Carbon tax is a disgusting crime against Humanity. CO2 whether man-made or otherwise doesn't drive global climate, it never has, it never will, the Sun does...
There is a quick simple solution to global warming and climate change. It is called Muon Catalysed Fusion. As worked on Star Scientific. NO CO2. NO Greenhouse Gases. NO Toxic Waste. The source is dueterium from the World's Oceans - virtually limitless. It is cheap to produce. WE NEED IT NOW. See the website "Star Scientific Limited", Blog "The Big Picture by Andrew Horvath", Youtube video - "In the Footsteps of Fusion"

@greenman3610 Thanks mate, I'm linking to them now with pretty much those titles. I can't tell you how much I value all your careful work on this, and will be sharing these serious scenarios with a friend soon. BTW — on 250 million year ago warming & dead ocean events: Did you ever see the ABC's "Crude: the amazing story of oil" Part 3 discusses the dead ocean events in depth and might offer some good clips. abc[dot]net[dot]au/science/crude/ — a cool graphics source?
John R. Christy has been accused of recanting his position that climate change is neither Anthropogenic nor Catastrophic, but he didn’t. He used two independent data sets, weather balloon and satellite for his findings. (see links in my about me) Later he only stated that there was some anthropogenic impact that could not be predicted 100 years out, but that what we’re doing was good for the plants.
1/2 Obama stop offshore drilling until it was reinstated. Only one permit has been issued since it was reinstated. This could cause a $5 a gallon increase, because we would grow dependent upon foreign nations we are not allies with in order to provide our oil. Cap and Trade (American Power Act) would increase gas prices increase by $2.58 a gallon according to George C. Marshall Institute& taxes on the average household up to $3200 according to the RNC
@krunchyjd global warming might not be a tool for a one world government. But there is no question it is a tool for cape and trade. Which is just a money making scam. Take the ideology out of it and look at it. The end of the day it's not a scam on big business it's a scam on every American that will pay more for EVERYTHING. Do to cape and trade And OPEC setting unrealistic fuel prices. Please please look at cape and trade look up carbon trading
Maybe we should stop listening to oil company propoganda, go to renewable energy, and end the power of cartels and monopolies.
How about if every individual , small business, and community were able to use a lot less energy, to generate what they needed themselves from free sources?
this - of course, is OPEC, and the oil companies nightmare - and you are their happy tool.
@dieseldudee I know what cap and trade is, although I dont know what cape and trade is, (probably something to do with super heroes). I dont prefer cap and trade, I prefer a revenue neutral carbon TAX. An addiction to oil makes no sense, in so many ways.
@krunchyjd look who owns the carbon trading banks in Europe making billions off of nothing in ideal. That cost every single person in those countries. One small group of people. That same group of people where the pushers of global warming. Follow the money that's all it's about. If global warming was real would the sex poodle still fly in his private jet. Or is he just trying to make a few hundred billion a year off cape and trade.
@krunchyjd I believe we are going to drain the rest of the worlds oil to remove there power now Iran, Russia. So in 100 years when we are truly low America will start to use are own oil. And look up the rothchilds see what they own see what they have done in the past and what there goal is. I don't mean the stupid you tube videos that don't have to be backed by anything (greenman3160).
Don't be a pawn in the rothchilds family game for a one world government. Do your own research about the roots of global warming what the original plan was. It's all about power and money the ones that push global warming the most always have billions to make off of it. GE there global green bank the carbon trading firm in new York owned by the sex poodle him self to name a few. Search rothchild global warming 1982 the old man lays the plans out.
@jxvwp there is more than enough oil off the coast of America and in Alaska before the tree huggers stopped drilling it was believed to be of the largest oil field in the world. Then will tell OPEC to go fist themselves.
@dieseldudee Why do you believe in conspiracy rubbish. Where do you get the idea that "there is more than enough oil off the coast of America and in Alaska", from. Why would the US get oil from the oil shale of Canada, instead if what you are saying is correct, because shale oil is muchmore environmentally distructive. The US production of oil peaked in 1970... One world government, ... Alien plots, Lizard people, next..
Because you facts came from doctored science. Drive your smart car recycle and all the other crap you tree huggers do I will drive my 6500lb diesel truck with 650rwhp blowing smoke all over the place and we will if I can speed up global warming for you no promises but I will try my best
There is a reason why he is so scared of talking about the emails. They prove the "science" behind his movies are lies doctored results. A mockery of science. Search IPCC emails or climate gate. give them a read a see if you still buy into the global warming scam
If you want to see the TRUTH about global warming not some hack beliefs.
Why 'man-made global warming' is anti-scientific nonsense. 1of4
There is a reason why greenman3160 will not talk about the emails from the IPCC " lead global warming scientist". They disprove or at the very least discredit global warming scientist
What about the emails from leading global warming scientist? Why won't you talk about those? you can't ignore facts just cause they don't support your conclusion.
@greenman3610 it was settled outside of court. Come on smart guy I thought you would know that. What about the emails why will no one comment about the emails
Then you should have no problem pointing me to a news item indicating where you got that information. Again, making things up won't get you respect here.
But post away. You are helping me make my points about uninformed, dunning-kruger (google it) challenged deniers.
