Multi-terawatt weapons are a minor inconvenience to Samus. In the Haloverse, weapons with that kind of firepower are only found on STARSHIPS. Literally nothing in the Master Chief's arsenal will hurt Samus. Heck, she's bulletproof even without her armour.
i think they over powerd samus aran to much and turned into something like chuck norris or bruce lee and the othere case master chief is more realistic.
in all honesty as much of a bad ass master chief is i think he would lose against samus the only reason being is because samus has greater agility, superior firepower, and has been tested over and over again on multiple combat missons going completely alone

@Therisont well actually the hyper beam doesn't have to be phazon based because in other m samus states that she was some how given the hyper beam by the baby metroid in the begining. so hyper beam doesn't need to be phazon powered and yeah your right she'll destroy it again unless the in the metroid timeline after fusion they release a metroid game that shows the unexpected return of phazon and the return of Dark Samus or Sylux or both.
Going by Other M, the Hyper beam damager her arm cannon when she uses it (as seen breifly in the cinematic of when she mentions the hyper beam, her right arm and canon are scorched), and hasn't been seen to be able to use it since the event of Super metroid. betcha she would have liked to use it in Fusion against the SA-X
the Hyper beam didn't need phazon because she was fed the extra power from mother brain by the Baby.

masterchief actually has a fair chance. If he can use equipment, his chances might even triple, since the power drain can drain samus's shield down and MC can use a sniper rifle to finish her off with a head shot.... so he still has a pretty fair chace

Let me explain samus. She has a ship, so tht a point. She has her suit and everything tht comes with it, so she'd kick master cheif's ass. Without her suit, it doesn't matter. She was raised by chozo, not human, for three years longer than master cheif. no offense to Halo fans, But metroid would win. she has hand to hand combat and she is still strong without her suit, And she could easily take on master cheif with or without her suit and ship.
What ever Samus shoots at chief all he has to do is throw a bubble shield down and hes safe unless she wants to go in the shield with chief and a energy sword
@N0X3US He's not safe. She has a ship with missiles tht could OBLITERATE HIM, and if tht didn't work, she has a beam tht can pass through walls and probably sheilds. But-but-if his sheild did work, she has tough armor, extensive hand to hand combat, and a small but POWERFUL gun tht fits right in with hand to hand combat and something she can shoot in small spaces. She also has her Energy whip tht she can use to pull cheif out and KEEP him out, and after tht she can take him down with speed.
A Spartan Laser can blow a decent sized hole in her body, plus the Chief can regenerate his shields. Metroid Fans are saying that a fully upgraded Samus can defeat Master Chief. To make things fair, Master Chief will have 12x over-shields along with the fact they can regenerate makes him formidable. Give him a battle rifle and a Spartan Laser and Samus can die.
Mother brain's Hyper beam plowed a hole through a metroid's energy like skin (that missiles and plasma can't harm) and it still takes like 3-4 hyper beams to bring Samus to her knees? (and judging by the Other M opening trailer, it's got a LOT more destructive force considering the destruction it 'causes in the background)
your problem is your assuming Halo Tech = Metroid tech
when the technology in Metroid is all round more advanced.
for example, the weak Plasma pistol when charged generates a 0.45 megawatt blast. and it's capable of knocking out his shields.
In metroid, a weak weapon called the Volt driver generates a multi-terawatt burst per shot.
Megawatt: 1,000,000
Terawatt: 1,000,000,000,000
and second of all, x12 overshields isn't cannon, he isn't capable of doing that outside multiplayer. meanwhile a fully upgraded Samus is canon, because she actually can have that.
ive played metroid, she loses health by stepping on bugs, when she hit a wall she lost her rockets, her morph ball, her charge beam etc..Master shief would crush her in closequarters.. all of samus's shots move slowly through the atmosphere so theyd suck at long to mid range. Her rockets have a low blast radius, and her super missles are BA but she doesnt have many An master shief could dodge them easily with his reaction time and 55mph sprint speed
she steps on a bug and loses a few points, gets stepped on by scarab tank sized enemies and loses a few ten points (each tank is 100 points)
she recieved the brunt of an explosion that caused her armor to malfuction, meanwhile being hit by weapons that generate terawatts of energy barely nick her shields, and said large enemies in weight alone generate over a hundred tons pf presure.
He'll barely hurt her in close quarters, he won't want to be there if she's using screw attack or power bombs

