It's speculation - as long as you know that and admit that - there's nothing wrong with it. The corollaries that can be drawn from the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics are so eerily similar to some stuff that eastern philosophies say that I can understand the temptation of some to make the big leap. But pretending that you KNOW what you're talking about (Deepak Chopra, anyone ?) when you go there instead of admitting that you're just making a wild speculation is dishonest at best.
I don't buy into Orch-or either, but nice touch on cutting off Hameroff's answer to the red haired girl. A classy touch, really. Also, he never denied being a reductionist, he merely claims his position is non materialist because the quantum level implies non locality.
I'm the first to warn people about pseudoscience but you clearly have no clue about what you are talking about.
don't believe that 2 + 2 = 4 but you are sure it does, right ? truthfully you do not understand quantum theories or physics do you ? you did not explain nothing only that you thought Quantum was wrong offering no facts. quantum physics 2 + 2 does not have to be = 4 can be proven.
Thank you very much for your work on youtube, Lordimmolation. The utter quackery of the comments on this page is evidence that you are clearly making an impact. It is heartening to have people like you on the internet, keeping the balance of sanity in our favour. Keep up the good work!!
@Ahabite I dig what the dude is doing. He is trying to put the dreamers in their places so they don't lead certain of us astray. An honorable endeavor to say the least. But he has no answer as to what is happening, he is only saying what he thinks it isn't... Sorry folks, not that you care what I am writing anyway, but a coworker just told me about Sexy Sax Man and now I am too laughy to argue with smart people. Life is good! Careless whisper? Really? That dude is my hero!
See, none of the people who try to debunk this shit haven't done ANYTHING but apply themselves to science. Of course if you only work with one side of your brain can you understand it logically. USE THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR BRAIN. Your CREATIVE side. Why don't any of these academic idiots go hit up a shaman and do some ayahuasca, then tell me that 3D is even real at all compared to the spirit world. Girl sounds like she WANTS to know what she's talking about yet she's shaking she's shaking(1)
@GeoffTheGiraff If you study science AND work with ancient cultures and expand your mind with differentexperiences and substances and practices, meditations, yoga, go ahead, try it all) eventually, you'll start waking up to your creative powers and that you are molding matter and time by just walking around. even Einstein knew that time itself was an illusion created by our 5 sense in the face of 3D, and that in 4D it was all one tardyon (dot) de/mink.htm
@GeoffTheGiraff The shaking is probably anger at the bullshit that she had to listen to.
What does working with one side of the brain mean? We all avail ourselves every minute of every part of the brain. What does doing drugs have to do with reality, except that they distort our perception of it? Do you have any idea how ironic being anti-science on youtube message boards is? Enjoy your computer...and the internet...and your electricity...and central air...all creative uses of science.
the questioned is who really holds the power of truth...its a matter of what u believe in isnt..?..i suppose your just voicing your opinion to be fair...hamernoff is doing the same thing as u.lordmmolation...its all a matter of opinion in my view...its always between reasonable doubt..whatever proof and individual have...
@applestar27 I think the key distinction here that you are missing is that immolation's "opinions" are backed up by facts and logic and various scientific methodologies employed by thousands and thousands of highly intelligent people, using the latest in technology to observe and test their hypotheses. Your computer, once again, is proof that this works. Now, are you suggesting that if I believed hard enough, I could violate the laws of physics?
I have seen "magic" in my life. Human beings are immensely powerful creators. Religion took our power by vilification. They told us we were evil if we used our creative abilities. But religion never denied the ability. They knew it was real but discouraged its use. The big brains which represent mainstream science insist these powers don't exist. So religion discourages and science denies. The people are Poland, Religion is Germany and Science is Russia, we are attacked from both sides.
Science isn't supposed to be dogmatic, but that is exactly what many of the practitioners have become. You figured science was your chance to show all of the spiritual and religious idiots, the error of their ways. You would explain away everything and take God out of the equation. You were successful, for a while there. But then your research started revealing things you hadn't anticipated. You sought to disprove God but ended up knocking on God's door, and it scares you.
Easy example: You imagine someday you may meet Emma Watson, and then you go on a date... you can't move, and are not enthusiastic, I mean what would Emma say? Imagination does that, it inhibits right choices in lieu of blue sky thrills. Another example using the Matrix: The moment that Neo stopped the Sentinels in the RL, we knew the Oracle intervened... a second Matrix overlaid a messiah scenario and forced a peace. He couldn't REALLY control REAL Sentinels. Imagination, squelches pain.
Some would like to jump in here and tell me to shut up, since it is imagination which seemingly guides us into a unforeseen future and with it, we'd be mired in stagnation, but actually a parallel process of science, the twin 'induction/falsification' processes, are the sure method of moving slowly but surely ahead.
Imagination is limited and travels at less than the speed of light. You may think you can imagine traveling to far off galaxies at FTL, but in actuality, you never get there, EVER! So if anything 'hyper' can be accorded to 'imagination', it's that using it scrambles the natural precessional degradation of our cell coat discharging, and allow residual memories to remain in LaLa Land longer than they should. Some argue for the resulting euphoria, but the benefits are dubious to disastrous.
THE FACT THAT YOU USED WIKEPEDIA AS A SOURCE JUST COMPLETELY DESTROYS THE VALIDITY OF YOUR ENTIRE ARGUMENT. I WAS LISTENING TO YOUR POINTS AND NOW ANY CHANCE OF ME TAKING YOU SERIOUSLY HAS BEEN DESTROYED.
Yep, the number one comment is a paradox within itself. To say we know nothing requires us to acknowledge that we know something. Furthermore, saying that we know nothing is in actuality claiming you know more than the people who claim they no somethings but still have a lot to learn. By making this claim you are saying that you know we can't understand what we don't know and if you are saying that then you must know about the unknown. So, what is unknown is simply that. You don't know.
Lol too bad they can't "will" their theory to be objectively true; wait, how can there be objective truth if we create our own world? I guess they can will it to be true for them when everyone else goes on as normal.
All I have to say is the mystics in quantum mechanics don't represent any ultimate answer's to science but remember scientists with far out ideas for their time are a reason for the technologies we have today. Don't make mountains out of mole hills bro.
The ramtha thing is no more of a cult than being a catholic. All that statement does is try to dis-credit what is presented by that form of information. Everyone channels, it is no big thing. Whenever you come up with an idea, you are channeling your higher self. There is nothing more mysterious or woo woo about it. To paint a picture of such things in that way, is again nothing more than a way to dis-credit something that otherwise would be taken more seriously. Believing is seeing.
