  • nikon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's all about your needs, not about the brand! SO hands down for both of them! I'm a Nikon user but i actually like Canon picture quality more and also the video stuff. But that's just me. :D

  • It's not about the camera brand. It's more about the user's eye for great pictures.

  • canon all the way. @coolbuddydude1 LOL

  • I like to make fun out of my Nikon friends, but honestly, I'm canon user but nikon you just as good as canon, both great, high quality, high tech, high everything!

  • Another very important point, use the system you are most comfortable with, in regards to menu understanding and ease of use, that will help you when you need to act quickly in taking a better photo.

  • 35 years a full time pro photographer-Nikon was my start up camera in 1975 and the D3 is still my choice today, Canon had come a long way over the years, but Nikon (other than a period of time in 2000-2005) always edged it out. Better Lenses, better ergonomics and design, easier menus, as well as tougher bodies in the top of the line cameras. But above all better lenses in the pro line.

  • Nikon D7k user :)

  • Canon or Nikon ? Answer is NIKON!

  • Comment removed

  • Just shut up and buy what you want!!

  • HASSELBLAD, the camera that went to the MOON!

  • @coolbuddydude1 It still is on the Moon.. it was so bad they didnt bother to take it back. :P

  • @cwathne

Ya well I bet its still working, even today!

  • Comment removed

  • ...but you still have to choose, so choose Canon if you're into sports, Nikon, if you're more a wide angle landscape photographer.

  • Nikon, for wide angle; Canon, for telephoto.

  • @Meshwork123 depends on the lens..

  • Sony Alpha

  • Comment removed

  • On the lower end of SLR, Canon but as you go up the model chain, I vote Nikon.

  • lol, for all the noobs out there, this is a nikon commercial!

  • Ergonomically I prefer Nikon for photos. The buttons, dials, and switches are all large and spaced well enough apart that I rarely press the wrong one. I found some of the buttons on the 7D a bit small for my hands, though the grip was beefy and awesome. Canon's shutter releases tend to feel more plasticy with much less force required to take the shot.

Image quality is the same in good light. Low light is still Nikon's domain though, if you shoot over iso 10,000 regularly, you shoot on a Nikon.

  • Psh! Everyone knows Sony is better than Canon and Nikon!

  • @ingaman sony has decent digital slr but doesn't rule the market to the extent that canon and nikon do. you're just saying sony because it's a name you're familiar with. growing up and possibly even now you play playstation, a sony product. I know that I did. blue ray would essentially not even exist if it weren't for sony. but canon and nikon are the essence of the digital photography world because that's all they do. if all sony did was build digital slrs, they would fit this category

  • @zach3493 True, they don't rule the market.... yet... also true Sony is more multifaceted than Canon and Nikon, but I simply stated Sony is better.

  • people really care so much about the brand of the camera?

  • I love me the camerama not the camera

  • Canon.. I had a Nikon and Canon just better. How ever nothing wong Nikon. They both are good but it is not just the name of the camera that makes good photos. It is who ever behind it that makes the best of what they have.

  • nikon!

  • Leica nuff said :) x

  • The Canon guys all look like assholes. The one at 50 seconds looks like a guy that would totally argue his point in a debate where he doesn't actually have a clue what he's talking about.

  • very nice video, by the end of it you cant tell which brand they are talking about, and that makes you realize its not about the camera but your preferences.

  • Phase One medium format! try to beat that Image Quality. And now what? N .vs C. Loosers!

  • @qubuss, You spelled Losers wrong.

  • who cares?!

  • canon sucks!

  • Great photographs don't come from 'great' cameras, they come from great people (who understand their machine). If you have to ask which is better, then maybe you should start building some real skill and vision instead. There will always be a 'better' camera out there ... what needs to change is the attitude. Stop blaming the gear and start focusing your skill. An artist (a real photographer) DOES NOT blame his gear, he uses it.

