fantastic, I see where the rollings stones get it from it, george harrison was a great fan as well you hear where he got his slide technique on "dust my broom" and hendrix stole some of the lines here, they all love this guy.....classic blues.....one of the forefathers.
you can also hear this song played by the Guanabatz ,a good psychobilly band from england.they recognize to the great masters of blues like all the good bands who plays at the rockabilly scene.....i love this song since i was 15....now i´m 45
@TheRealRayJ I've heard it, and sucks big monkey balls... Clapton is a phoney white boy from england, a rich kid who never experienced the blues. He was born with the silver spoon and his playing displays this. Elmore james is the real deal.
@BlackSheepParty Rubbish! Where did you learn such codswallop. Your just a rich kid who cannot play on Clapton's par despite owning a silver guitar. Clapton's twice black alright, once being poor, once being white. Elmore James is the real deal, Eric Clapton deals the real.
@xiaun I have never owned a silver guitar, if I did I would have to pawn it to pay the electric bill. However I also know that eric clapton never stepped foot in a juke joint in jim crow south. I know that Eric Clapton has never had to run from racist pigs for his life. I know that eric clapton has never had to worry about money... It takes more than a pentetonic scale and a melodic minor scale to play the blues my friend. EC is as far removed from the blues as pat boone is from rock and rol
@BlackSheepParty IT'S "PHONY" YOU ILLITERATE SHIT STAIN! JEALOUS THAT YOU CAN'T PLAY FOR SHIT AND THAT NOBODY LOOKS AT YOU AS AN EXAMPLE EXCEPT FOR WHAT NOT TO BE
@bbnatedogg You seem to think having weirdos (you've never met) adore you to be a desirable thing.
I speak from experience when I tell you, that Happiness comes from within and not from other people's perception of who you are. One thing I can tell you is that people Like Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and many others are terrified by the thought of having to be around obsessed fans like you. They spend Millions of dollars per year to make sure it never happens.
@BlackSheepParty CLAPTON IS THE SHITTIEST SHIT EVER,,THE ONLY REASON PPL LIKE HIM IS CUZ THE MUSIC MEDIA TELLS YOU TO,,,HE CAN PLAY HIS BOX NO DOUBT,I WONT DENY HIM THAT,,BUT JUST CUZ HE WAS IN CREAM,,DOESNT MEAN SHIT,,,HIS VOICE IS THAT OF A CREEPY MOLESTER,,,
@LilSqkratch What next? I guess you expect me to follow up with something like "UR gay"? Come on man, it's 2011. Stop the hate towards blacks, gays and others. The days of Mississippi Jim Crow 1960 are over. get with the times. Racism is ugly. SO why do you wish to keep spreading it?
@TheAzmountaineer I never said people don't try to emulate EC or ginger Baker. But come on, people also emulate Britney Spears... it means nothing. Youtube's "FRED" has a huge following too, but that don't mean his content has any substance. Some of the lamest "celebrities" have a following.
@BlackSheepParty HOW THE FUUUUUUCK can you try to emulate britney spears? lol, what was it 27 song writers and 13 producers on her last album? how many were her? not a single.
@MrTrickydick666 I'm not sure what you are trying to say do to the typos, but there are many wanna be singer dancers who love Britney. I wish it wasn't true... but it is what it is.
@BlackSheepParty Well, I see what you're sayin, but there's a big difference. We're not talking 15 yr old bimbos here. Lots - LOTS - of very talented musicians, famous and not so famous, admire Eric and Ginger, try to emulate them, and can't do it. Jeez, the longer I play guitar, the more I'm in awe of what they do. and Elmore, too, don't get me wrong.
@TheAzmountaineer i find the more you learn on guitar makes you realize just what these guys do that makes them so great, because to the average person steve vai seems a million times better than clapton or page or hendrix but as you go back you can see the little things they did that and the things they pioneered that made them so great
@NintendoSinceBirth1 agreed! The more I learn, the more I find that I need to learn. and I've been playing off and on for 40 years. These people that say Clapton is lame should maybe post some of their own playing so we can see how well qualified they are to make a claim like that.
Thank god for music? Where is a song by God we can all listen too? There isn't any because PEOPLE make the music. God is nothing more than an imaginary friend for the simple- minded like you.
Could someone bring blues to Holland? My generation is lost in a age with soulless music (Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga etc.) and everyday I'm singing the 'lost-my-baby-(the music)-blues'.
@justWatchin97 I would tell you if that is what I said. But since I didn't say that; I don't know what you are talking about. Don't worry about what you think I said. Just let it go.
Elmore James and Sonny-Boy Williamson are from near my home-town (Belzoni, MS), and got their starts writing jingles for my Grandfather's Drug Store (Turner's) on a local radio show. Matter of fact, we just had a blues-marker dedication at the site on 05/15, commemorating them.
TY for posting this! Elmore was one of the very first bluesmen I heard and still one of my faves. I actually found one of his albums in a south side Chicago supermarket for a dollar! The one with Hawaiian Boogie and Sho 'Nuff I Do on it...
