  • my computer is beteer than yours

  • problems with asus? im running an asus motherboard for 3 years straight. not a single problem ;)

  • @maxishine... where do u buy ur computer parts from?...personally i'm not an online shopping fan.

  • What job do you do ???

  • I have this version III.

  • Ok this may sound a little stupid but why the hell would they make a motherboard with blue ram slots and red heat sinks, usually people go for red or blue, not both. Its just retarded, same goes for gigabyte, blue motherboard yellow sata cables >_>

  • Im running with a Core i7 950 4,8GHz with this Board.Prime stable...

I love asus and evga !

  • DO you gym? you have decent size forearms LOL

  • assoooose

  • that motherboard is better than my computer itself!

  • can these boards even fit in my antec 902 mid tower

  • you must make a lot of money cause it took me 2 years to say up to build mine gaming pc

  • are these board support quad set up?

  • "I've bought ice cream from the super market that´s packaged better than that" xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • read some books ,you have big problems with words

  • I've got this mobo, yeee!

  • are those sweets in the jars?

  • $780? Wtf? I got my Rampage II Extreme for $445 on Scorptec....

  • have had a asus for 4 years, pretty good condition x/D

  • Loved your comment on the memories.

Btw, how is the motherboard working out?

  • thanks for sharing this MOBO with us :)

  • FUCK YOU DO HAVE MONEY TO BUY STUFF!!! Shit with your money I would have had already a KICK ASS MACHINE!!!! Dang dang dang!

  • white looks cheap unless it is a mac but, not be wrong, apple is only good with ipods not computers, slow and costy but just awsome look and performance for everything but video games or microsoft office rate hands down people I know you are

  • Wow nice.

"I've bought ice-cream from the super market packaged better than that" - That made my day ahha

  • Ive had 2 Defective Asus stiker II formula's

and now im looking for a good 1366 mobo, but is the Rampage II formula actually a reliable board?...because im seeing a lot of topics on google of bootproblems...

  • 700 dollars for the motherboard and 600 dollars for the RAM...? What currency is that?

  • this thing is quite expensive isnt it?

  • Yeah, it's $400

  • i got this board

  • 300dollars with taxes in canada don't know why it cost that much in your country

  • he is from australia, the currency there is lower than ours

  • @patalex07 whered you buy this from?

  • ASUS FTW

  • 1.... 2 ...3! hehe

  • i dont see why he as a problem with ASUS? i have had 3 of their boards in the past ASUS is the only thing i will put in my PC

  • lmao lollies FTW!!!!

  • Go Aussie's!!!!

  • Anyone else think the Gigabyte ex58 Extreme is better than the Asus Rampage 2 Extreme?

Im not sure which one to get... help :)

  • There literally the same. But the rampage 2 has the sound card and better software.

  • I own a Gigabyte GA ex58 Extreme motherboard and would recommend the Asus Rampage 2. Now don't get me wrong, I really like the Gigabyte, but the Rampage is more user friendly for overclocking etc...

  • gigabyte is for specilised overclockers and the rampage is more user friendly

  • If i were u, i wud have gone the Gigabyte EX58-EXTREME. Much better BIOS for OC'ing, 2oz copper PCB for extra cooling, it is much more cheaper and in alot of forums, it is better. Has the Rampage II failed on u yet???

  • u read that off a cereal box? lawl

  • can i fit a swiftech nb max on the rampage 2 extreme?

  • it should say if it is compatable or not if it doesent say then it wont

  • well i love evga but asus makes the best motherboards.

  • It's ASUS not ASUUUUUUUS

  • 2:46 This board is on my wishlist, but whats with the autograph space on the southbridge? Looks awsome, but I don't know why people would sign it (or what to sign it with).

  • Gosh I hate looking at computers that are better than mine.