  • @RodneyDeutschmann until his gear gives him inaccurate metering/focusing when he needs it. This whole "Great photographs come from great photographers" quote is being way over exaggerated. Yes, the concept is true but the fact still remains that a pro body camera WILL allow the photographer to take better photographs because of many things i.e. ergonomics, noise control, MLU ability, etc...

  • *use canon ^^

  • when will people realize that the thing is called NIKON (with a short i)... and NOT nYkon.... but dont get me wrong... im NOT prejudiced about nikon ^^ ...despite the fact that i also Canon

  • @ThomasRoscoe People pronounce words differently in different locales, but you know that. Do you say water or woter for H20? Root or route? House or hoowse? ;)

  • Fuji S2 Pro

  • NIKON D7000 for life baby!

  • Canon ._.

  • Leica

  • its NEE Kon not NI Kon : its nt english, its japanese not english

  • Nikon is good for shooting, and Canon is good for filming. I'll go with Nikon!

  • @koolguy45580

  • If I could, I'd own both systems - each has it's good and not so good points.

  • LA NIKON ES LA MEJOR DE TODA LA PUTA VIDA

  • The fanbois here don't get that this is a spoof. :D How does your camera smell? Seriously? This is pretty good reason to go to Sony right there...

  • iPhone camera....

  • Leica

  • regardless, this competition between canon and nikon is great. they're pushing each other to improve their models rapidly and constantly, and therefore the prices are kept lower because they have to be competitive. not that they're cheap... but if there was just canon, or just nikon, they surely would be more expensive and less advanced.

  • autofocus of the canon? has he USED a 5D2? i chuckled

  • 1. Hasselblad

    2. Nikon

    3. Canon

thats my list, i wont even add the rest of the brands.

  • Hasselblad wins!

  • i am a sony user... but i'd pick nikon over canon.

  • CANON

  • Canon 5d mark ii...

  • .: NIKON :.

  • Have no clue on the canon but my d7000 is a champion, I can't take shitty shots no matter how much I suck! Light levels and lack of noise is awesome, I took some dusk/night shots with a nifty fifty (1.8f not 1.4f) and an iso of 1600 and 3200 and wow it looked like day with no noticeable noise at standard print size (A4). If you want a proven high end 1.5 crop sensor dslr, go the d7000! With Photoshop and a d7000 you will blow people away with your photos!!!

  • @carlosamigosAUS With Photoshop and a $100 point & shoot you will blow people away... if you lie and say you haven't used Photoshop.

  • @mdma111 It's the exposure, iso, shutter speeds, colour correction and the changes a raw format (Nikon's NEF format) gives you that really come together that make it great with Photoshop, a point and shoot has no flexibility in that department. 90 percent of my photos have had only minor colour and exposure tweaks in Lightroom to perfect them, that's what makes the d7000 awesome, effortless art. True though, Photoshop is the bomb.

  • @carlosamigosAUS ...no matter how good a camera it is...it is never "effortless art". If that is how you feel then your photographs may not be as good as you think they are. The only relevant feature you mentioned was ISO. All of the rest you can take care of with a point and shoot. Yes, a point and shoot has raw format as well as manual controls and all of the other stuff you mentioned.

  • @snowboardbum Or maybe you have no creativity or any knowledge of what art is and can't imagine taking a photo with such ease, creating beauty unseen before, sunsets with such richness you could touch them! Of course composing and subject matter are needed to create "art" but we are talking about the camera here. I haven't seen a point and shoot that uses raw, even so I was referring to the flexibility of these features not whether they have them, try to read before bashing your keyboard troll!

  • @carlosamigosAUS Also make a point, just because you have never experienced taking a perfect picture without effort doesn't mean you should go around telling people it isn't possible! It just means you are shit! Deal with it!

  • @carlosamigosAUS It doesn't mean anything...this post, however, just reveals your own ignorance and close-mindedness. You're not getting my point. If there was no "effort" involved in the picture making process, then that picture could be x10 better if you did try with effort. Rofl, this just means that you yourself are shit. Deal with it.

Note - There is never a "perfect" picture. Give it two weeks and look back on the picture...you will want to recapture it.

