Canada did not invent the DVD, it was developed by the Engineers of the company Matshusita in Japan.

Canada did not invent insulin and in fact it is widely believed Dr. Banting stole Nicolae Paulescu work. Note that Nicolae Paulescu invented insulin before Banting and this supported by many around the world

@ShayisWY What rubbish. Paulescu was the first to isolate insulin but he never put it to any clinical use and he didn't save any lives. If Banting "stole" his work, then Newton "stole" from Kepler. Paulescu published his work and Banting expanded upon it -- that's how knowledge progresses.

Banting was directly confronted about plagerizing work as a lot of it resembled Paulescu's work - literally almost a direct copy. Banting blamed it on translation and even indirectly admited he was first hence the quote

He can't retroactively take credit for saving the lives of millions. Paulescu made the first step, yes, but he didn't advance with it, nor did he apply it to living subjects.

And Banting and his colleagues did discredit Paulescu by misquoting his reports. Later they said they had made a "mistake" but the Nobel Prize still went to them.
