I have really enjoyed watching your videos - hard to believe you are 6 feet tall! I was wondering about the dismount from the p-bars in this video. I have seen other men perform a similar move where they twist around on one arm (like you do at 12s) but instead of dismounting, they go back into a handstand after being on one arm for a bit. Can you tell me what it's called? Also, would love to see a slo-mo vid of that move since it confuses me greatly to watch it being done! :)
@kayteeare Are you talking about a Diamidov? Paste this after youtube.com for a video with Epke Zonderland doing a Diamidov + 450 in slow motion: watch?v=FdvCp0tCXsw
@DrAlexisOlson Thank you thank you! That's the move, although this one goes further - holy crap, that looks hard!!! Wow, incredible to see the strength one has to have in their upper body to do that.
Thanks for your reply. I watched some more like the slow motion vault. You have exceptional tallent not only for gymnastics but for putting film and music together. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope you do lots more. It's so tranquil to watch. I think you could get LOTS of traffic on your own site and could make money with ads etc. You are a MASTER and only a gymnast can truly appreciate what you've created. VERY WELL DONE. Feel free to call. Lorne HOLMAN 403-270-0964 Thanks again.
Buddy, you are a smooth gymnast. Very beautiful to watch your mount on the p-bars in slow motion with that GREAT trumpet music. PLEASE do some more routines with more music with advanced camera shots & lighting etc. I've watched this clip 100 times remembering my days in the gym. All your other gymnastics is very good too. Congrats on all the practice. Lorne Holman in Calgary, AB, CANADA 403-270-0964
@LorneHolman Thanks. Unfortunately, I sprained my knee earlier this week while tumbling, so it will be a little while before I'm in the gym much again.
It's not too difficult, but it's not too easy either (especially to swing to handstand out of).
It's pretty much all about the tap. I only bail from about horizontal (otherwise I it's hard to hang onto the bars).
It's a little more difficult if you are tall like I am. I'm about 6 feet tall (183 cm) so I have to put the bars two notches above regulation height so I don't scrape my knees.

Oh ok, I'm quite short as well; I might try it soon. Is it easier to land on your upper arms first?

"I'm quite short as well"? I'm actually quite tall for a gymnast.
It is much easier to land on your upper arms.