  • @snowboardbum every good picture is relative and has no bearing of how it came about, if a perfect pic was taken by simply pressing a button, that makes it not good, or art? man you don't have a clue, if you ever used a dslr maybe you would get it, obviously by your comments you have not seen the results of a mid to high end Nikon, what do you know of photography and art? You are a troll, you have contributed nothing but negativity to these comments so you are a TROLL! Fucking get a life!

  • @carlosamigosAUS Lmfao where do you get this shit? Do you even read what you are typing before you send it? Seriously? Oh gee, I didn't realize comments on youtube reveals a stranger's life story...rofl. I used to own D700 14-24 2.8 35 1.4g 85 1.4d 70-200 VR II then switched to Canon and currently have 5d mark ii 17-40 f4 35 1.4L 70-200 IS II and will be getting a 135 f/2 for a street setup. Good job, you just made yourself look like an arrogant fool who thinks he can read minds.
  • @snowboardbum I can see where this is going let me be the bigger man and stop this fucking childish shit now! One last request? Post a vid in the next 12 hours of you with your mark 2 and three lovely lenses just for kicks and giggles?

  • @carlosamigosAUS hahahaha here you are claming to be a bigger man on youtube. Don't you just love sarcasm? You should have saw where this was going from the beginning because of your ignorance towards camera gear. Take your ego and go use your AMAZING D7000..

  • @snowboardbum "Life story" what the fuck do you about me besides the fact that I own a fucking camera and think art is something YOU can't describe to me or judge for me? I'm over this again! TRoll Troll TRoll Troll, get the beat, sing along!

  • @carlosamigosAUS Yeah This snowboardum is a real piece of emotion baggage. he's all over me over a shitty guitarist channel.. LOL He's a piece of excretement.

  • @drummerbadass1 Dude, without trolls the world of youtube would be boring, he has a either a little man complex or just has no life beyond his keyboard. People that have nothing but negativirty to bring to a conversation deserve no ones time, peace, PTB bless you!

  • @snowboardbum Again for your ten brain cells, "effortless art" was an easy way to describe the efficiency and glory of the d7000 not to clarify what effort is needed for art! To take that statement literally? You would have to be a fucking complete fuckwit. Oh you really took that statement literally? I feel sorry and sad for you now! Effortless would mean not even touching the fucking camera! Finally, I thought you were bashing your keyboard as your comments make no sense! Unless you're a troll

  • @carlosamigosAUS If I had ten brain cells then why are you getting all heated in this debate? You're just being an immature "troll" and cannot keep your emotions out of this debate. You're mexican...take your Ritalin and run back home to Mexico. Shew.

  • @snowboardbum I'm pissed at some fuckwit that has nothing worth saying in regards to Nikon or Canon and what this has become is a pissing contest. This is childish shit and if you need to reel off your mark 2 and lenses to feel like you're something, go for it, I don't believe you, if you had a full frame you would be the first to point out how much these dslr's (on auto) can kill P&S's, but no you think you can do it with Photoshop and a P&S. I don't get it! Again, unless you are a troll.

  • @carlosamigosAUS I have plenty worth saying but you are extremely distracting with these personal comments and your issue with involving your emotions during a debate. Are you even sane right now? I never bragged about having a 5d mark ii...wtf are you talking about..."this has become a pissing contest"...you seriously have issues staying on topic. You don't believe that I own full frame gear? Ok...I don't need to make a video to prove something such as that too some person on youtube.

  • @carlosamigosAUS I can send multiple photos that I have taken with a D700 or a 5d mark ii and you can check the exif info just so YOU can believe whatever it is that you are wanting to. YOU are the only one who ever mentioned using photoshop to make your picture better...not me. I believe in getting the photo right the first time...not in photoshop you twat. Take your self-entitled "amateur" anger problems and go take some shitty pictures so that you can spend the next hour in photoshop.

  • @snowboardbum What debate? There is no comparison period. If there were people wouldn't NEED dslr's, just want! They take better shots whether it is in a shoot or just messing around at the park, if that is your argument then I have nothing to learn from this and will not waste my time with it. I don't call this a debate I call it someone replying with negativity and doubt inducing comments for all to read who might consider a dslr until your stupid posts tells them a P&S will do the same!