  • lets just say the x58 classified is better. the asus rampage II will overclock the i7 much farther and more effieient then the classified. i mean. im using a rampage II and i overclocked my 920 on stock cooling to 4.0 ghz! with only 1.29 volts. so suck it

  • well yea i do admit it you can overclock more depending on the board. What i do like from evga boards there super easy to overclock . just higher the frequancy and when your going to 4.0 the voltage. But thats it everything else is on auto . I HAVE OVER CLOCKED MY I7 TO 4.1 JUST TO SEE HOW FAR AND MAYBE I COULD MORE but 3.6 is way good enough on air .

  • yeah. but 4.0ghz on my stock cooling am i lucky? or something? did intel just send me a magicial chip of something lol? cause it idles at 55C and loads (NOT FULL) at like 63c

  • damm bro you must live in antartica and have your windows open . Myne is at 3.6 at 34 degrees at ide and 55 on load. And i live in a cool area in north california .On a 9700 zalman with a lapped cpu.

  • oregon here haha

  • LOL i overclocked mine in an asus p6t deluxe v2 and stock cooling and managed to keep the heat under 60 degrees to 4.24 ghz

  • lol i dont know how to pronounce ASUS either...

  • i don't think anyone but they do themselves

  • this monster costs 380euro in sweden :)

  • 250 pounds :),much cheaper

  • I loled on the packaking of the memory XD

  • isso sim que é uma placa mae ou meu deus se eu tivesse uma dessa nao reclamaria de nada kkk

  • The soundcard is actually a VIA VT2010, but they installed the X-Fi software on it, and put ALchemy into it..

  • What kind of question is that, X58 chipset motherboards only support i7's.

  • stupid!!

  • sorry but i did not know so fuck off ...........

  • jk its ok

  • hey which ram did you pick to go with this board?

  • Does everything cost $600 in Australia? : )

  • Pretty much...

  • 600 dollers of that ram astralia is fucking expensive lol.. well its i bit diff in money i get with conversion hah

  • I thought that 480USD in Israel is expensive ,lol/

  • you're right it's 100$ per 1 gb ram....in italy with 100 euro you get 4 gigs of ram

  • asus fail!! i have never had that happen it must be ur shipper lol that happend to me once they dropped the box and the boerd was shot

  • where the hell does he get all his money from...

  • he gets it from trees :)

  • :OOO me want x3

  • me want to =3 =D

  • NEWEGG HAS AN OPEN BOX DEAL FOR $250!!!

  • lol open boxes

  • if brand new shouldnt auything take out away lol

  • board aint worth $400.

  • i have one and it so is

  • no better than any other X58 board since you got a %10 preformance degrade with windows vista and linux dont have enough support yet. winXP has its limits on hardware. maybe windows7 might be the answer but the board might be half price then.

  • Then? erm, windows 7 is already available.(I got it).

Though I agree this motherboard is an overkill.

  • no win7 no out yet just the evaluation release, the real retail release is in oct'09

  • SO? Just get the freaking evaluation copy, wait for a crack to be made and poof! Free win7.. its that easy

  • your not getting everything in it.

its just a demo and who know what might be different.

  • if you post a vid saying that you caught a virus because of what you attempted with a crack of Win 7, i'l laugh at you so hard i'll email you all of my shit that came from my bowels because you managed to humor me shitless

  • Okay humble fragile little man..

Why should I be getting a virus, its several years since i last caught a "deadly" virus, cause I know how to surf with caution.

I cracked vista, I cracked XP, so why shouldnt I be able to do it with 7? :-)

  • Asus have gone down hill FAST, which is sad as they used to have great hardware.

You should look at the EVGA X58 Classified, that board is rock solid. Thinking of getting that one now over the Rampage II Extreme as I read so much bad stuff about it :(.

  • i've read much bad stuff about the classified board also

  • The PSU compatibility for the Classified is dodgy (three great quality PSU brands are hit and miss) but at least the EVGA customer support is A+ (compared to Asus, just go to their forums :( ).

Also there is much less chance of getting a DOA board or ones with DIMM slot issues with EVGA. Nearly every second board from Asus has something wrong with it. To make matters worse, they don't replace it with a new one, just a referb job, which is a joke. Plus they charge YOU for postage! Insane :(.