Well, I have not been drinking any Nikolai, just been having my own life experience that tells me this IS true. Thoughts and beliefs create your reality. I have learned that the more I focus on preventing "problems" the more they would happen. Conversely, when I let go of that focus, my reality would have less of them. Science can NOT touch upon the fact that the most of what we are at our core is NON physical. That is because all it can look at is the end result, not the cause of it.
It's funny how people have this weird idea that they have all these "facts." Most of us can't even admit that there is only one fact: THERE ARE NONE. We don't know anything. And even if that's admitted, it's rarely accepted fully. We keep speculating. But nothing of all our knowledge holds any real truth, as we're limited to five senses. Humans are so scared of not knowing the facts, they have to pretend they do. But how can we define the universe with 5 vowels and 21 other letters? It's crazy!
@Jonnyshaft3 So am I right in assuming you don't believe that 2 + 2 = 4 is a fact, or that A = A is a fact? Well how about the fact the earth is spherical or that we share a common ancestor with primates? The designer of the computer you are using has used certain knowledge of electrical circuits to produce a working machine....but I guess he doesn't know any 'facts' either?? If there is no truth then what your saying is of no more value than what I am saying from your perspective.
i see truth in both. science has don so much for us and produces many results. its the closest thing to truth we know, as religion formerly was. there might be a discovery that flips it on its ass tomorrow who knows but as it stands its the best we got. for me its a matter of researching material. few source material and i usually leave it. theoretical physicist says it all in the title theoretical! though interesting its all theory backed by #'s we created.
Basically, yes. As Albert Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." We build from knowledge, but it is often beneficial to expand into other possibilities, when our minds will permit it, with the acceptance that we may not hold to these old or new beliefs as long as we had anticipated. The flat world of one day became the round world the next because minds were willing to let go old beliefs. As you know, we can't let go of some altogether, but to be willing can help.
@LordImmolation The Earth isn't spherical. And EVERYTHING has a common ancestor. The so called facts you are citing are distracting. The truth is so much deeper than surface observations. You are attempting to describe what lives in the sea by only looking at a glass of water. Those circuits you are talking about where did the idea come from! You want to discredit the unseen creative lifeforce that permeates everything by pointing out things it has given us?
@awfullyawful This guy knows whats up. It takes looking inward and realizing you are creating at EVERY moment, and that you are acting within OTHER'S creation, and some can overpowers other's creations. It's like saying you don't exist to deny this. We are ALL creators, but there are those who would like to make us forget this fact. Pick up your hand and snap your fingers. You just created intense vibrations. That's small, you can do a LOT more.
@awfullyawful Not to be rude, but I don't think you know what words mean. How is quantum physics only concerned with "surface observations"? You are just saying words that you read from books which gave you your ideas, but have never had them subjected to a little thing called reality. You have no idea how ironic it is that you said the sea from a glass of water comment; as that is precisely what you are doing not lordimmolation.
@Ahabite Let me clarify. The creator of the video is using surface observations for the purposes of extrapolation. With the limited information available, a certain level of speculation is to be expected. My issue with this presentation is this. The dude is attempting to disqualify one side's speculation with his own speculation. I don't know the answers, you don't know the answers, and neither does the guy who made this video.
@Jonnyshaft3 but you do belive the "fact" that we have 5 vowels and 21 other letters? Or the fact that we have only 5 senses? you can't even make an argument against facts with out using facts? that's pretty sad dude.
This is a wonderful video. These "The Secret" people have created a cottage industry for atheists who favor Easter Myth. It's narcissism gone mad. And yet, most of their followers are, well, poor - and make no mistake, money is what the adherents hope to gain. And none of them of these lost souls, NOT ONE OF THEM, knows basic calculus, much less advanced mathematics.
Obviously, there is a basic truth in asserting thoughts influence outcomes, but that hos nothing to do with quantum physics.
LOL! What's the point of this video again? To prove that you're a stupid atheist? btw all quantum systems have a point of super correlation, i.e there is no randomness. We know this because the mathematics don't allow there to be a single tenable system so there's either no system or two or more entangled systems.
While I'd love to disagree with you, I did watch What the bleep and was left with an odd taste in my mouth. Aside from my opinions on J Z Knight which I won't go into, half truths do abound in the movie. It's not science.
That being said I think Stuart Hameroff is really on to something with his quantum consciousness hypothesis.
What is the human brain if not a complex way to manipulate magnetic fields in a changeable wetware environment. I do think the brain is many quantum logic gates.
you are fully misunderstanding everything about this subject and use this one documentary you have problems with to pull your argument. you just wait until the quantum revolution happens and you will be deleting this video out of embarrassment
I am currently in Yelm, WA. Where Ramtha school is based. I agree with the narrator of this video, mysticism using materialism to prove idealism by way of QT is an insult to both empirical science and truely philosophic metaphysical idealisms.
(continued)...To focus on those who denounce material and science misses a big wide world of "laymen" out there who appreciate QP for its explanation/inclusion of all matter; which is essentially energy vibrating at different speeds. This has led to the spiritual interpretation that there is no separation of anything – everything/all is connected.
This analysis is fairly narrow perspective. QP is not just about random actions of the smallest particles; it's also about the undeniable "space" (perhaps conscious energy/God?) between the particles and how this space "seems" to spontaneously create particles (hence matter). To focus on those who denounce material and science misses a big wide world of "laymen" out there who appreciate QP for its explanation/inclusion of all matter; which is essentially energy vibrating at different speeds.
Makes sense to me! Of course, our current understanding is as a novice. To be a proponent of science and ignore the wider field is, well, not very scientific. And to inadvertently keep spirituality and science separate is missing a huge opportunity for humanity’s progress. I say let them keep pondering and plugging away at their research, keep an open mind, and let the progress unfold as it always has and will continue.
the only reality is one lives and then one dies and we have to face a creator who created us. If u dont believe in Jesus as ur Lord and Savior and He paid for ur and mine sins, then u will spend an eternity in hell. repent and believe in Jesus Christ for He is the only true God of this universe and He loves u, everything in this life is immaterial or not important, only ur relationship w Jesus counts. all science relgion r partial truth, therefore they r a lie. only God is real.
While I don't know enough to comment on the science, the author seems to be bothered more by the "religious like" implications than by the poor reasoning.
@keyboardmousepad The stuff we are taught to believe in is driven by commerce and so far very successful so i would say that they "do" have a clue. google gravity and a flying paradox .