Have any of you read the leaked emails? Or have any ideal what's in them that's what put the nail in the global warming coffin. That's why they changed the name to climate change better PR I guess. Only the Hollywood D-bags are still spouting that crap democratic politicians what touch global warming with a 20 foot pole. The earth is not flat and global warming is not caused by man
@skydancer365 that little quote you posted where did you find that. I will assume it was from a global warming forum. Because that is not true at all. The 30,000 scientist that filled the law suite was in 2007 or 2008.
@greenman3160 I think you personally have been fighting so long to get global warming to catch on and you pissed you got played for a fool buy the same people you don't dare to question. So your just gonna keep on spouting doctored and edited science. In the hope that more weak minded ill-informed people will see your videos and agree with your fake reality.
In this video I have posted multiple interviews with leading military and intelligence figures that you say are "weak minded", yet you offer no alternative citations or references.
That's the way people get respect around here - just a hint.
@greenman3610 I agree with you on most things, except, that I tend to believe that people often get respected opinions when their beliefs are based on unsubstantiated crap, IF what they say is convienient for people. Many of the deniers dont want to hear they are wrong, even when faced with scientific evidence. Greenman3610, I agree with you 100% on global warming, but have to say, you have too much faith in people, UNFORTUNATELY. Call me a pessimistic, but your disscusion re oil lover shows it.
@greenman3160 and why should people believe you? You post videos on you tube? Don't know if you make them but this one is all twisted stats. so why would any of you other videos be honest? What about the emails did you debunk those. That's when most people that still believed in man made global warming jumped ship.
Again, I don't ask people to believe me. I post information from credible sources.
Sorry, I don't get my talking points from some blogger with a high school degree.
I prefer the actual scientists who work in the field, and if you check around, I make it clear what documents or organizations I am quoting, so it's all checkable, unlike your rants.
2 hours before the debate they cancelled. Why would they do that if all the scientist agree? That's a mystery!! Why does the sex poodles kick people out of his conferences that ask a simple question. About carbon levels in core samples from around 1800 being higher than the levels in modern core samples. Global warming is a scam to make billions pushed by GE in the early 80s picked up by the gore after he lost the election to make some coin. GE green bank out of Chica
@skydancer365 yea I have my facts upside down you sure about that chief. In 2007 are those the same scientist that had the emails saying to doctor there finding to support global warming. If ALL the scientist agree why don't they have a debate with the "deniers" why are they so scared to do it. The sex poodle and James carman where going to debate some "deniers" that where going to air it live the global warming team said it can't be aired live and they want editing control. The "deniers" agree
@greenman3160 back up the video you posted. Or admit it BS money making scam. What about the 30,000 scientist that filled a class action law suite on al gore for doctoring documents and presenting them as fact remember the debate is over. Or the scientist that sued for slander after gore twisted his finding took it out of content and put it In his stupid movie.
See even the clown that posted this video can't back it up trys to make a joke out of a legit questions. But you global warming types have never been to much for substance. Let's believe in some thing that NO ONE will debate on or back up. Just BS loud mouths that never shut up even when all the facts support another out come.
Who's the crook?the people that listen to al gore and GE scientist. Or the ones that listen to ALL the other scientist that call it BS. climate change global warming was a scam to make GE and gore billionaires it almost worked to. The biggest global warming pusher was GE. Search global green bank Chicago
You mean, like these? "With the release of the revised statement by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in 2007, no remaining scientific body of national or international standing is known to reject the basic findings of human influence on recent climate change."
@greenman3610 what about the emails from gores crew telling scientist to doctor there findings to support global warming or they will be black booked. It pissed enough people off you had to change the name to climate change I guess better pr. If global warming is real why will no scientist debate for it. And most scientist call it BS. Or the fact that carbon levels rise with temp not the other way around.
I love how pundits at Fox News have no problem citing the New York Times when it suits them, but in the next breath will make fun of it for being a leftist media propaganda outlet no better than Pravda (Правда) or Das Reich.
I thought that there was another point to all this. There are many good reasons to reduce dependance on fossil fuel. I do not know if climate change is real but the battle over resources certainly is. As populations increase this will get worse. Sustainability is not just about climate change. It is what many of todays wars are about. Iraq and Iran etc, resources and oil. Over fishing is real. Pollution is real. Water scarcity is real. Starvation is real. We need to get smarter.
NOAA, July 15, 2010: June & Year-to-Date Global Temperatures were WARMEST on record
* The combined global land and ocean average surface temperature for June 2010 was the warmest on record at 61.1°F (16.2°C), which is 1.22°F (0.68°C) above the 20th century average of 59.9°F (15.5°C).
* The global June land surface temperature was 1.93°F (1.07°C) above the 20th century average of 55.9 °F (13.3°C) — the warmest on record.
If man was able to rip a hole in the ozone layer in less than 80 years and fix it in approximately a decade why is it so hard to comprehend that we could impact the climate as well. Is it because of the risk of the loss of luxuries? I really dont get it. If you dont believe that this is happening, you either must not be intelligent enough to understand, too lazy to do the research, too greedy to give anything up, or to focused on looking cool for your political party (Fox News).
Ok, I’ll research for you, satellite temperature recordings from the last 20 years show a decline over the last 10yrs, Hence, “ we can’t hide the decline and it’s a travesty we can’t”, Solar activity is far more inline with temperature trends than CO2, Medieval age far hotter than today, Bronze age towns found under glaziers? Wow, how'd they get there? making the big banks richer is going to do nothing, slugging a huge tax on co2 is about the rich getting richer and more control, that’s al!