plasma pistol overcharge shot: a tactic you can't do in Halo games, but would work is just shooting out the orb, it's slow her Ice beam would neutralize it easy.
Energy Sword: Samus' Screw attack could easily deflect it.
And I'm pretty sure she can use her plasma torch to fend of a plasma blade.
Invisibility: thermal and X-ray, he could be invisible being a 2 meter thick wall, she'd STILL see him.

if you actually read into the story of metroid, the Chozo left most of those behind for Samus to use. and the others she passed a test thought allowed her to use them.

His shields may have recharge ability but a missile hit usually does him in (even with a fully charged shield).
Samus's shields may not have recharge capabilities but her shields are a hell alot stronger than his as a missile hit only deals 17 damage hp to her shields in the Metroid games (in which she starts out with 99 energy and usually at the end of the Metroid Games 1499 energy).
Samus can fire endlessly, no reloads or over heats, and some beams ignore any and all cover.
some of her beams actually fire quite fast, especially when charged. plus with the speed booster she can bring the battle close in, which would be the worst place for him.
Samus is actually smarter than master chief.
and based on some "clever" things they allow you to do in some boss fights? this seems like a fight where all chief has are his wits, and even then.
master chief is swift enough to be able to reload.if he cant,he can use anything as a weapon.

another issue is that even if they weren't using weapons (hard for Samus, seeing as her weapons are bound to her armor, and her armor is bound to her even while she's not wearing it)

and when you figure in a unarmed, unarmored fight you have to take into consideration that Samus is faster, and jumps higher than a spartan, implying stronger legs than him.

Umm Her beam weapons don't need to charge unless she is using the charge shot in which case it takes less time for it to charge the the SL. All the Brute strength in the word won't help if you can't catch your opponent
yeah, but one grenade or relatively strong attack and he can kiss his shields good bye. Samus on the other hand takes an attack of similar yield with stride, causing her little more than to just flinch and only lose a chunk of energy from one tank, out of 21 energy tanks.

Crystal flash: at the cost of ammo for missiles and bomb, restore to full
Metroid Prime steals the Phazon suit. Power, Gravity and Varia are all the same suit (Last two being upgrades of the the power suit). Brawl is non-canon and doesn't count. But the Zero-suit(From Primes Echoes, Corruption nad Metroid Zero mission) wouldn't help much because if he is does manage to go through the armor he really going through her shields and well she's SOL
1.spartans can lift about 2tons or less so a punch from mc would be able to go through her armor . 2. samus has alot of fire power and shes pretty strong in a fight and shes fast she has all the gadgets . 3. masterchief is pretty strong his armor is VERY VERY VERY dense so most of the attacks samus would be hitting him with would not get through the armor it can but it would take multiple beyond multiples of attacks , i say mc but wats stoping them from just going out on date .lol
except that Samus has fought enemies stronger than him, and survived direct melee hits. she survived (without a dent) a 110 ton creature stomping on her in her weakest armor.
Actually, even the Mjolnir mk VI isn't all that resilient to plasma even with shielding, what's worse his armor isn't as durable as hers, not by a long shot and her plasma weapons are superior to any man-portable weapon the covenant use.

pretty much everything the "good guys" have the bad guys do too, 'cause they copy and steal.
the pirates even have faster travel, personnel teleportation technology, better cloaking technology, better melee energy weaponry (seemingly).
hell, they've got a special field generating device that could render Covenant infantry energy projectile weapons useless.
it's not that you can't, it's that it's clear who has the upper hand.

irrelevant, Samus can't use hypermode anymore due to losing the inner phazon her PED suit took advantage of. without it she can't enter hyper mode.
and if they make anothe game with phazon in it again, she'd likely destroy it again too.

