • Damn I laughed so hard! thank you ^_^ "An electron walked into a bar and asked: how much for a drink? to which the bartender replyed: for you sir, no charge!"

  • electrons are charged... it was neutron lol

  • I heard that joke from my robot butler in Fallout 3.

  • Haha... same here. Along with stuff like: "Did you know that irradiated cats have 18 half lifes?"

  • @stunhabter lol

  • you mean a neutron?

  • haha yes thats right :)

  • @Akaitsuki85 shouldn't that have said Neutron not electron?

  • You are so funny, that I was motivated to do my very 1st video response!

  • You rock! They need to give you your own TV show (or internet daily podcast)- There's just not enough groaners out there, and definitely not enough scientici humor.

  • very funny

  • Brian, you are a whoot! A science wiz! Love your stuff!

  • lol, this is where I came in.

  • I have to say the last one was the best. Or at least my favorite.

    Very hilarious.

  • Poor sound!

  • Ultraviolet hair ROFL!!!!!!

  • Thanks! That's one of my favorites!

  • same lol

  • @sciencecomedian -Wait a minute, wouldnt it be black to us if it was ultraviolet? I mean, light culd not just pass through it , it would be absorved, right

  • if you think about it, he'd have a major sunburn

  • "...used to be an astronomer but I got stuck on the day shift, which sucks." OMG! ROFL! Brilliant.

  • Hilarious!

  • i lol'd

  • Ha ha, that was great! :)

  • Comment removed

  • funny but u need toweak te audio abit it s kinda hard to hear.

  • This is amazingly funny! love this guy :D

  • But...there are always volcanic events happening out in Alaska, and a thousand nutters like you making ten thousand predictions.

I wouldn't care if it were to come true, it still wouldn't make your evil invisible friend real. If he wanted to warn us, he'd find a better way than to speak through idiots like you.

    Peace.

  • Quite, well said. Peace bro.

  • Don't worry, he's only talking to fellow christians. The rest of us are in the clear. Also, I'd like to see a porn with all the things he said we should stop doing in it. Shit would be boss.

  • Oh, well I hope you're right. We don't need any more Americans. I'm from Sweden so I'll be fine here. No volcanos or earthquakes.

Just take the whole USA for all I care.

Post Script: Are you mad? Because I think that you are and I'm not insulting you. Visit a doctor.

  • tensimplefacts blogspot com

  • uhh.. you know that you can do whatever you want even kill as long as you believe jesus is lord with all your heart.

well acording to the bible. fr all of us normal people we think morals are important.

  • Ooooooo, neat. I always hear of people like this, but I've never actually spotted one with my own eyes, a very intriguing observation.

  • Man, where's the spambots to leave links to porn when you need them?

  • sooo funny..."no this is where i came in"...

  • plutonium in Chinese food... More like Japanese food :o(

( we Americans were really mean to them)

  • yeah the rest of the world has notaced

  • "stand up straight" is one i use on my kids alot. that and 'use your head'

  • You are criminally underknown. You need an HBO comedy special. Or maybe a Discovery channel comedy special. :D

  • Cracking jokes. Well done mate.

  • kinda funny and kinda dorky....lol oh wows

  • I love it. I'm sharing this with all my friends..

  • "I have hair, it's just outside the visible spectrum."

    Wow that is awesome.

  • DUDE, you're my new hero.. i'm showing all my science teachers

  • Hey, how about *normalizing* the volume, before uploading the video?

  • Pretty funny. the venue reminds me these desert hospitality dinners here in the CA. low desert.

do you ever get down to Palm desert?

  • Thanks. The venue is the Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences (Washington, D.C.).

I haven't been to the Palm desert area in many years. If you know someone who wants to hire me, let me know!

  • pretty funny, i've never heard of science comedy

you could enter this into one of those online comedy contests, like yobi laugh

  • How did I stumble upon this? I love the Na element part at 5:20 man that was so funny! Also the part about hearning the sound a week later...hilarious. Great stuff man. It's so cool because your're not just funny bout it also promotes scientific and philosophical thought. That's so appropriate too because viruses, atoms, light etc... it's so elusive sometimes we need to make it somehow human and accessible. LIke ants vs. David & Goliath. UV hair - awesome!!! Just got a new fan...

  • Great humor! But dude... get a real sound recording system!

  • Thanks... I was performing at a museum - all I did was stick my video camera in the back of the room to document. No elaborate set up.

  • Great stuff! How do we find out your touring schedule?

  • youre hilarious,

but a bit too fast in the delivery O.o

  • "The light bulb was such a good idea, that it actually became the symbol for having an idea" LOL