"we can't hide the decline and its a travesty we can't"
Holy crap, you've just set the bar for cluelessness, in mashing together two separate out of context quotes from 2 hacked emails from 2 separate people, and getting them both wrong.
Best you view my vid "Climate Crock sacks Hack Attack part 1",
so you can avoid continuing to make an absolute idiot of yourself.
I'm sorry but you would have to be a idiot to believe that man made climate change is real, why was the medievle age so much hotter than today? to many cows farting? it's a bust, get over it and start thinking for yourself, IT'S BULLSHIT!
IF WE ALL RIGHT IN CAPS THAT MEANS WE CAN MAKE IT GO AWAY AND WE DON'T HAVE TO LIKE CITE ANY INFORMATION OR SOURCES BECAUSE RUSH TOLD ME I'M RIGHT AND I BELIEVE HIM.
@i8uNWO Dont focus on the result, focus on the cause. The reason for climate change is the key. The carbon which we are now releasing, and have been, is largely from the KT extinction, a time of extremely high temperatures. Greenhouse effect is known. It all makes sense. The science is solid, the politics aren't. Sorry dude, but you are obviously the idiot. You choose to not educate yourself concerning the topic. You are whats wrong with the world.
"There is no climate change. There is no climate change. THERE IS NO CLIMATE CHANGE." " The climate always changes. the climate always changes. THE CLIMATE ALWAYS CHANGES.""Climate change is good. climate change is good. CLIMATE CHANGE IS GOOD." " Squawk Squawk, peck peck, woo hoo... petroleum parrot wants another blow out. "
Denial is above disconnecting from reality. Fox don't care about the real world, it's not their business. They are promoting the oil industry under the direction of Rupert Murdoch. It's a dirty business with no moral restraints.
"the boys in iran dont like it..." Nice move ... ;) But I hope you know that ahmadinejad actually is on "our" side... he / the iran knows whats going on with emissions... Thats why they want nuclear plants. (despite that they have "some" oil and gas...) ...The war-freaks and hiroshima bombers abuse this and claim that iran trys to develope atomic bombs to make war against "the west". Its ridiculous.
after watching this video it hit me that the oil wars aren't in the future, they are now. we have been fighting for oil since the Persian gulf war if not before that
Oil is not an inherently bad thing that man needs to "get away from". It is time for the next fuel, but oil was here to fuel the revolution around the world in transportation and technology and standard of living unrivaled in history.
@DieFatorLiveThin I wouldn't count on that. Polar amplification suggests that temps in polar regions are going to be higher but that also means that it's going to be very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. If you've ever been to northern Alaska you'll know that 24 hour summer daylight can be brutal.
.
I spent a summer bicycle touring in Alaska years back and I very clearly remember baking in my tent at 3am with the sun beating down.
@treeplanter99 Sorry, didn't mean suggest that winters would be colder. They just are still going to be really cold. They will still have 24 hr darkness in the winter.
.
But I also think what is being pointed out by the military in Peter's video here is, human populations are going to get pushed northward and concentrated much more than they currently are. That is what presents a security concern for a lot of nations.
This is not a zero sum game. We all live on this planet and it makes no difference who produces energy, so long as those who do place the oil on the international market--for which so many financial incentives exist. Unfortunately, some energies impose costs offsite, these are called 'externalities'. Pollution is a negative externality, employment is a positive externality, etc. If polluters do not compensate the rest of us fairly for the trouble they cause, we're bollixed.
We're all gonna die! Because of global cooling, err, I mean global warming, errrr I mean climate change. I am surrounded by idiots.....( buying one thousand dollar a gallon fuel)
oh, and I love the way it tries to act like I am the reason little boys blow themselves up. I am the one responsible for terrorism. Turn the rear view mirror to me! What a load of bung. Unlike most, I did my homework. I know what inspires terror. I know why "terrorists" do what they do: I know why they blow themselves up. It's called Islam. This is crystal clear if we would only crack a book and shed our ignorance of it.
@robhoneycutt First, by you saying "twisted logic", it reveals your complete and utter ignorance of the topic. If you have a question: ask. Not every Muslim is a terrorist but nearly every terrorist is a Muslim. That's because they are following in the footsteps of Islam's lone founder- Muhammed-perhaps the most evil terrorist to ever live.
@robhoneycutt You could say that, but it would be ignorant and errant. Remember the 2007 Airport attack? Yes, I believe it was a Doctor. Bin Laden has more money than anyone you've ever known and the world's foremost authority on Quranic studies, professor at the worlds leading Islamic Institute....is now a convicted terrorist. I think poverty is eliminated.
@Woobaka Like I said, not all Muslims are terrorists, nearly all terrorists are Muslim. Do you really want to compare lists of acts of terrorism? Moreover, your example targeted Gov and their offices. Islam says "kill every Jew" and "wipe the Christians out till the last".
@agat0r And your proposal to eradicate Islam is the answer? Sorry, but that's utterly nuts. How would you even do it? Genocide of millions of innocent people would be the only feasible way, so well done for exposing yourself as someone who supports genocide. The large majority of Muslims, just like the vast majority of Christians, don't take their holy scripture literally. If you oppose terrorism, that's fine, but stop being such a damned bigot and try to think about some reasonable solutions.
