I've just noticed that natural selection in a sense persists within society. For example, the best ideas prevail in society: the best sporting team in a league generally wins, the best singer generally wins a singing competition, the best idea generally emerges from a small group of people amongst the masses and more just social ideas of how to live life and view others generally emerged and overthrow old taboos, I wouldn't call it natural selection but its in the same spectrum as it.

Darwin's view of biology was revolutionary. But I think people were generally challenged by 'traditional' beliefs on how God supposedly acted through nature? God would be here, but not here? Technically, Darwin's theory is easy to understand and can even be seen today in human's adaptation to different climate and environment. Per instance, a higher level of melamine for those living in warmer, sunnier climate (darker skin) or the abilities to support oxygen rarification for those living in high altitude. Nature chooses. There's several different ways. an example would be geographic isolation where populations of the same species are separated because of environmental forces. The 2 populations then breed seperately and over time, they become more and more different genetically as they adapt to the new environment to the point where it's impossible for any member of one population to breed with another.
That is only one way though. There's more like behavioral isolation.
ok, if you don't believe in evolution, you don't have to say that it's wrong because it has not been proven yet, and so have not YOUR beliefs of how the world started and how certain animals became to be like what they are now, for example, 100 years ago, people were shorter, the doorway shows that, now we need higher doorways because of our height. so this is evidence, and i'm not saying that evolution is right, it just hasn't been proven yet, it is a theory, just like your beliefs.

I've just noticed that natural selection in a sense persists within society. For example, the best ideas prevail in society: the best sporting team in a league generally wins, the best singer generally wins a singing competition, the best idea generally emerges from a small group of people amongst the masses and more just social ideas of how to live life and view others generally emerged and overthrow old taboos, I wouldn't call it natural selection but its in the same spectrum as it.

In Genesis in the bible it doesn't specify the time periods, most believe in miraculous days but I believe that these were long time periods through which God guided natural selection to come up with us. Before you make huge claims about religion not being relevant do a depth-study into Christianity.

When I heard from a friend of darwins law stating upon choosing mates, the best one is to the choose the dominant one. Therefore if there is weakness, it won't happen. @MultiSpread There is the fact of evolution, then there is the theory of evolution by natural selection. Natural selection cannot be defined as a fact because it describes a mechanism that drives evolution, which is unobservable. All we see is the product of it - the evolution of the species we see today and in the fossil record. Other theories describe further, but (probably) less powerful, mechanisms that can lead to evolution, such as founder/bottleneck effects followed by genetic drift.

Technically, Darwin's theory is easy to understand and can even be seen today in human's adaptation to different climate and environment. Per instance, a higher level of melamine for those living in warmer, sunnier climate (darker skin) or the abilities to support oxygen rarification for those living in high altitude. Evolution is an observable phenomenon. Darwins theory was that it is driven by natural selection and the evidence for this is overwhelming. To think that in the 21st century there are still children being taught that we came into existence on the whim of an invisible dictator that lives in the sky, just because that's what our bronze age ancestors believed is both sad and depressing.

Natural selection does not mean sivival of the fittest, natural selection is just an advantage that allows you to pass your genes to the next generation. In example a birth with beautiful fethers, is maybe too fragil but its beauty attracks many females to mate. Or a female fish that can produce a big number of eggs has more chances to transfer this genes to next generations, the baby fishes are maybe weak and they are eaten but they survive becasue of the high amount of them.

@legolasgreenleaff You are correct. There is a ton of evidence that demonstrates evolution. The problem is that evolution is used as a scape goat nowadays for atheistic thought. The uneducated respond to this by rejecting the notion of it. If I tell people that I'm a Christian that believes in evolutionary processes, then I am bashed because it is claimed that God is not necessary. It's a vicious cycle because the argument is now just based off of defense mechanisms and not truth. God bless.

Contradictions are found through quote mining and misinterpretation, a history of foolish decisions by those who claimed to be Christian does not portray a relationship with Christ, and the existence of a sea of darkness does not mean that there is no true light. =)

If you take a Bible away from me, I would still be able to speak the truth that it holds without knowing where exactly in the Scriptures they are. Your point is interesting, yet any given history book is a copy of a copy and so on. They only make small revisions here and there in a history book. To provide you with evidence is to give you testimony. I am extremely busy, but I am willing when I have time.

Chickens are actually more related to reptiles because they evolved from dinosaurs.

@alienisuntverus Yes, according to the rules of taxonomy, separating birds from reptiles is a false dichotomy. A taxonomic group should contain a common ancestor and all its decendents. Apparently, most taxonomists classify reptiles separately as Crocodilia, Testudines, Squamata etc for this reason.

I find it very arrogant to say that we are created in gods image, because that is just another way of saying that we are gods and if you look at churches its full of pageantries just like we would imagine a god to life like.
Even the intelligent design idea is not how a god would create things, it is exactly the way that we humans design machines and so on. Short sighted without thinking what consequences our doings might have.

@alienisuntverus Just to elaborate a bit more... The common ancestor between humans and apes started to evolve in different ways, some survived for awhile, some didn't but the branch of today's ape is now just a further evolved ape and we are a further evolved ape. We are both still apes, sort of.

Nature chooses. There's several different ways. an example would be geographic isolation where populations of the same species are separated because of environmental forces. The 2 populations then breed seperately and over time, they become more and more different genetically as they adapt to the new environment to the point where it's impossible for any member of one population to breed with another.
That is only one way though. There's more like behavioral isolation.

ok, if you don't believe in evolution, you don't have to say that it's wrong because it has not been proven yet, and so have not YOUR beliefs of how the world started and how certain animals became to be like what they are now, for example, 100 years ago, people were shorter, the doorway shows that, now we need higher doorways because of our height. so this is evidence, and i'm not saying that evolution is right, it just hasn't been proven yet, it is a theory, just like your beliefs.