  • Don't get me wrong, I love the Asus boards, they are 10/10 on paper, but the quality control from the company + bad customer support is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to spend AU$600+ on a mobo only for it to be half working (then send it away for a different broken board).

I've been doing about 2 weeks straight reading about Asus and EVGA and both boards have their flaws, it's just that EVGA don't treat their customers like aliens.

Sorry for these long comments, I get carried away :P.

  • im a fan of no hardware company right now just cuz of this stuff.

  • I hear you! We spend AU$600 (US$480-500) on a motherboard that doesn't even work fully! And if it IS DOA or has a fault, you have to send it away just to get a refurbished model back even though you just paid for a brand new board!

It's like going into a shop where the second hand, half broken items are the same price as the brand new ones! It's so immoral :(.

  • I've got a rampage extreme 2. my i7 920 runs at 4.2 ghz right now. no stability issues at all.

Look at cpuz validation site: id=581198

  • Aussie for the win!

  • What does the "8-8-8-24" mean for the RAM? I have been wondering that for a while and I can't seem to figure it out.

  • its for the frequencys, the timings, which show how fast ram is, in another way of memory clock

  • the whole vid i was looking at the candy jars :P jk nice vid 5/5

  • I want those damn Dairy Milk and Coffee Crisp bars in that jar!

  • 1:54 Is it candy in that glass thing?

  • yes ^^

  • That is top quality motherboard..

  • advertise ! advertise ! advertise !

  • is just a unboxing vid noob

  • asoooos

  • asüüüüüüüs^^

  • i thought he was pronouncing it wrong, my father and i pronounced it acis

  • asuus xD

  • Apparently it is asoos. Sounds way better as 'aysuss'

  • agreed

  • lol, i want to overclock my keyboard and mouse

  • Hehe, It was hilarious for me when you said that you had problems with the Striker motherboard. I had also ordered the striker II Formula 26 weeks ago, after 2 RMA's Asus "lost" the motherboard so I did get my money back and ordered now the Rampage II Extreme :D it's arriving next week and I hope this one will work very well :D And, finnaly, starting to gaming. well, a little bit... I have still the XFX 9600GT XXX, I'm going to order 2x GTX275 or 1x GTX295. Then it will really starts :D

  • nou

  • I prefer the X58 classified

  • Who doesn't?

    kp

  • well duhh, the x58 chipset is the future, you would be stupid to buy a core 2 quad

  • shut up

  • you shut up ^^

  • So many fools roaming around,X58 chipset only supports corei7 and corei5 which is yet to launch!

  • ASUS rocks

  • holey crap his ram is expensive.

  • i got this mobo a few months ago and when i took off the socket protective plate i bent 1 of the pins slightly...it isa very slight bend but is even a slight bend able to ruin the whole mobo??? PLEASE REPLY!!

  • lol ur screwed

  • will the new core i7's work on the current x58 boards?

  • lol x58 is made or the core i7

  • wow you idiot x58 are designed only for i7

  • i meant the 32nm's

ps. that was un called for. : )

  • Ye i guess it was a little.

Intels new 32mn codename sandy bridge WILL support x58 boards.

  • thanx

  • i have that motherboard with a core i7.Very nice

  • very nice bord, nice vid maxishine

  • hey man, i have the striker 2 extreme and im thinking about buy this in a week... did it work for you man or is it terrible? i understand the striker chipset. soon as i get this and it works im going to take the peice of crap outside and unscrew and smash the shit out of it.

  • Dont smash the Striker 2 Extreme lol Send it to me :D Im stuck with one of those stock ASrock things.

  • is shit just more expensive in Australia or what

  • are you anti static cause if you not... no wonder your motherboard will fail.