Most people don't know that in the early 1990s, Terry Nichols, attended a Muslim militant meeting on the predominantly Islamic island of Mindanao, in the Philippines. Terrorists, Ramzi Yousef, Abdul Hakim Murad, and Wali Khan Amin Shah, were all present at the meeting. Sandy Burglar stole docs and Clinton and Reno were happy to blame right wing wackos. Islam was more involved than you think.
@agat0r And worse is the implication of what you say. If Islam is the root of terrorism then the answer to terrorism is to eradicate the Islamic religion.
@robhoneycutt Yes, that is the solution. Just like it was the solution to the KKK. We didn't need to kill all the idiots in white-we just needed to expose the doctrine. Once that happened, the KKK was done. The truth was openly admitted about the group and adherrents were no more. Our political correctness prohibits this today, so it will be our demise.
@robhoneycutt Come on man. Do you really wish to engage in this debate? I'll ask you to point to a single piece of Christian Scripture that calls for, condones or rewards for the deeds of the KKK and you will produce nothing. Nor can you point to a single example of someone shouting God's name as they murdered as Muslim do when they shout the name of their god-Allah.
@agat0r Hey, dude, you are the one opening this can of worms. I'm just pointing at the nasty mess.
.
You might want to start reading the bible. It is full of murder, rape, pillaging, slavery, and pretty much everything you'd expect from the bronze age. As is the koran. The two are extremely similar texts. How people interpret them today is the issue. Yes there are Islamic extremists. And there are Christian extremists. To reject that is to be phenomenally myopic.
@robhoneycutt Why are you debating religioni w/ me. Clearly, you are clueless. First, the Bible and Quran couldn't be more polar opposite if they tried so that shows your knowledge of the two right there. And as I predicted, not a single "Christian" verse condoning the KKK. Gee, how did I know? Next, it's getting a little iritating to hear the uninitiated say "extremists" What makes these Muslims extremists? You can't answer that.
@agat0r Hitler was a fascist and no socialist, you can ask Russia. First on his list was the trade unionist followed by handy capped.
The Jews were the largest demographic murdered. The blond blue eyed master race ended up bong smoking surfers in California but at least they are doing something more productive.
As far as someone shouting gods name as they murdered Muslims it was called the crusades. Abraham is tied to both religions, it seems to be the same God.
@bflatkitty Hitlers party was called the socialist party LOL.End of debate on that issue. Next, the crusaders were not even Christian let alone shout God's name. Abraham has zero to do with Islam and they only seem to be the same God to those who do not know either of them. Now before eyou blow a gasget on the crusaders issue, let me explain:
It is a historical fact that the Crusaders weren't Christians. They couldn't have been. Four centuries had passed since the last sermon was given in a language common to the people of Europe. The first Bible to be printed in the vulgar tongue, John Wycliffe's, wouldn't find quill for another four centuries. To be a "Christian" one must know Christ. He could not have been known to the men who fought.
Delusional is driving a battery powered car which plugs into the coal driven electric grid and act as if it is somehow "green". Delusional is hoping that we can make and export solar panels cheaper than the Chinese. Delusional is fighting a war and never even naming an enemy. Delusional is engaging in a debate on a topic which you are utterly ignorant.
@agat0r 1) Electric motors for cars are over 90% efficient, as opposed to internal combustion, which is about 30% efficient. "Well to wheel" efficiency, even when power is generated by coal, electric cars (especially plug-ins) are far more efficient. Sorry. That's just a fact. Top that off with the fact that a lot of electricity is generated with natural gas and a growing number of clean energy alternatives, it's far better no matter how you slice it.
@robhoneycutt 1. No one wants stupid electric green cars. They are pathetic and worthless. They have no balls, and will never have enough torque to pull any weight. I don't care what way your liberal minds wish to justifyt, you will never see one at the boat ramp or pulling a lawn care trailer. More efficient LOL Yeah right. Most of our electricity comes from coal, so feel good about yourself as you plug in your golf cart.
And then realize how silly your quest is when you look at the likes of a China. Just look at a random picture of China today-look at the sky. Do you think you are making a difference Do you think it';s even possible? Next, "making: stuff is the issue when this latest liar in the white house claims this move is helped by increased exports. It's all a lie. Just like global cooling errr I mean global warming errr I mean climate change.
@agat0r My wife is Chinese. I speak Chinese and we travel to visit family there every year. I've been traveling to China for 20 years. I have a much deeper knowledge of China than you ever will.
.
China is currently adding wind and solar generation to their grid at a rate that is 5X what we currently are. They're getting WAY out ahead of us with regards to climate change and improving the lives of their citizens. They have a long road ahead of them but at least they're doing something.
@robhoneycutt A much deeper knowledge of China than I? Weird. All I said is what every person with a set of eyes already knows-it is polluted over there to the point where you can't see a celestial body in the sky. It is disgusting!! I don't need to go there-I can see it with my own eyes. Are you going to debate this too? BTW, global warming is a lie. It is being used to fleece us morons. I think we are the dumbest people to ever walk the earth.
They used to have TVs in the 20th century, didn't they? Back in the days when there was no YouTube. I've heard some people used to sit in front of television sets for hours on end watching stuff they hated and then shouting abuse at the screen. How different things are now!
@agat0r I'll just say this: London in the late 1800s. US east coast at the turn of the 20th century. Every nation that has ever industrialized has gone through the same thing. No reason to think that China will somehow avoid the same thing. But what they are doing is catching up faster than anyone in the past ever has. Their government is spending 5X what we are on their national smart grid. 10X what we are on wind and solar.