  • @carlosamigosAUS My god you are the most closed-minded person I have talked to on youtube. You need to take an english class at the local university. What comparison are you talking about? I bet you I can take better pictures with a d40 than you can with a d700. I am not being negative, I am being real. I told you, you need to learn how to keep your emotions out of a debate. You will fail if you keep taking everything personally. You sound like a troll.

  • @carlosamigosAUS You sound like you're explaining a day dream...are your pants still dry? I have no reason to bash my keyboard but it sounds like you do. Did you not read what I said? Every GOOD picture takes WORK. The super duper features on the camera has nothing to do with that work unless it is very consistent work such as doing a photoshoot. But for what you're describing (only ONE photo) you can use a P&S camera with RAW format capabilities.

  • @snowboardbum "Never effortless art and never a perfect picture" and you call me close minded and ignorant? Get a life troll, and again what is your point, I'm not getting it because there is no fucking point! You have to READ the posts and see that never did anyone say art IS effortless, it was a THROW AWAY comment on how you can produce beautiful art with PRACTICALLY no effort. Are you fucking retarded? I bet you haven't even held a camera worth more than your ass ($5, $10 if you bleached it)

  • @carlosamigosAUS My ass must be real expensive from your 100% correct perception then, right?

    D700

    14-24 2.8

    35 1.4g

    85 1.4d

    70-200 VR II

Geez, even in 50 years this equipment will be worth more than $10.

You're a troll. You need to calm down and stop freaking out. Take your Ritalin I just prescribed you.

  • @snowboardbum You can't get the crispness and sharpness that comes from a 1k 80-200mm 2.8f dslr lens from a P&S, no matter what you do with Photoshop. If you could I wonder why people like myself spend 2-3 thousand dollars on lenses and bodies for dslr's? according to you we are all stupid? look up the cheap camera challenge vids and then tell me a P&S camera can take great shots? "Pants still dry"? Grow up! That's art, mock it if you will, you might get it 1 day. Until then, go fuck yoseeeelf

  • @carlosamigosAUS Wow. Would you like some Ritalin? The only reason why those lenses cost so much is because of the 2.8 constant aperture (or 1.4, 1.2, etc..) and the build quality. Would you not consider the leica m9 or m8 a P&S? You don't need to spend thousands on equipment to get good quality you "fuckwit". That gear is designed for working pro's who make a living off of photography. Btw, the D7000 isn't that great lmao. At least try a D700 before sounding like an amateur.

  • @snowboardbum you are a waste of time, you talk of how you can get these fucking shots from a P&S but say you "used to own a d700" right you did. Why the fuck do I have to be an amateur just because the extra $300 went on a lens instead of a d700 over the d7000, I have no need for 35mm and the crop gives my 300 a 400 zoom. I aint no pro by far, you on the other hand must be big time mate. And wow you can say aperture, you fucking genius, I'm over this, you have nothing worth knowing!!

  • Hasselblad. :D

  • I heard this somewhere else, but it's like Coke and Pepsi, I like them both, as they are very similar.

  • NIKON D3100!

  • pentax... oh wait.

  • Luminous Landscape described the d3x as being the best dslr. These guys have owned and used every top end camera from Leica M and S, to Phase One 80mp backs. I`ve always owned nikons, and currently own a d3x, so cannot comment on canon.

Numbers and figures - the DXO Mark website demonstrates the d3x to have a dynamic range of 13.7, whereas the 1ds3 has 12 (d3x DR beats 90% of medium fomat digital). Color depth for the d3x is 24.7, canon has 24, and the d3x has a better low light ISO score.

  • doesn't matter

  • None of them... be different, not boring ;)...

  • haha! GO CANIKON!!!!!!

  • I USE CANON!!!!!

only for their fine damn Printers!

    :)

  • HUH NIKON IS IS FOR EXPIRED PEOPLE

  • Hasselblad

  • HASSELBLAD !!!!!!!!!!

