This may be the first hedgehog video I ever saw, about a year or two ago. And it's still got to be in my top five favorites of the ones I've seen. Seeing it again this year was part of what made me want one as a pet now. This video is adorable at the same time as amusing. Sorry for the loss of this pet, though it seems he lived a good life in your hands. Extensive research and all. I am glad you uploaded this video. @MariaAarhus Actually, African Pygmy hedgehogs are NEVER found in the wild. They are a hybrid of the Algerian and White-bellied hedgehogs, if I remember correctly, and if you see one of these little guys outside all by themselves, they are someone's abandoned or escaped pet. This type of hedgehog was bred specifically to be a pet, and really, does Brillo look like she doesn't enjoy being someone's pet? Seems perfectly happy to me.

They say that their product is for hedgehogs but it's only to make money. There's even a type of food "for hedgehogs" that makes hedgehog sick! The best for this animal is low-fat cat food with insects, trust me! My two hedgehogs are crazy about mealworms! ; )

I am sorry if you feel I am an irresponsible hedgehog owner. However I was contacted by the National Hedgehog Association about this video and they praised it. She has lived happily now for over 4 years. If it makes you feel any better I dont feed her these treats any more because with her getting older it was best for her to eat softer foods. You dont know me personally and all the research I do on all my animals so please keep that in mind before you judge next time.