@Therisont well actually the hyper beam doesn't have to be phazon based because in other m samus states that she was some how given the hyper beam by the baby metroid in the begining. so hyper beam doesn't need to be phazon powered and yeah your right she'll destroy it again unless the in the metroid timeline after fusion they release a metroid game that shows the unexpected return of phazon and the return of Dark Samus or Sylux or both.

Going by Other M, the Hyper beam damager her arm cannon when she uses it (as seen breifly in the cinematic of when she mentions the hyper beam, her right arm and canon are scorched), and hasn't been seen to be able to use it since the event of Super metroid. betcha she would have liked to use it in Fusion against the SA-X
the Hyper beam didn't need phazon because she was fed the extra power from mother brain by the Baby.

Let me explain samus. She has a ship, so tht a point. She has her suit and everything tht comes with it, so she'd kick master cheif's ass. Without her suit, it doesn't matter. @N0X3US He's not safe. She has a ship with missiles tht could OBLITERATE HIM, and if tht didn't work, she has a beam tht can pass through walls and probably sheilds. But-but-if his sheild did work, she has tough armor, extensive hand to hand combat, and a small but POWERFUL gun tht fits right in with hand to hand combat and something she can shoot in small spaces. She also has her Energy whip tht she can use to pull cheif out and KEEP him out, and after tht she can take him down with speed.

and close quarters is something he'd want to avoid, with or without a energy sword/ Gravity hammer.
A: Samus' screw attack is vastly superior to the sword, the blade would just be forced away by the destructive energy.
B: the Hammer's gravity effect is useless, her gravity suit would just negate it's effect.
C: she puts down a power bomb in the bubble shield and he won't want to be in there anymore.

The gravity suit's ability isn't limited to reducing/negating the effects gravity against the suit.
as in all games it also effects water, some games lava, and in Other M Gravity as well as vacuums caused be decompression.
giving reason to believe it negates/normalizes forces against the armor.

A Spartan Laser can blow a decent sized hole in her body, plus the Chief can regenerate his shields. Metroid Fans are saying that a fully upgraded Samus can defeat Master Chief. To make things fair, Master Chief will have 12x over-shields along with the fact they can regenerate makes him formidable. Give him a battle rifle and a Spartan Laser and Samus can die.

Mother brain's Hyper beam plowed a hole through a metroid's energy like skin (that missiles and plasma can't harm) and it still takes like 3-4 hyper beams to bring Samus to her knees? (and judging by the Other M opening trailer, it's got a LOT more destructive force considering the destruction it 'causes in the background)

In metroid, a weak weapon called the Volt driver generates a multi-terawatt burst per shot.

ive played metroid, she loses health by stepping on bugs, when she hit a wall she lost her rockets, her morph ball, her charge beam etc..Master shief would crush her in closequarters.. all of samus's shots move slowly through the atmosphere so theyd suck at long to mid range. Her rockets have a low blast radius, and her super missles are BA but she doesnt have many An master shief could dodge them easily with his reaction time and 55mph sprint speed

she recieved the brunt of an explosion that caused her armor to malfuction, meanwhile being hit by weapons that generate terawatts of energy barely nick her shields, and said large enemies in weight alone generate over a hundred tons pf presure.
He'll barely hurt her in close quarters, he won't want to be there if she's using screw attack or power bombs

the rate of travel varies from weapon to weapon, game to game. in MPH the power beam travel around as fast or faster than Covenant Plasma rifle or pistol (along with various other weapons) as well as the nova beam from Corruption has an extremely quick travel time when fully charged, and Other M's wave beam also greatly increases the speed, I'd wager faster than.
but she also has the advantage of not needing to stop shooting, unlike him who has to constantly pace his shots from heat or reload.