"BTW, global warming is a lie. It is being used to fleece us morons. I think we are the dumbest people to ever walk the earth."
Think about how much most people in developed countries spend on fossil fuels and think about the profits the fossil fuel companies are making. Who is really doing the fleecing, and who is behind the propaganda being pumped out that tries to suggest we can just carry on burning fossil fuels with no adverse consequences?
@legjoints It's a lot deeper than that. The fiefdoms created by the Brits and us giving away oil fields has and will huant us forever. They are our assets, but with the OPECer's we are sending them a billion dollars a day. These are our enemies. We are funding our own funeral. That mt friend will be the adverse conditioin-not some phoney carbon or CO2 output.
@agat0r said "We are funding our own funeral." Hey, you are making the argument FOR carbon credits. The idea is to get off of foreign oil and become energy independent. That is the goal of a carbon tax. Fund the development of our own clean energy infrastructure. Keep both the money and the jobs in the US. That is EXACTLY what the green movement is about.
It seems you're presenting yet another reason for us (in the west) to get off our addiction to fossil fuels - like the example Woolsley gave in the video, imaging someone who thinks climate change is the biggest threat and someone else who says no, it's terrorism we should be worried about, but when they start getting down to what action needs to be taken to minimize their respective favourite threats they find there's a remarkable degree of agreement between them.
@robhoneycutt Unlike most, I admit it when I am wrong. This car was very impressive, and FAST but so is my RC car. I need to do research on it but I still see many problems. Why must it be charge after each run? It takes 20 mins to charge after a 12 second run? How much weight can it pull, and for how long? How much money etc Regardless, I learned something so thanks for showing it to me.
@agat0r Hey, that's just a guy building an electric dragster in his garage on his own nickel. Electric motors have full torque from zero through 13,000 rpms. ICE's need gears in order keep the engine within a narrow optimal torque range. Electric motors are also much smaller and lighter for similar HP. The batteries are the key, though. That little dragster needed 20 mins to recharge because they only have 15 amp circuits at the track. At 50 amps it would refuel as fast as the other cars.
@robhoneycutt But why re -charge it? Let's say your battery life was only 1 hour. Did it get drained by going fast? Does the last minute of juice/power have the same HP as the first minute? Than why re charge?
Many thousands of $ in batteries I asume. I don't like replacing one let alone 300.
@agat0r You should also check out the Tesla Model S. Zero to 60 in 5.6 seconds. 300 mile range. Cost of a full charge? About $5. Gas cars cost about $0.15 per mile to drive. The Tesla cost $0.02 per mile to drive. And it's freaking HOT!!
@robhoneycutt Saw it on TV the other day. Pretty sharp. Gotta admit, they are not what I thought. Just not sure if battery power will be good enough. 300 mile range however would be sufficient for most. They sure would make a good vehicle to sneak up on something. I assume they are silent(or close to it).
@agat0r The other thing about the recharge of the electric car is this... Every car refuels after each race. On the 1/4 mile you want your car to be as light as possible because you want to accelerate as quickly as possible. More weight and the slower your acceleration. ALL the cars only use enough fuel for the one race. For the electric he's only using enough batteries to run those 12 seconds full out.
@agat0r There are some great technologies coming down the pipe for electric cars. New lighter batteries are coming. Lithium Air technology. There are also new ultra capacitors coming. Ultra capacitors can charge super fast (a couple of minutes for a full charge) and are also very light. Ultra capacitors can also discharge very quickly making bursts of energy available at any moment.
@agat0r Also, as pointed out in one of greenman's previous videos, electric cars have this huge advantage in that they will be recharged during off peak hours when most power plants are running spin reserve. That smoothes out the demand cycle for energy and means, according to several studies, we could convert nearly the entire US fleet of automobiles to electric and NOT have to add even one additional power plant as a result. That is a win-win all around. Oh, except for oil companies.
@robhoneycutt Interesting. Everything you see is petroleum based so I woldn't feel too sorry for Oil Co's. And I don't see big machinery being replaced by battery nor planes etc. How long would you guess it will be before 2 or so people on my block have a battery car. Presently there are none.
@agat0r Once electric cars get started I think the transition will happen pretty quickly. Nissan is essentially said they're "betting the farm" on electric cars. Chevy Volt is coming. A whole host of others are also on the way. There are dozens of new battery manufacturing facilities in construction right now. With all this going on battery technology should jump into overdrive and we'll see huge gains. Gas cars are going to be a thing of the past in 20 years.
@agat0r The aircraft industry is working on a long list of alternatives. Right now the leader seems to be jet fuel from algae.
.
With advances in the energy density of lithium batteries electric aircraft should be viable in maybe 15 or 20 years. Electric motors have a lot of advantages for aircraft. They have a great weight to HP ratio. They're not dependent on air intake. ICE for aircraft require turbo normalizers to fly higher than about 12k ft. [cont]
@agat0r [cont] And electric motors are far more simple than ICE's making them far more reliable, easier to maintain, etc. Electric motors will enable all small aircraft to perform similar to turbo prop aircraft.
The issue for electric aircraft is only going to be energy density for batteries or ultra capacitors. Expansion of the electric car industry should take care of that.
