  • 1:16 Hey it's Screamin' Jay.

  • OMG I`ve accidentally clicked the `dislike` button! Love this song so much I was trying to get the volume up to maximum. So sorry. Fantastic number!

  • WHO DO- VOODOO, THAT'S WHO.

  • powerful.......

  • Just about as mixed-up as a gal can be -

    He done voo-voo-voo-voo-voodoo'd me!

I just remembered that I have this song on an old Halloween CD or maybe even cassette tape, along with other spooky/scary/supernatural tunes. And this was the best music on that compilation.

  • @hebneh I had it on Elvira's haunted hits! Yes, there was a close second though, me thinks it was the 4th track.

  • "Voodoo, Voodoo" should have been released in 1958, a year which saw the release of tunes such as "The Blob," "Frankenstein's Den," "The Purple People Eater," "Zombie," and "The Monster."

  • ha! great visuals

  • What a voice,& what a sound!!

This one really rock's and roll's.

    Many thanks

  • Thank you for this amazing upload

  • Excellent editing, this is a great song. Nice work.

  • Was Lavern Baker's 'soul on fire' ever released as a single?

  • @horrorshow76

Yes, it was her debut single on Atlantic Records in 1953.

  • what was the A side of this fab record

  • "Hey Memphis"/ "Voodoo Voodoo", Atlantic single #2119. The A side featured the great King Curtis on sax.

  • @funknroll Memphis Soul Stew.

  • Was that Phil Spector producing Lavern Baker?

  • I couldn't find a definite answer on that. The song was recorded in '58, but only released as a B-side in '61. Though Phil produced the A-side, there was no producer's credit on the B-side.

Phil did begin producing in '58 so it's still possible. If anyone knows better, let us know.

  • One of the best song ever - cool pics man!