I know nothing about a leader predatory, but based on normal predator, who's main tactic is stealth, Samus' radar and X-ray, as well as experience fighting cloaked enemies without visor specific spectrums.

If they had to go at it with no weapons and no armour master chief would destroy samus beacause he is genetically augmented to make his bones unbreakable and his muscels strong and his reaction time quicker he is the ultimate human without armour or weapons. Samus was also augmented. She was infused with Chozo DNA. When she was a kid she use to jump of mountains(That were tall enough to kill a person if you fell off) for fun and skip off merrily as if nothing had happened. plasma pistol overcharge shot: a tactic you can't do in Halo games, but would work is just shooting out the orb, it's slow her Ice beam would neutralize it easy.
Energy Sword: Samus' Screw attack could easily deflect it.
And I'm pretty sure she can use her plasma torch to fend of a plasma blade.
Invisibility: thermal and X-ray, he could be invisible being a 2 meter thick wall, she'd STILL see him.
all of which isn't even HIS technology, it's covenant that he has to steal to get.

while chief shield migt recharge, one strong hit and it's gone or he'd dead, Samus gets hit by thing like rockets and shrugs it off.
in the case of bubble shields or regenerator, it would only save him once from attacks or gear that Samus can nearly endlessly repeat. her screw attack would render most of his weapons useless.

His shields may have recharge ability but a missile hit usually does him in (even with a fully charged shield).
Samus's shields may not have recharge capabilities but her shields are a hell alot stronger than his as a missile hit only deals 17 damage hp to her shields in the Metroid games (in which she starts out with 99 energy and usually at the end of the Metroid Games 1499 energy).

Samus can fire endlessly, no reloads or over heats, and some beams ignore any and all cover.
some of her beams actually fire quite fast, especially when charged. plus with the speed booster she can bring the battle close in, which would be the worst place for him.
Samus is actually smarter than master chief.
and based on some "clever" things they allow you to do in some boss fights? this seems like a fight where all chief has are his wits, and even then.

Samus is also deadly accurate, but has the leisure of infinite beam ammo.
yeah, she has to charge to use the "charge" function, all beams don't need to be charged, he has some weapons like that as well, like the spartan laser (which needs to charge before firing) and plasma pistol.
And Samus is faster, more agile than master chief, with stronger legs

another issue is that even if they weren't using weapons (hard for Samus, seeing as her weapons are bound to her armor, and her armor is bound to her even while she's not wearing it)
Samus' armor itself can take more punishment than Mjolnir could any day.
and when you figure in a unarmed, unarmored fight you have to take into consideration that Samus is faster, and jumps higher than a spartan, implying stronger legs than him.
he actually wouldn't be all that much stronger than her w/out armor.

yeah, but one grenade or relatively strong attack and he can kiss his shields good bye. Samus on the other hand takes an attack of similar yield with stride, causing her little more than to just flinch and only lose a chunk of energy from one tank, out of 21 energy tanks.
and actually, Samus does have 2 in combat methods of recharging her shield.

Metroid Prime steals the Phazon suit. Power, Gravity and Varia are all the same suit (Last two being upgrades of the the power suit). Brawl is non-canon and doesn't count. But the Zero-suit(From Primes Echoes, Corruption nad Metroid Zero mission) wouldn't help much because if he is does manage to go through the armor he really going through her shields and well she's SOL

except that Samus has fought enemies stronger than him, and survived direct melee hits. she survived (without a dent) a 110 ton creature stomping on her in her weakest armor.
Actually, even the Mjolnir mk VI isn't all that resilient to plasma even with shielding, what's worse his armor isn't as durable as hers, not by a long shot and her plasma weapons are superior to any man-portable weapon the covenant use.

Their back stories are really similar. Both were separated from their parents at a young age and taken some where to train to fight aliens. Other M is suppose to expand on Samus' back story a little more. After it comes out you might not be able to say he has a better back stroy

I'd agree, but only because I'd say it's much better expanded on, Samus' only has key moments recorded of her backstory.