@agat0r In fact, that's the other fantastic thing that is going to make the public fall in love with electric cars. Virtually no maintenance. No oil changes. Almost no drive train. No 30k, 60k or 90k check ups. No coolants. No belts and pulleys. No injectors, igniters, etc. Almost all the high mortality parts are eliminated. Just the occasional brake pads and tires, and then a battery swap every 100k.
@agat0r 2) "Making" solar panels is not the issue. Installing solar is. Can't outsource installation. But wind turbines is different. They are closer in manufacturing (my expertise) to making automobiles and that scale of production is better done closer to the end use market.
@robhoneycutt Since this is your expertise, tell me if this is accurate. A man put up a wind turbine for his home. He claims it saves him around 50% and it costs around 26K. My bill is around 150 a month. That saves about 75 dollars every month. That means it pays for itself in 347 months. Therefore in just 30 yrs, it will pay for itself LOL Man, this idea is brilliant. What an investment. No wonder we see them everyw..err no we don't.
@agat0r No. I wouldn't suggest that people put personal size windmills on their homes. Large, megawatt and larger, turbines have a rapid payback for investors. And then after payback the "fuel" for the turbines is free for the remaining life (30-50 years). Why do you think so many people are investing in wind power these days? Electric capacity for wind is being added at a faster pace than for any other source.
@agat0r Your minor energy usage would not require a $26k wind turbine, obviously. Thankfully, a turbine to zero such a small electric footprint would run you less than $6K (around 5-6 years for payback). The $26K wind turbine is for guys like me, with $500-$600 energy bills. Again, the payback falls in around 5-6 years, when you scale your personal usage appropriately to the technology options.

@DieFatorLiveThin I wouldn't count on that. Polar amplification suggests that temps in polar regions are going to be higher but that also means that it's going to be very cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. If you've ever been to northern Alaska you'll know that 24 hour summer daylight can be brutal.
.
I spent a summer bicycle touring in Alaska years back and I very clearly remember baking in my tent at 3am with the sun beating down.

treeplanter99 1 year ago
@treeplanter99 Sorry, didn't mean suggest that winters would be colder. They just are still going to be really cold. They will still have 24 hr darkness in the winter.
.
But I also think what is being pointed out by the military in Peter's video here is, human populations are going to get pushed northward and concentrated much more than they currently are. That is what presents a security concern for a lot of nations.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
This is not a zero sum game. We all live on this planet and it makes no difference who produces energy, so long as those who do place the oil on the international market--for which so many financial incentives exist. Unfortunately, some energies impose costs offsite, these are called 'externalities'. Pollution is a negative externality, employment is a positive externality, etc. If polluters do not compensate the rest of us fairly for the trouble they cause, we're bollixed.

@robhoneycutt First, by you saying "twisted logic", it reveals your complete and utter ignorance of the topic. If you have a question: ask. Not every Muslim is a terrorist but nearly every terrorist is a Muslim. That's because they are following in the footsteps of Islam's lone founder- Muhammed-perhaps the most evil terrorist to ever live.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r By the same token I can easily say that every terrorist is poor so poverty causes terrorism.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt You could say that, but it would be ignorant and errant. Remember the 2007 Airport attack? Yes, I believe it was a Doctor. Bin Laden has more money than anyone you've ever known and the world's foremost authority on Quranic studies, professor at the worlds leading Islamic Institute....is now a convicted terrorist. I think poverty is eliminated.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r Terrorism is also implemented by Irish political extremists. I think Islam is eliminated.
Woobaka 1 year ago
@Woobaka Like I said, not all Muslims are terrorists, nearly all terrorists are Muslim. Do you really want to compare lists of acts of terrorism? Moreover, your example targeted Gov and their offices. Islam says "kill every Jew" and "wipe the Christians out till the last".
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r And your proposal to eradicate Islam is the answer? Sorry, but that's utterly nuts. How would you even do it? Genocide of millions of innocent people would be the only feasible way, so well done for exposing yourself as someone who supports genocide. The large majority of Muslims, just like the vast majority of Christians, don't take their holy scripture literally. If you oppose terrorism, that's fine, but stop being such a damned bigot and try to think about some reasonable solutions.
Woobaka 1 year ago
@agat0r So, was Timothy McVey a Muslim?
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
Most people don't know that in the early 1990s, Terry Nichols, attended a Muslim militant meeting on the predominantly Islamic island of Mindanao, in the Philippines. Terrorists, Ramzi Yousef, Abdul Hakim Murad, and Wali Khan Amin Shah, were all present at the meeting. Sandy Burglar stole docs and Clinton and Reno were happy to blame right wing wackos. Islam was more involved than you think.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r And worse is the implication of what you say. If Islam is the root of terrorism then the answer to terrorism is to eradicate the Islamic religion.
.
Catastrophic failure of logic on your part, here.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
"If Islam is the root of terrorism then the answer to terrorism is to eradicate the Islamic religion. "
Exactly.
"Catastrophic failure of logic on your part,"
How so? Killing Muslims does nothing. Those are the symptoms-not the source.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r So, literally, your solution to terrorism is to eradicate Islam?
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt Yes, that is the solution. Just like it was the solution to the KKK. We didn't need to kill all the idiots in white-we just needed to expose the doctrine. Once that happened, the KKK was done. The truth was openly admitted about the group and adherrents were no more. Our political correctness prohibits this today, so it will be our demise.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r So, do you also propose exposing Christianity in the same way? (Remember, the KKK was based in Christianity.)