Nature has the big questions answered. we just need to fill in the details through unbiased commercial observation. Teach children to observe nature. while its free
"I don't know the answers and I don't understand the differences in these theories, therefore, no one else does."
Ignore the fact that we've been able to both create and contain anti-hydrogen by using so-called "blind belief" and "opinion". Clearly, NOBODY has any idea how this stuff works and we should just give up and say it's just nothing but religion.
Awsome video. Quantum mechnics has been distorted into philosophy and mystiscism for a very long time.
The basis of QM is simply that we can't measure things that are so small without bouncing other small things off them, so in order to draw any useable conclusions we have to assume the weirdness that people get mixed up with.
Don't drink this guy's koolaid either. He is biased like Fox News is to Ron Paul. Think for yourself as to what makes more sense. Don't be afraid like the scientific community.
You know about how Dr. Quantum talks about the Double Slit experiment and how sub-atomic particles change behavior upon observation? Don't you think it's kinda interesting that the clip doesn't detail HOW we observe sub-atomic particles? You'd think there'd be some serious changes in results when the size of a particle of light and a particle of matter become comparable. This is why Dr. Quantum misrepresents science.
@iherduliekmudkipz900 You're so right! Dr. Quantum isn't for guys like us. It's for ppl who are noobs to the science. In that perspective, it's ok for now. It's an introduction to the weird world of quantum that is still new to most.
there is no truth to opinions...its only true to you...your opinion is just that...what might be true to u ...is only for u....its like Einsteins theory of relativity...time is not a constant its only relative to u..and so are your opinions...
You are an idiot. If you disregard this then you don't believe in anything it's taken to get to this point. Just because spiritual aspects have now become PART OF science you automatically shun it, like that's what you're supposed to do when taking a scientific method? FOOL. Keep trying to separate us all. That's exactly what will help...
Just one fact Jz Knight has nothing to do with quantum mechanics. She was simply an interviewee in the movie What the Bleep Do We Know. People like Kaku, Amit Goswami, and Fred Alan Wolf have nothing to do with what she truly believes. You sir are a fool.
your opinions are certainly ironious and not based in on any facts. You obviously have not looked at the science involving plants and the effects of music, not only on the plants, but on the water used to water the plants. I realize your are threatened by things you don't understand and can't control. Why should I drink your KoolAid?
@batmandeltaforce - what science involving plants and music effects and water used to feed plants are you referring to? There are plenty of science involving these things...so which are you referring to? I would very much like to know.
@iPodscreateZombies Here is an interesting read. No it's not a scientific journal, but there is much to read on the net about the subject. Like everything else, skeptics refute any experiments, but such is the nature of a skeptic:) I think it would be a bit arrogant to definitively suggest we know what is and is not, as little as we know.
@batmandeltaforce Have you seen any study on how dogs psychically interact with their masters, regarding knowing when they are coming home, in random situations. I had a dog like that, worked for myself and came and went at random times, but my wife said she always knew 5 minutes before I got home because my dog would go to the front door. Many dogs know 20 minutes ahead. It seems that when the master decides to go home, the dogs know.
@batmandeltaforce If you ever get a chance to watch a Jane Goodall program called "When Animals Talk", don't miss it, it is amazing. There is much we don't know but a hell of a lot more we refuse to accept:)
I agree with your video in that the individuals you mentioned and context in which the information is used, is ironious, but there is something to be said for the exsitance if Consciousness.. for instance when ever you get sick. a doctor will tell you to eat fruits and veggies and more natrual substances which shows the conection to the world around us on a physical and molecular level versus the synthetic social disconnec. so although it is presented with alot of fuckery. take the good from it
Open Google search engine and read book .Seeing is Believing: First Time in World by V.K. Sonakia
From his childhood, V.K. Sonakia’s interest has lain in solving the deep mysteries of nature. His research in nature and invention revealed a story which needed to be told.

You are very stupid mr mediator. the actuality is that you are simply afraid to let go and see the actuality of fact. fact is created, so is energy. it is after all there. energy, for example, it's existence and constant creation completely destroys normal physics law of conservation of energy. hahaha!
anti-science? conservative fundamentalist "scientists" are the ones who are truly anti-science. Science is the pursuit of truth, truth lies in many realms, or dimensions, the "spirit world" is about to be proven... scientifically.
It is the close-minded fundamentalist atheists who will refuse to believe the scientific evidence of what humans have called the supernatural... only now, in this new era, science and spirit are becoming one.
@greyswans And i say its about time, since i was 15 i was waiting for the day when this would come, i am 21 now, and i see it getting closer and closer everyday. Science and spirituality are one coin. Heads or tails?
@greyswans - whoooaaaaaa so wait wait....you're telling me I'm SLEEPING RIGHT NOW?!?!?! HOLY SH*T!!!! That's some deep stuff right there man, whoaaaaa
this video is cynical, narrow minded and falsely accusational, based on biased 'beliefs' that are contradictory to what is actually true! The human soul, believe it or not, is an excellent determinant of the truth, in whatevery form it may arise, and can exact what vibrates effectively and harmoniously with the individual in case. I harmonise and vibrate with the exact and perfect truth that metaphysics is a science, a newly accepted science within the public arena, that actually is correct!
it is possible to consider every fruitcake out there trying to sell a book that claims quantum mechanics allows you to change the universe as a fruitcake trying to sell a book without dismissing what actual science proves to be true
it is possible to consider every fruitcake out there trying to sell a book that claims quantum mechanics allows you to change the universe as a fruitcake trying to sell a book without dismissing what actual science proves to be true
We have no free will at all and our slavery to our brain is part of quantum reality what makes us also unfree. We are nothing but soulless slaves to the universe around us and certainly not the other way around. Quantum consciousness is like ordinary consciousness : something we don't really have except me maybe, being conscious of this sad situation of us arrogant humans who are just as caught in the laws of dialectical materialism as everything else. Sorry deluded religious sisters + brothers
I play poker and there has been times where i had garbage hands such as queen 4 king 8 jack 6 off suit, and i swear if i think hard enough i can make thoose cards come down
What exactly was the purpose of this vid? Of course one shouldn't swallow anything in one bite. Truth and falsehood exists parallel in everything. It's about opening your eyes to many different thing and laying out the pieces of the puzzle with an ever increasing clarity of the whole picture.
Scientist who attack and rant are just like christ delusionists - fanatics.
What I mean is there is a tend. in science to bel. that a phen. exists only when proven. Moderate scientists of the day, that supr. the idea of the world actually being round and not flat.