  • im gona buy that 1 :P! and 920 tho with a V8 cpu cooler 6 gig of Corsair Dominator etc :P

  • thoses red things are called mosfets and that black thing the Intell 10 R is called the south bridge lol overall good vid

  • those rad things are mosfets lol

  • Upload this again in HD plz Maxi :D

  • the jar of chocolate on the side looks tempting...mmmm~

  • sorry mate but i googled your motherboard and it seems it only supports up to 1066mhz memory bus at most, 800mhz official.

and the cpu having a FSB of 1333mhz, just doesnt match...

you should expect around 5-30% more fps in games if you upgrade to 2x1gig of 1066mhz ram

you know what actually its just not worth it..

what i would do is overclock your ram to around 950mhz that should give you a great boost since its not even close to FSB frequency

  • thats the wrong mother board you looked up at...

thats probably the socket 775, this is socket 1366

  • wasnt a reply to the video but to a comment..

  • arr sorry didnt see that!

  • i was just wondering weather to get corsair memory or patriot for my new gaming rig. I have looked at the patriots and they seem faster and stuff but everyone seems to get corsair so i was wondering which one i should get ?

  • Oh sorry that's AMD Phenom II 920 x4 or the 940

    Clocks

    920 @ 2.8ghz x4

    940 @ 3.0ghz x4

I'm thinking that I could easily overclock the 920 to be the same as the 940 as well =)

  • Ay everyone i'm thinking of building a new rig but i'm on a budget now. My motherboard I bough supports AM2+ and I'm thinking of buying the 920 or the 940. Soo is this a good CPU or not?

  • It is a great CPU! I'm running it right now, I mean, the Intel that has the same clock speed (3.0 ghz) is 5 times more expensive!! Perhaps it is faster, but how much faster can it be? I really recommend the AMD Phenom II 940 BE.

  • the intel is about 15% faster

  • yeah, but is it worth spending ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS on a CPU that WILL be out dated soon with the 32nm line of the i7.... I mean, If your unpacient, go ahead spen a grand on a cpu, I honestly would not do that.

  • come on, dont play stupid!

hje didnt payed for it, hes getting payed to review that stuff and intel provides it for him 0.0

and yeah, some people would spend that much money, spoiled little children etc!

  • ofcourse! I know he didn't pay for it! Im not dissin on Maxi, he's awesome!

  • 30% faster in encoding,,,, the i7 965 vs core 2 extreme

  • there is no ZZZZ in Asus

  • u rich basterd lol,

    great video!

  • yeah...i tough that tpp :D

  • you may add another HDD of same size and couple them in RAID 0 for some extra boost in gaming and overall performance

  • I'm currently thinking of building a new gaming PC, what Motherboard would you recommend to go with the Intel Core i7 920. I can't find any good gaming ones.

  • If you're going gaming get this one. It's about $430. If you cant get this one just message me, I can find a few gaming ones for you.

  • I still like the gigabyte boards so much more. Never had a problem with them and they are very well built and one of the best of ocing.

  • wow, I don't think I blinked even once when looking at the Rampage II Extreme. That is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen (not much coming from me being how much of a geek I am)

  • hey maxishine can you do a how to overclock the core i7 920 on rampage 2 extreme? please! thanx in advance

  • Looks gorgeous yeah totally agree wit u ...

But one thing...if it gets to work first time with the current Hardware ok it will work...if not then start changing bios and hardware to figure the problem more or less like MSI ...

    In summary...

D.F.I and Foxconn really owns asus...companies that know how to built in bios for the hardware to work :)

    gr8 review again !

  • How many motherboard standoffs does the asus rampage 2 extreme require? Also, will it fin in a mid tower case?

  • don't forget X-Fi sound card ;)

  • hey maxishine, what waterblock did you get?

  • Hey maxi how can I add adsense to my youtube channel?

  • u ahve to be a youtube partner

  • Maxishine how do you have so much money?

You can afford what you want O_O

    Money plant?

  • no its 1366 socket, only Intel® Core i7-965 XE (Bloomfield), Intel® Core i7-920-940 (Bloomfield)

  • can i use a core 2 quad with this mobo?

(i know that it supports core i7 but im asking whether will it support core 2 quad/duo)

  • just go with teh asus striker 2 extreme its the same thing only socket 775 same light same soudn card all same

  • i know but can this mobo support the socket 775

  • no the cpu holder is bigger then the 775 so its impossible t put a 775 cpu in there

  • damn nice

  • too bad its not shaped like a kangaroo
