You can go to Extensions>PlugIn Manager>Editor - TinyMCE and in Prohibited elements remove iFrame from the list and use the new code. I also changed the New Line to BR elements instead of a P tag. This is in Joomla 1.7
I should like to re-iterate that it is critical that you check the option, "Use old embed code"; otherwise it will not work.
Of course, this solution of turning off the blacklisting suffers from allowing the user to put potentially dangerous code into an article. But what can you do, eh?
@jameswcollett remember you should only turn off blacklisting for SuperUsers, in that way only webmaster or equivalent will be allowed to put code into an article, so no danger of malicious code in your site.