UFO's- a perfect ex., scientist have already made up their minds (most of them), becuse they have jumped to concl. BEFORE they have studied it prop.
Scientists are gen. not AS fanatic as relig. people, but they do carry a certain am. of count-prod. att. towards getting at REAL truth.
@Thesortvokter ok, i guess we agree to an extent then. scientists are humans, not perfectly logical robots, so they ARE sometimes prone to fallacy, they DO sometimes cling onto older ideas when the best evidence says it's time to move on, they ARE sometimes overly optimistic about things that have been shown not to work. they aren't perfect. but it is still nowhere near the same as the "fanatics" you described earlier... and the scientific method is not counterproductive to obtaining the truth.
@dylz Science is STALLING the truth, with it's dogmatic view on reality. Telepathy is a good example. It is ridiculed by popular media and science in unison, yet studies prove the reality of it.
YouTube:
big bang never happened
It's a wonderful presentation that touches on science, cosmology and dogma.
@Thesortvokter this is where i'm going to have to disagree with you. science at its core is not dogmatic -- and even rarely in practice. you'll find most scientists are amenable to revising their views on the world as long as sufficient evidence has arisen, and i'm sorry to say that the evidence on telepathy is far from definitive. contrary to your statement, the media actually loves it when one study seems to support telepathy's existence, and will happily report on it.
@Thesortvokter yes, you've made this point several times. i'm telling you that in practice, no, scientists are not dogmatic. theories have been revised and replaced all the time in science. kicking and screaming tends to come from people who adhere to religious and spiritual dogma, which is by definition unscientific. the framework of knowledge you call "established dogma" would be more accurately called "established theories," those that best explain evidence, as i've repeated ad nauseam.
@dylz Blah, blah, blah, I'm beginning to suspect that you are really a scientist or something?..
There's no way of resolving this, as we clearly have TWO DIFFERENT VIEWS on reality.
Do you know the definition of dogma?
Dogma is the established belief or doctrine held by a religion, or by extension by some other group or organization. It is authoritative and not to be disputed, doubted, or diverged from, by the practitioner or believers.
@dylz BELOW I SHOW THAT DOGMA HAS GUIDED EST. SCIENCE IN IT'S REFUTING OF QUASAR-EVEIDENCE:
".. est. sci. has DELIBERATELY REFUSED to view the evidence ..and at least one scientific journal DELIBERATELY PRESENTED a copy of a picture of WORSE QUALITY than they had acc. to."
Dogma is the estab. belief or doctrine..or by extension by some other group or org. It is author. and not to be disputed, doubted, or diverged from, by the practi. or believers.
said:" "established dogma" would be more accurately called "established theories," those that best explain evidence"
When one tampers with evidence like one has as shown in "the big bang never happened" - that can hardly be called "those that best explain evidence" - but it can be called CHEATING, by the proponents of truth.
"kicking and screaming tends to come from people who adhere to religious and spiritual dogma, which is by definition unscientific."
I only made that crude comparison in the first entry, and moderated it accordingly.
What I'm saying is that science ALSO have a certain degree of dogmatic attitude, for reasons too many too detail here.
UFOs, TELEPATHY, PRE-COGNOTION, GHOSTS are examples where science has bee RELUCTANT to EVEN LOOK INTO IT, on the basis that these CANNOT EXIST, so the DON'T.
@Thesortvokter (cont'd) it seems to me that your lack of regard for the nuances as to WHY a theory is the most commonly held, instead throwing base accusations of dogma, evinces a lack of scientific thinking on your part and a desire to define the truth however you see fit. you're like my brother: he seems to think that the more widely a belief is held, the less likely it is to be true. needless to say this is extremely fallacious. i've seen all your arguments before; they are not the reality.
@dylz Big Bang Believers are wrong, quasars are ejected from the center of galaxies, that's what the evidence suggest, and that also EXPLAINS their existance.
There never was a big bang, that's anciant DOGMA, still held on to for dear life.
Anyway, I'm going away, so no need to rebuttle, and also, I'm trired of discussing with a fanatical believer in the established science' innocence at being dogmatic.
@Thesortvokter "fanatical"? "believer"? ok, if that's what you want to call it. sorry to have upset you, mr. physics expert. i'm glad you're so up to date on all the scientific literature. anyway, you're right, it's probably best we move on, since we have both just been repeating the same stuff over and over. shame you had to end the conversation with base insults though!
@dylz Perhaps it had something to do with your unwillingness to admit that I ACTUALLY pointed to a case where science has applied a dogmatic attitude and even attempted forgery by a scientific journal to uphold the THEORY of the Big Bang.
And I was just characterizing you, not insulting you, sorry if you took it that way.
@Thesortvokter "just characterizing" me, huh? that's more insulting. thanks! i might have a few "characterizations" to apply to you, but since i'm polite i'll refrain.
i'm not arguing about the veracity of cosmological theories here. my area of knowledge is biochemistry, not physics or cosmology, and i recognize my limitations when it comes to evaluating these theories for myself. i'm arguing that there is no better alternative to the scientific method when it comes to finding out the truth.
@Thesortvokter (cont'd) you argue, saying it's not true in practice because scientists are "fanatical" zealots. i argue that no, while refuting widely held theories does take time because we are humans, science even today is fully capable of moving on when the evidence says it's time. since you seem to feel science is not the best way to learn about what is true in the world, then let me ask you: what is? vague spiritual beliefs, drug trips, religion? is that it?
@dylz I'm talking about the scientic collegium that latch on to old ideas, to defend their own positions as the "guardians of truth", if you don't believe they exist, AND controll the scientific community, well, that's your problem. And everybody elses as well, since the belief in is regarded as absolute truth. Truth is, there are tons of scientists still, that don't welcome debate and new ideas.
@Thesortvokter and you know this how? are you even vaguely connected to the scientific community or anyone who practices science in any capacity? i'm guessing you aren't, since you continue to trot out the same paranoid arguments about dogma and arbiters of the "absolute" truth and so forth. let's be real here: you don't like science simply because you don't like all its findings. tough luck, man. i'm done with this tiresome argument. good luck on your paranoid quest for self-defined truth.
I already gavce you a referance to a movie that documents this, remeber, I'm getting tired of responding to true believers of the fanatical and blind sort you seem to belong to.
Again, no insult intended, this is only my description of how you appear to me.