  • CANON DAMMIT!!!

  • NIKON all the way!

  • a great photographer once told me, '"If you absolutely positively have to capture 'the shot' then you use a Canon, but if you absolutely positively have to capture 'your imagination' then you use a Nikon.

    nuff said.

  • @394pjo meh

  • disposable cameras FTW!!!!

  • At this point optics matter way more then the actual cameras, both come with shit lenses.

  • @bmays002 I recommend Leica R glass via a convertor on any dslr

  • NIKON!!

  • I've invested a ridiculous amount of time studying both lines of cameras. When it comes to hardware, build quality, and picture/price ratio output... Nikon wins. When it comes to firmware and video quality... Canon wins. The difference in picture quality is very minimal though, both perform well at high ISO and output nice color/levels/dynamic range/etc. The build quality of both are good - see which button layout you like best. Firmware is VERY important... and it's a simple fix, cmon nikon.

  • @TheEditingResource Nah, Nikon are made in Thailand, and they get their sensors from Sony.

Canon is the real deal these days. Nikon were the deal years ago.

  • @Exupery1976 Completely ass-backwards. Canon is going downhill while Nikon is going up even with the huge set back they had caused by the flood in Thailand. They each have their pros and cons...5d mark ii excels at studio/landscape/portrait work while the D700 excels at everything else (except video obviously).

*Note* - Keyword = EXCELS (for any fanboys that will get upset).

  • @snowboardbum The Canon 1D X is camera technology going downhill? You mind telling me which Nikon model beats it?

Nikons are certainly capable cameras, but Canon has just been several steps ahead of them for years now. I liked it more when it was more neck and neck, but Nikon has slipped. It embarrasses me for Nikon.

  • Anyway, enjoy your Sony sensor in a Nikon body.

  • Comment removed

  • @Exupery1976 Lloyd Chambers, ex canon user, preferred the d3x due to its 14bit images and compared the image quality of the sony to a d700, so nikon have obviously optimised the sensor. Chambers prefers the d3x as his high end dslr

  • @snifnscratch The d3x is great - it should be. It's performance at high ISO's great. But the Canon 1D X is coming for it. :)

  • @Exupery1976 There are no long-term Canon 1D X tests available yet, so the jury is out. I know theres more to a camera than megapixel count, but 18 simply isn`t enough for large prints. If nikons next top end camera costs a little more than the d3x I`ll buy it. Either way I`m heading for 4 by 5" large format film eventually - dslrs image quality is limited by sensor size, and MF digital is limited by cost and some dubious lenses

  • @Exupery1976 Rofl. Do you have a 1DX in your hands? Didn't think so. That's just an announcement because they know Nikon is getting ready to announce the D4 and will be able to have it available for shipment by march or later. Therefore, Canon had to announce the 1DX so early because it will take them a while to have it ready for shipment.

Any other arguments? I mean really? You used ONE camera as your strong point and it isn't even in stores yet...

Canon fucked over the 5d Mark ii. Period.

  • @snowboardbum I touched a nerve, I see. If I was a Nikon user - believe me - I'd be very sensitive about the state of Nikon too. The regression of Nikon is an elephant in the room of photography. Everyone knows it, but doesn't want to bring it up...

  • ...A few examples of what I'm talking about when it comes to the shortcomings of Nikon in regards to Canon: Sony sensors, less quality lenses than Canon, less video quality, clunky body design, made in sweatshops in Thailand (all but the flagship models), the software isn't included with the purchase of a new Nikon, but is with all Canons that can do RAW...

  • ...Let me reiterate something: Sony sensors. That's sad - the most important aspect of a body is in the hands of thier competitor. I think it will be interesting when Sony gains enough market-share that it starts to cripple the sensors it sells to Nikon.

As far as the Canon 1D X goes, I hear you. We'll wait and see. But (considering Canon's research and dev in the last few), I know - and you do too, if you aren't still in a state of denial - it's going to have Nikon for lunch.