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt Come on man. Do you really wish to engage in this debate? I'll ask you to point to a single piece of Christian Scripture that calls for, condones or rewards for the deeds of the KKK and you will produce nothing. Nor can you point to a single example of someone shouting God's name as they murdered as Muslim do when they shout the name of their god-Allah.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r Hey, dude, you are the one opening this can of worms. I'm just pointing at the nasty mess.
.
You might want to start reading the bible. It is full of murder, rape, pillaging, slavery, and pretty much everything you'd expect from the bronze age. As is the koran. The two are extremely similar texts. How people interpret them today is the issue. Yes there are Islamic extremists. And there are Christian extremists. To reject that is to be phenomenally myopic.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt Why are you debating religioni w/ me. Clearly, you are clueless. First, the Bible and Quran couldn't be more polar opposite if they tried so that shows your knowledge of the two right there. And as I predicted, not a single "Christian" verse condoning the KKK. Gee, how did I know? Next, it's getting a little iritating to hear the uninitiated say "extremists" What makes these Muslims extremists? You can't answer that.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r Hitler was a fascist and no socialist, you can ask Russia. First on his list was the trade unionist followed by handy capped.
The Jews were the largest demographic murdered. The blond blue eyed master race ended up bong smoking surfers in California but at least they are doing something more productive.
As far as someone shouting gods name as they murdered Muslims it was called the crusades. Abraham is tied to both religions, it seems to be the same God.
bflatkitty 1 year ago
@bflatkitty Hitlers party was called the socialist party LOL.End of debate on that issue. Next, the crusaders were not even Christian let alone shout God's name. Abraham has zero to do with Islam and they only seem to be the same God to those who do not know either of them. Now before eyou blow a gasget on the crusaders issue, let me explain:
agat0r 1 year ago
It is a historical fact that the Crusaders weren't Christians. They couldn't have been. Four centuries had passed since the last sermon was given in a language common to the people of Europe. The first Bible to be printed in the vulgar tongue, John Wycliffe's, wouldn't find quill for another four centuries. To be a "Christian" one must know Christ. He could not have been known to the men who fought.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r You are truly delusional if you think the Crusaders were not Christians.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
Delusional is driving a battery powered car which plugs into the coal driven electric grid and act as if it is somehow "green". Delusional is hoping that we can make and export solar panels cheaper than the Chinese. Delusional is fighting a war and never even naming an enemy. Delusional is engaging in a debate on a topic which you are utterly ignorant.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r 1) Electric motors for cars are over 90% efficient, as opposed to internal combustion, which is about 30% efficient. "Well to wheel" efficiency, even when power is generated by coal, electric cars (especially plug-ins) are far more efficient. Sorry. That's just a fact. Top that off with the fact that a lot of electricity is generated with natural gas and a growing number of clean energy alternatives, it's far better no matter how you slice it.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago

Just like global cooling errr I mean global warming errr I mean climate change.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r My wife is Chinese. I speak Chinese and we travel to visit family there every year. I've been traveling to China for 20 years. I have a much deeper knowledge of China than you ever will.
.
China is currently adding wind and solar generation to their grid at a rate that is 5X what we currently are. They're getting WAY out ahead of us with regards to climate change and improving the lives of their citizens. They have a long road ahead of them but at least they're doing something.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt A much deeper knowledge of China than I? Weird. All I said is what every person with a set of eyes already knows-it is polluted over there to the point where you can't see a celestial body in the sky. It is disgusting!! I don't need to go there-I can see it with my own eyes. Are you going to debate this too? BTW, global warming is a lie. It is being used to fleece us morons. I think we are the dumbest people to ever walk the earth.

"Ever see a thing called TV?"
They used to have TVs in the 20th century, didn't they? Back in the days when there was no YouTube. I've heard some people used to sit in front of television sets for hours on end watching stuff they hated and then shouting abuse at the screen. How different things are now!
legjoints 1 year ago
@agat0r I'll just say this: London in the late 1800s. US east coast at the turn of the 20th century. Every nation that has ever industrialized has gone through the same thing. No reason to think that China will somehow avoid the same thing. But what they are doing is catching up faster than anyone in the past ever has. Their government is spending 5X what we are on their national smart grid. 10X what we are on wind and solar.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r
"BTW, global warming is a lie. It is being used to fleece us morons. I think we are the dumbest people to ever walk the earth."
Think about how much most people in developed countries spend on fossil fuels and think about the profits the fossil fuel companies are making. Who is really doing the fleecing, and who is behind the propaganda being pumped out that tries to suggest we can just carry on burning fossil fuels with no adverse consequences?
legjoints 1 year ago
@legjoints It's a lot deeper than that. The fiefdoms created by the Brits and us giving away oil fields has and will huant us forever. They are our assets, but with the OPECer's we are sending them a billion dollars a day. These are our enemies. We are funding our own funeral. That mt friend will be the adverse conditioin-not some phoney carbon or CO2 output.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r said "We are funding our own funeral." Hey, you are making the argument FOR carbon credits. The idea is to get off of foreign oil and become energy independent. That is the goal of a carbon tax. Fund the development of our own clean energy infrastructure. Keep both the money and the jobs in the US. That is EXACTLY what the green movement is about.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r

@agat0r How about you tell me if this car has any torque at all...
watch?v=UAYrsEOxqYc
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt Unlike most, I admit it when I am wrong. This car was very impressive, and FAST but so is my RC car. I need to do research on it but I still see many problems. Why must it be charge after each run? It takes 20 mins to charge after a 12 second run? How much weight can it pull, and for how long? How much money etc Regardless, I learned something so thanks for showing it to me.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r Hey, that's just a guy building an electric dragster in his garage on his own nickel. Electric motors have full torque from zero through 13,000 rpms. ICE's need gears in order keep the engine within a narrow optimal torque range. Electric motors are also much smaller and lighter for similar HP. The batteries are the key, though. That little dragster needed 20 mins to recharge because they only have 15 amp circuits at the track. At 50 amps it would refuel as fast as the other cars.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt But why re -charge it? Let's say your battery life was only 1 hour. Did it get drained by going fast? Does the last minute of juice/power have the same HP as the first minute? Than why re charge?