@Thesortvokter your "no insult intended" disclaimer is unnecessary: i could just as well say to someone "you're fat and ugly. no insult intended, this is only my description of how you appear to me."
your "evidence of this," namely one film, looks to me an awful lot like NORMAL SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE. i even took the pain of trying to explain this to you, but you essentially did the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "na na na, i'm not listening" like a child.
@dylz You owned him. I hope in the long run you didn't waste too much of your time on him. His type can't be reasoned with. It especially makes my blood boil when they ignore you and keep telling you that you're "blind" or "ignorant" You should tell me how the rest of the convo with him went, I'd love to hear :P
@Thesortvokter (cont'd) meanwhile, subsequent replications that find the preliminary study to be false are rarely reported. i'd be interested in hearing what the "studies" that "prove the reality of it" come from, especially since you seem not to trust the scientists on the issue.
i don't understand the origin of your anti-science attitude. revolutionary and unorthodox ideas are surely very beneficial, but science is the best (and ONLY) way we have to objectively determine if these hold water.
@Thesortvokter yes, i did. i'm not sure what it has to with "dogma": to me, it seems like a perfectly normal part of scientific discourse. alternate theories get proposed all the time -- one day, one will be proposed that manages to explain ALL the experimental evidence that the big bang theory predicts, and more that the big bang fails to predict. people don't hold onto the big bang theory because they're dogmatic or because it sounds nice -- they just find that it best explains the evidence.
@dylz The dogma is that established science tried and tries to bury the theory AND the observations that indicate that there never was ONE BIG BANG, but rather that there may be millions of little big bangs going of all the time, by way of quasars being ejected from the center of galaxies.
The movie clearly shows how est. science try to suppress new theories and observations.
@Thesortvokter what you call "suppressing new theories" is NORMAL SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE. scientists argue about theories all the time, again, not because they are dogmatic or because they have some personal stake in one being correct, but because they want to use the one that best explains the evidence. if people just accepted new theories without doing so, we'd be a lot worse off because the theories we use would be less rigorous. you act as though the arguments in the film are all correct...
@dylz said: "you act as though the arguments in the film are all correct..."
No, actually I pointed out that the established science has DELIBERATELY REFUSED to view the evidence presented in a objective light and at least one scientific journal DELIBERATELY PRESENTED a copy of a picture of WORSE QUALITY than they had access to.
I'm getting tired of this discussion, as you seem stuck in the same fancies as I describe as having been critical to the slow-moving evolution of science.
GREAT JOB!!!! YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE IN YOUR BOX. I KNOW ITS SCARY TO ADMIT THAT YOUR TINY LITTLE BRAIN DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE UNIVERSE AROUND YOU:-)
nice video but maybe try learning your script rather than reading it. Monotone is so hard going on the ears. I wanted to turn it off but i also really wanted to hear what you had to say. Just a thought. Nice stuff though.
There are plenty of mystics who don't try to impede on scientific knowledge. A mystic is just someone who practices introspection, and contemplation/meditation. Not all Mystics are "Quantum mind theorists".
Can someone send me the link to watch the rest of the debate shown in this youtube video of the scientists arguing against the quantum "mystic" ideology?
The guy at 1:00 is Lawrence Kraus, and he exploits quantum theory unfairly to his nihilistic world view as well. So hard to find the truth now a days.
Don't you think it's ironic to declare your truth superior to others', asserting they have an ego problem? And what is it that you want people to do as a result of watching this video, other than just not believe those you don't believe. Do you have an alternative understanding to offer, or are you yet another one with lots of criticisms but nothing to contribute in terms of bettering your/our lives through greater understanding? You're angry, but where is the better path?
The idea that we each are solely responsible for everything that happens to us has never rested in my mind as a possibility. However to claim that all of what has been discovered is bunk is just as far fetched.
NOte at 0:05 the ball bearings being fired are claimed to be electrons. This cartoon from ramtha fans, is an excellent example of the way these sophists work. They swap electrons for ball bearings when in fact electrons are not part of a nuclear atom as is claimed in quackademia. Electrons are expanding waves form of emmisions, not ball bearings. This is the way they swap particles for waves in their shell game. The Nuke atom theory is a fraud see DB Larson's The Case against the Nuclear Atom!
LMFAO! What nwo new age shyster nonsense. JZ Kinght sell out whore for money and materialistic fame lying through her teeth about Lemurian warriors and new age deception to the core. Quantum qucakery is a putrid fraud which only shit for brains idiots believe in.
They do not take an anti-scientific attitude... hardly... they actual are pioneering scientific imploration by exploring the untouchable taboos that the mainstream scientific community is somehow too afraid to venture into! How do we ever expect to get any real progress out of the field of science unless those that yield the knowledge are not willing to push the boundaries! Besides, Quantum science makes just as much sense today as the theory of relativity did to Einstein all those years ago!
@paramedicdap I have in 1200 pages on my website, but you refuse to go the distance required and even investigate it. Telling me to shut up and I am a fool displays your lack of integrity and intelligence. If you had bothered to go to my website first you would not have made a fucking fool of yourself. Now fuck off unitl you do the fundamental research and then get back to me when you have pulled your head out of deep within your own ass idiot! Fucking cry baby grow up. It looks real ugly on ya
@paramedicdap I would agree with your statement on they are taking on a pioreering scientific exploration. every great mind has the masses literly lol and discourage the idea's of things that other fields of science in the main stream think to be false or lunatic. I do agree with Stuart Hamaroff. and I am extremely interested by quantum physics. from what I understand, many of the people he was talking to where at the part the cute red head was talking faster then a speeding bullet seemed to be
@goldengolem -- feeling under attack from a new thought or way of thinking. kinda like an old mac that is completely outdated and cant be upgraded enough to be compatible with a new mac computer. I refused to be so closed minded where we cling on to old ways that keep us in a mind trap dark age.
perhaps those folks just simply cant fathom any of this. perhaps the people trolling on this video cannot understand concepts with out thinking its new age stuff. I do say use a great deal of judgement.
The entire physics community??? WTH!!! Your basing your argument on one dude question, who not even you know who he is. Are you serious? Man I found you to be entirely misleading.
This reminds me of the MMGW cult. Pure scientific evidence is pushed into a theory without regard to magnitude along with a selfish motive and then broadcast to the ignorant masses. I fear Quantum research will be corrupted by the Quantum cults.
Tell you what my young British friend. I won't drink the koolaid of quantum mysticism, if you promise not to drink the koolaid of classical materialism, which is already in it's tomb, waiting to be buried in the sands of time.
Do you mean the classical materialism (I assume you're referring to most of physics here) that brought us all the technology we currently have? If the science is wrong, why does is it so successful?
