Oh man....you have to have some real skills and balls to ride like Sam.......i mean.....1 mistake and you land into the tree......and SKOOLED, there's no way you could handle those kind of trails with your hardtail......you would crack your frame and you would be thrown in the air unless you were going 10 kM/h.

more flats on a hardtail might be the dumbest statement I ever heard. If you seed your tires properly and run correct psi's you wont have more flats on a hardtail then a full suspension

that why i ride with bike mechanics and some of them ride hardtails and they complain about flat tires right. with a hardtail the tire gets the full impact. on a soft tail it doesnt get as much due to the shock.

Im a bike mechanic and I see your logic, and it is true to an extent. But its more of the type of tires, size of tires, size of rims, tire psi, and proper seeding of the tire. If all of this is done properly it doesnt make a difference what your riding. For instance I get more flats on my downhill bike because I am riding a thinner tire size for my rims giving more space between the two to get pinch flats. I get less flats on my hardtail where I have my wheels set up properly.

full suspension bikes really help dude. if you can find one the santa cruz super 8 dh is probably the best bike you can get for the money, i got mine for 800 dollars. its just really old but its super tough and handles well.