Many thousands of $ in batteries I asume. I don't like replacing one let alone 300.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r You should also check out the Tesla Model S. Zero to 60 in 5.6 seconds. 300 mile range. Cost of a full charge? About $5. Gas cars cost about $0.15 per mile to drive. The Tesla cost $0.02 per mile to drive. And it's freaking HOT!!
teslamotors . com/models/
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt Saw it on TV the other day. Pretty sharp. Gotta admit, they are not what I thought. Just not sure if battery power will be good enough. 300 mile range however would be sufficient for most. They sure would make a good vehicle to sneak up on something. I assume they are silent(or close to it).
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r The other thing about the recharge of the electric car is this... Every car refuels after each race. On the 1/4 mile you want your car to be as light as possible because you want to accelerate as quickly as possible. More weight and the slower your acceleration. ALL the cars only use enough fuel for the one race. For the electric he's only using enough batteries to run those 12 seconds full out.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r There are some great technologies coming down the pipe for electric cars. New lighter batteries are coming. Lithium Air technology. There are also new ultra capacitors coming. Ultra capacitors can charge super fast (a couple of minutes for a full charge) and are also very light. Ultra capacitors can also discharge very quickly making bursts of energy available at any moment.
.
The future for electric cars is extremely bright!
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r Also, as pointed out in one of greenman's previous videos, electric cars have this huge advantage in that they will be recharged during off peak hours when most power plants are running spin reserve. That smoothes out the demand cycle for energy and means, according to several studies, we could convert nearly the entire US fleet of automobiles to electric and NOT have to add even one additional power plant as a result. That is a win-win all around. Oh, except for oil companies.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt Interesting. Everything you see is petroleum based so I woldn't feel too sorry for Oil Co's. And I don't see big machinery being replaced by battery nor planes etc. How long would you guess it will be before 2 or so people on my block have a battery car. Presently there are none.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r Once electric cars get started I think the transition will happen pretty quickly. Nissan is essentially said they're "betting the farm" on electric cars. Chevy Volt is coming. A whole host of others are also on the way. There are dozens of new battery manufacturing facilities in construction right now. With all this going on battery technology should jump into overdrive and we'll see huge gains. Gas cars are going to be a thing of the past in 20 years.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r The aircraft industry is working on a long list of alternatives. Right now the leader seems to be jet fuel from algae.
.
With advances in the energy density of lithium batteries electric aircraft should be viable in maybe 15 or 20 years. Electric motors have a lot of advantages for aircraft. They have a great weight to HP ratio. They're not dependent on air intake. ICE for aircraft require turbo normalizers to fly higher than about 12k ft. [cont]
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r [cont] And electric motors are far more simple than ICE's making them far more reliable, easier to maintain, etc. Electric motors will enable all small aircraft to perform similar to turbo prop aircraft.
The issue for electric aircraft is only going to be energy density for batteries or ultra capacitors. Expansion of the electric car industry should take care of that.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r In fact, that's the other fantastic thing that is going to make the public fall in love with electric cars. Virtually no maintenance. No oil changes. Almost no drive train. No 30k, 60k or 90k check ups. No coolants. No belts and pulleys. No injectors, igniters, etc. Almost all the high mortality parts are eliminated. Just the occasional brake pads and tires, and then a battery swap every 100k.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r 2) "Making" solar panels is not the issue. Installing solar is. Can't outsource installation. But wind turbines is different. They are closer in manufacturing (my expertise) to making automobiles and that scale of production is better done closer to the end use market.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@robhoneycutt Since this is your expertise, tell me if this is accurate. A man put up a wind turbine for his home. He claims it saves him around 50% and it costs around 26K. My bill is around 150 a month. That saves about 75 dollars every month. That means it pays for itself in 347 months. Therefore in just 30 yrs, it will pay for itself LOL Man, this idea is brilliant. What an investment. No wonder we see them everyw..err no we don't.
agat0r 1 year ago
@agat0r No. I wouldn't suggest that people put personal size windmills on their homes. Large, megawatt and larger, turbines have a rapid payback for investors. And then after payback the "fuel" for the turbines is free for the remaining life (30-50 years). Why do you think so many people are investing in wind power these days? Electric capacity for wind is being added at a faster pace than for any other source.
robhoneycutt 1 year ago
@agat0r Your minor energy usage would not require a $26k wind turbine, obviously. Thankfully, a turbine to zero such a small electric footprint would run you less than $6K (around 5-6 years for payback). The $26K wind turbine is for guys like me, with $500-$600 energy bills. Again, the payback falls in around 5-6 years, when you scale your personal usage appropriately to the technology options.
Think it all through, man.