@ScissorHand26 Science has always hit roadblocks once a paradigm shift occurs. And then, you have to discard the old formula and the old ways of looking at things and get with the new formula. If you don't, you will be left behind. The foremost scholars and scientists of their day laughed out loud from the back of the auditorium at the "ventriloquism act" put on by Alexander Graham Bell while he was attempting to demonstrate how sound could pass (be transmitted) through a thin copper wire.
@ScissorHand26 Science is "wrong" when the people who use the scientific method are imperfect and conduct the experiments in such a way as to boost their prestige and grow their bank accounts. Take the tobacco company that hires a science lab to conduct experiments to "prove" second-hand smoke is harmless. Do you really think the results of those experiments will reflect the truth in any way? What... you think that science is a noble industry unscathed by drug dealers, oil barons and profiteers?
Of course there will be a misuse of science, it's only a concept, and can be applied correctly or incorrectly. I don't trust the academia as a whole. For instance, a large amount of doctors are still woefully ignorant regarding marijuana. However, as a tool science is the best thing we've got. When the tobacco company hires scientists to prove tobacco isn't harmful, we can examine and criticize what they release. Other studies with less bias demonstrate opposite results.
Quantum entanglement is not just a theory. The effect has been tested in the lab & the results show that it indeed exists. See the twin-photon experiment by Dr. Nicolas Gisin of the University of Geneva & his colleagues. He used fiber optics and split a wave of ultra violet light(twin photons) in opposite directions. When one electron was measured the other one appeared at the opposite end instantaneously. Then came the measurement problem, between the speed of light, c, & time.
@GateMessenger True. Lord Immolation suffers from selective inattention. He has amassed ALL this viewing time focused on quantum theory and failed to notice that quantum entanglement is, in fact, a reality. Thirty years from now, the views of this young man will undergo a drastic revision. The paradigm shift is occurring and no one will remain unaffected. I'm not saying he will become a mystic, "channeling aliens," but he certainly will have to revise many of his views concerning the universe.
@GateMessenger Anyone who uses the phrase "(not) just a theory" doesn't understand science. Science produces (and refutes) theories. Theory is the high point of science. Saying something in science is "just a theory" or "not just a theory" would be like saying in bowling "just a 300 game".

Ahabite 1 month ago
I have seen "magic" in my life. Human beings are immensely powerful creators. Religion took our power by vilification. They told us we were evil if we used our creative abilities. But religion never denied the ability. They knew it was real but discouraged its use. The big brains which represent mainstream science insist these powers don't exist. So religion discourages and science denies. The people are Poland, Religion is Germany and Science is Russia, we are attacked from both sides.
awfullyawful 1 month ago

Some would like to jump in here and tell me to shut up, since it is imagination which seemingly guides us into a unforeseen future and with it, we'd be mired in stagnation, but actually a parallel process of science, the twin 'induction/falsification' processes, are the sure method of moving slowly but surely ahead.
doceigen 2 months ago
Imagination is limited and travels at less than the speed of light. You may think you can imagine traveling to far off galaxies at FTL, but in actuality, you never get there, EVER! So if anything 'hyper' can be accorded to 'imagination', it's that using it scrambles the natural precessional degradation of our cell coat discharging, and allow residual memories to remain in LaLa Land longer than they should. Some argue for the resulting euphoria, but the benefits are dubious to disastrous.

Believing is seeing.
sc0tchlvr 3 months ago
Well, I have not been drinking any Nikolai, just been having my own life experience that tells me this IS true. Thoughts and beliefs create your reality. I have learned that the more I focus on preventing "problems" the more they would happen. Conversely, when I let go of that focus, my reality would have less of them. Science can NOT touch upon the fact that the most of what we are at our core is NON physical. That is because all it can look at is the end result, not the cause of it.

Neat vid!
I am an artist trying to promote my theory on the dynamics of light and time.
This theory is based on two postulates
1. Is that the quantum wave particle function represents the forward passage of time itself
2. Is that Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle that is formed by the w- function is the same uncertainty we have with any future event.
This process of continuous change we see and feel as the flow of time itself and can interact with turning the possible into the actual!

It's crazy!
Jonnyshaft3 4 months ago 3
@Jonnyshaft3 So am I right in assuming you don't believe that 2 + 2 = 4 is a fact, or that A = A is a fact? Well how about the fact the earth is spherical or that we share a common ancestor with primates? The designer of the computer you are using has used certain knowledge of electrical circuits to produce a working machine....but I guess he doesn't know any 'facts' either?? If there is no truth then what your saying is of no more value than what I am saying from your perspective.
LordImmolation 4 months ago 4
@LordImmolation 2:52 lol
i see truth in both. science has don so much for us and produces many results. its the closest thing to truth we know, as religion formerly was. there might be a discovery that flips it on its ass tomorrow who knows but as it stands its the best we got. for me its a matter of researching material. few source material and i usually leave it. theoretical physicist says it all in the title theoretical! though interesting its all theory backed by #'s we created.
daSavage308 3 months ago
@LordImmolation last word there. Perspective, certain point of view. You might want to think about that a little more.
anymaru 2 months ago
Basically, yes. As Albert Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." We build from knowledge, but it is often beneficial to expand into other possibilities, when our minds will permit it, with the acceptance that we may not hold to these old or new beliefs as long as we had anticipated. The flat world of one day became the round world the next because minds were willing to let go old beliefs. As you know, we can't let go of some altogether, but to be willing can help.
Jonnyshaft3 2 months ago
@LordImmolation The Earth isn't spherical. And EVERYTHING has a common ancestor. The so called facts you are citing are distracting. The truth is so much deeper than surface observations. You are attempting to describe what lives in the sea by only looking at a glass of water. Those circuits you are talking about where did the idea come from! You want to discredit the unseen creative lifeforce that permeates everything by pointing out things it has given us?
awfullyawful 1 month ago
@awfullyawful This guy knows whats up. It takes looking inward and realizing you are creating at EVERY moment, and that you are acting within OTHER'S creation, and some can overpowers other's creations. It's like saying you don't exist to deny this. We are ALL creators, but there are those who would like to make us forget this fact. Pick up your hand and snap your fingers. You just created intense vibrations. That's small, you can do a LOT more.
GeoffTheGiraff 1 month ago
@awfullyawful Not to be rude, but I don't think you know what words mean. How is quantum physics only concerned with "surface observations"? You are just saying words that you read from books which gave you your ideas, but have never had them subjected to a little thing called reality. You have no idea how ironic it is that you said the sea from a glass of water comment; as that is precisely what you are doing not lordimmolation.
Ahabite 1 month ago
@Ahabite Let me clarify. The creator of the video is using surface observations for the purposes of extrapolation. With the limited information available, a certain level of speculation is to be expected. My issue with this presentation is this. The dude is attempting to disqualify one side's speculation with his own speculation. I don't know the answers, you don't know the answers, and neither does the guy who made this video.

(continued)...To focus on those who denounce material and science misses a big wide world of "laymen" out there who appreciate QP for its explanation/inclusion of all matter; which is essentially energy vibrating at different speeds. This has led to the spiritual interpretation that there is no separation of anything – everything/all is connected.
onex8082 4 months ago
This analysis is fairly narrow perspective. QP is not just about random actions of the smallest particles; it's also about the undeniable "space" (perhaps conscious energy/God?) between the particles and how this space "seems" to spontaneously create particles (hence matter). To focus on those who denounce material and science misses a big wide world of "laymen" out there who appreciate QP for its explanation/inclusion of all matter; which is essentially energy vibrating at different speeds.
onex8082 4 months ago

It is the close-minded fundamentalist atheists who will refuse to believe the scientific evidence of what humans have called the supernatural... only now, in this new era, science and spirit are becoming one.

this video is cynical, narrow minded and falsely accusational, based on biased 'beliefs' that are contradictory to what is actually true!

Scientist who attack and rant are just like christ delusionists - fanatics.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter well, no, because scientists at the very least try to check to make sure their rantings have something resembling a basis in reality.
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz I agree.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter ok, i guess we agree to an extent then. scientists are humans, not perfectly logical robots, so they ARE sometimes prone to fallacy, they DO sometimes cling onto older ideas when the best evidence says it's time to move on, they ARE sometimes overly optimistic about things that have been shown not to work. they aren't perfect. but it is still nowhere near the same as the "fanatics" you described earlier... and the scientific method is not counterproductive to obtaining the truth.
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz Science is STALLING the truth, with it's dogmatic view on reality. Telepathy is a good example. It is ridiculed by popular media and science in unison, yet studies prove the reality of it.
YouTube:
big bang never happened
It's a wonderful presentation that touches on science, cosmology and dogma.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter this is where i'm going to have to disagree with you. science at its core is not dogmatic -- and even rarely in practice. you'll find most scientists are amenable to revising their views on the world as long as sufficient evidence has arisen, and i'm sorry to say that the evidence on telepathy is far from definitive. contrary to your statement, the media actually loves it when one study seems to support telepathy's existence, and will happily report on it.
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz said: "science at its core is not dogmatic"
You speak of the scientific IDEA.
I'm talking about scientific PRACTICE at this stage of human intellectual evolution.
In PRACTICE science has ESTABLISHED dogmas, contraire to it's IDEAL, which is, as you most assuredly will agree, to function UNACCORDING TO DOGMA.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter yes, you've made this point several times. i'm telling you that in practice, no, scientists are not dogmatic. theories have been revised and replaced all the time in science. kicking and screaming tends to come from people who adhere to religious and spiritual dogma, which is by definition unscientific. the framework of knowledge you call "established dogma" would be more accurately called "established theories," those that best explain evidence, as i've repeated ad nauseam.
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz Blah, blah, blah, I'm beginning to suspect that you are really a scientist or something?..
There's no way of resolving this, as we clearly have TWO DIFFERENT VIEWS on reality.
Do you know the definition of dogma?
Dogma is the established belief or doctrine held by a religion, or by extension by some other group or organization. It is authoritative and not to be disputed, doubted, or diverged from, by the practitioner or believers.
EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE DESCRIBED IN BIG B NEVER H.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
said:" "established dogma" would be more accurately called "established theories," those that best explain evidence"
When one tampers with evidence like one has as shown in "the big bang never happened" - that can hardly be called "those that best explain evidence" - but it can be called CHEATING, by the proponents of truth.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
"kicking and screaming tends to come from people who adhere to religious and spiritual dogma, which is by definition unscientific."
I only made that crude comparison in the first entry, and moderated it accordingly.
What I'm saying is that science ALSO have a certain degree of dogmatic attitude, for reasons too many too detail here.
UFOs, TELEPATHY, PRE-COGNOTION, GHOSTS are examples where science has bee RELUCTANT to EVEN LOOK INTO IT, on the basis that these CANNOT EXIST, so the DON'T.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter (cont'd) it seems to me that your lack of regard for the nuances as to WHY a theory is the most commonly held, instead throwing base accusations of dogma, evinces a lack of scientific thinking on your part and a desire to define the truth however you see fit. you're like my brother: he seems to think that the more widely a belief is held, the less likely it is to be true. needless to say this is extremely fallacious. i've seen all your arguments before; they are not the reality.
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz Big Bang Believers are wrong, quasars are ejected from the center of galaxies, that's what the evidence suggest, and that also EXPLAINS their existance.
There never was a big bang, that's anciant DOGMA, still held on to for dear life.
Anyway, I'm going away, so no need to rebuttle, and also, I'm trired of discussing with a fanatical believer in the established science' innocence at being dogmatic.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter "fanatical"? "believer"? ok, if that's what you want to call it. sorry to have upset you, mr. physics expert. i'm glad you're so up to date on all the scientific literature. anyway, you're right, it's probably best we move on, since we have both just been repeating the same stuff over and over. shame you had to end the conversation with base insults though!
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz Perhaps it had something to do with your unwillingness to admit that I ACTUALLY pointed to a case where science has applied a dogmatic attitude and even attempted forgery by a scientific journal to uphold the THEORY of the Big Bang.
And I was just characterizing you, not insulting you, sorry if you took it that way.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter "just characterizing" me, huh? that's more insulting. thanks! i might have a few "characterizations" to apply to you, but since i'm polite i'll refrain.
i'm not arguing about the veracity of cosmological theories here. my area of knowledge is biochemistry, not physics or cosmology, and i recognize my limitations when it comes to evaluating these theories for myself. i'm arguing that there is no better alternative to the scientific method when it comes to finding out the truth.
dylz 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter (cont'd) you argue, saying it's not true in practice because scientists are "fanatical" zealots. i argue that no, while refuting widely held theories does take time because we are humans, science even today is fully capable of moving on when the evidence says it's time. since you seem to feel science is not the best way to learn about what is true in the world, then let me ask you: what is? vague spiritual beliefs, drug trips, religion? is that it?
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz I'm talking about the scientic collegium that latch on to old ideas, to defend their own positions as the "guardians of truth", if you don't believe they exist, AND controll the scientific community, well, that's your problem. And everybody elses as well, since the belief in is regarded as absolute truth. Truth is, there are tons of scientists still, that don't welcome debate and new ideas.
Thesortvokter 6 months ago
@Thesortvokter and you know this how? are you even vaguely connected to the scientific community or anyone who practices science in any capacity? i'm guessing you aren't, since you continue to trot out the same paranoid arguments about dogma and arbiters of the "absolute" truth and so forth. let's be real here: you don't like science simply because you don't like all its findings. tough luck, man. i'm done with this tiresome argument. good luck on your paranoid quest for self-defined truth.
dylz 6 months ago
@dylz Yeah, yeah.....
I already gavce you a referance to a movie that documents this, remeber, I'm getting tired of responding to true believers of the fanatical and blind sort you seem to belong to.
Again, no insult intended, this is only my description of how you appear to me.
Thesortvokter 6 months ago
@Thesortvokter your "no insult intended" disclaimer is unnecessary: i could just as well say to someone "you're fat and ugly. no insult intended, this is only my description of how you appear to me."
your "evidence of this," namely one film, looks to me an awful lot like NORMAL SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE. i even took the pain of trying to explain this to you, but you essentially did the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "na na na, i'm not listening" like a child.
dylz 6 months ago
@dylz Let me ask you:
What is your knowledge of UFOs, and how do you think the subject has been treated by the general scientific community?
Thesortvokter 6 months ago
@Thesortvokter just want to let you know that i've started replying in private messages!
dylz 6 months ago
@dylz You owned him. I hope in the long run you didn't waste too much of your time on him. His type can't be reasoned with. It especially makes my blood boil when they ignore you and keep telling you that you're "blind" or "ignorant" You should tell me how the rest of the convo with him went, I'd love to hear :P
Halflifefan54 5 months ago
@Thesortvokter (cont'd) meanwhile, subsequent replications that find the preliminary study to be false are rarely reported. i'd be interested in hearing what the "studies" that "prove the reality of it" come from, especially since you seem not to trust the scientists on the issue.
i don't understand the origin of your anti-science attitude. revolutionary and unorthodox ideas are surely very beneficial, but science is the best (and ONLY) way we have to objectively determine if these hold water.
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz I've experienced telepathy and many other things not accepted by mainstrem science.
Did you check out the big bang never happened by the way?
Regardless of our difference of opinion, I'm sure you'll find it interesting.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter yes, i did. i'm not sure what it has to with "dogma": to me, it seems like a perfectly normal part of scientific discourse. alternate theories get proposed all the time -- one day, one will be proposed that manages to explain ALL the experimental evidence that the big bang theory predicts, and more that the big bang fails to predict. people don't hold onto the big bang theory because they're dogmatic or because it sounds nice -- they just find that it best explains the evidence.
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz The dogma is that established science tried and tries to bury the theory AND the observations that indicate that there never was ONE BIG BANG, but rather that there may be millions of little big bangs going of all the time, by way of quasars being ejected from the center of galaxies.
The movie clearly shows how est. science try to suppress new theories and observations.
Thesortvokter 7 months ago
@Thesortvokter what you call "suppressing new theories" is NORMAL SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE. scientists argue about theories all the time, again, not because they are dogmatic or because they have some personal stake in one being correct, but because they want to use the one that best explains the evidence. if people just accepted new theories without doing so, we'd be a lot worse off because the theories we use would be less rigorous. you act as though the arguments in the film are all correct...
dylz 7 months ago
@dylz said: "you act as though the arguments in the film are all correct..."
No, actually I pointed out that the established science has DELIBERATELY REFUSED to view the evidence presented in a objective light and at least one scientific journal DELIBERATELY PRESENTED a copy of a picture of WORSE QUALITY than they had access to.
I'm getting tired of this discussion, as you seem stuck in the same fancies as I describe as having been critical to the slow-moving evolution of science.

Tell you what my young British friend. I won't drink the koolaid of quantum mysticism, if you promise not to drink the koolaid of classical materialism, which is already in it's tomb, waiting to be buried in the sands of time.
RevJohn 1 year ago
@RevJohn
Do you mean the classical materialism (I assume you're referring to most of physics here) that brought us all the technology we currently have? If the science is wrong, why does is it so successful?
ScissorHand26 1 year ago
@ScissorHand26 Science has always hit roadblocks once a paradigm shift occurs. And then, you have to discard the old formula and the old ways of looking at things and get with the new formula. If you don't, you will be left behind. The foremost scholars and scientists of their day laughed out loud from the back of the auditorium at the "ventriloquism act" put on by Alexander Graham Bell while he was attempting to demonstrate how sound could pass (be transmitted) through a thin copper wire.
RevJohn 1 year ago
@ScissorHand26 Science is "wrong" when the people who use the scientific method are imperfect and conduct the experiments in such a way as to boost their prestige and grow their bank accounts. Take the tobacco company that hires a science lab to conduct experiments to "prove" second-hand smoke is harmless. Do you really think the results of those experiments will reflect the truth in any way? What... you think that science is a noble industry unscathed by drug dealers, oil barons and profiteers?
RevJohn 1 year ago
@RevJohn
ScissorHand26 11 months ago
Quantum entanglement is not just a theory. The effect has been tested in the lab & the results show that it indeed exists. See the twin-photon experiment by Dr. Nicolas Gisin of the University of Geneva & his colleagues. He used fiber optics and split a wave of ultra violet light(twin photons) in opposite directions. When one electron was measured the other one appeared at the opposite end instantaneously. Then came the measurement problem, between the speed of light, c, & time.
GateMessenger 1 year ago 16
@GateMessenger True. Lord Immolation suffers from selective inattention. He has amassed ALL this viewing time focused on quantum theory and failed to notice that quantum entanglement is, in fact, a reality. Thirty years from now, the views of this young man will undergo a drastic revision. The paradigm shift is occurring and no one will remain unaffected. I'm not saying he will become a mystic, "channeling aliens," but he certainly will have to revise many of his views concerning the universe.
RevJohn 1 year ago
@GateMessenger Anyone who uses the phrase "(not) just a theory" doesn't understand science. Science produces (and refutes) theories. Theory is the high point of science. Saying something in science is "just a theory" or "not just a theory" would be like saying in bowling "just a 300 game".