  • @Exupery1976 First of all, you are talking out of your ass. I do not even shoot with Nikon you twat. Nothing that you have said are facts...those are your own OPINIONS. Canon's WA zooms are shit and you know it. Canon has nothing to compete with Nikon's 14-24...WA is one of the main advantages to Full frame. Really...you need software included? Please. Rarely anyone uses that marketing bullshit. Grab a copy of CS5 and LR3 and get off my nuts.

  • @Exupery1976 Seriously. Please point out some review tests as to which lenses are better than Nikon's because last time I checked, their lenses offer much higher build quality. Canon's 24-70 is also shit. Yes, you did touch a nerve. There is always some arrogant prick who thinks he can win an argument from "facts" that you made up yourself. Maybe if you had any real, solid evidence backing up your argument I would listen, but you don't. One more thing, Nikon offers 5 year warranty. Canon doesn't

  • @snowboardbum The Nikon D4 was announced. Spec-wise, the Canon 1D X whoops it. Check it out, and compare. Check mate.

  • @Exupery1976 Already have. Are you a photographer? or a fanboy? Photographers don't compare "specs" to determine the better camera. Stop making yourself look like an arrogant fool.

  • @snowboardbum LOL @ Canon 24-70 being shit. Fool.

  • @CaesarRex You must have been lucky and received a good copy. Try doing a little research and you will find that most people would rather have the Nikon version. Have you compared both in person? If not, shut up. I am talking from personal experience as well as the research I have done.

  • 1:10 Dude Why Are You High?

  • "The camera? No, no, no! That doesn't matter! What matters is what's infront and behind of the camera!"

    -FilmRiot

  • long live to canon......regards

  • End the video was filmed with a canon..:))

  • canon

  • I use my Canon 550D for filming and my Nikon D700 for photography.

  • CANON

  • Nikon!!!!

  • NIKON D7000!!!

  • CANON!

  • NIKON

  • Apple Iphone...:)

  • i own a nikon DSLR and a Canon SLR. they both make me happy

  • @NO0Bstatus Traitor!

  • @dadagers How immature of you. Honestly, I like both very much... But I own a Nikon. >.<

  • CANONNNNNNN

  • canon

  • Nikon

  • CANON!!

  • Comment removed

  • NIKON!!! D7000

  • @ensonmr ...is no 35mm :P

  • Canon.

  • NIKON.

  • Many, way; too many support whatever camera or product they happen to own. They get behind that product as though they were getting paid to promote it. ME? NOT SO MUCH! I can own a Nikon and recognize that Canon is better in some areas. Very often I am stopped and asked what camera I recommend. I ask what they are shooting and often recommend Canon. I've owned Nikon for 38 years, many, many Nikons. But Nikon is a Phillips Head Screwdriver, not the best tool when faced with a Standard Head Screw.

  • Cameras are tools, no one tool works best for all jobs. Pick the right tool for the right job. That may be a Nikon for sports shots, rock concerts, low light events where Nikon's low noise at high ISOs cannot be beat. If shooting a glamour centerfold, fashion or portrait session, Canon's color palette and smoother transition between skin tones is what I would use. With the right budget... HASSELBLAD!

  • Nothing Canon has can top the high ISO performance of the Nikon D700 and above series of cameras. There's just something special about the Nikon sensor when it comes to low noise at high ISO. Canon on the otherhand reproduces skin tones in a way that Nikon does not. It seems like Canon has a smoother transition between shades of skin tone colors making it better for portraits, glamour and people pictures. Nikon's contrast gives the illusion of being sharper, snappier, great for sports, concerts.

  • Such a silly argument! As if you can be a better piano player if you play a Steinway vs a Dusseldorf it's the photographer, not the camera. If you. Ant make pictures in either one of these great cameras, you are the problem

  • Nikon! I'll take high iso performance over MP any day especially when shooting a wedding. The low light performance and ergonomics of a Nikon feel superior to me and I've shot both canons and various nikons. Now that canon has announced the 1dx it should beat out the nikon d3s in low light and MP... that is until the D4 (or whatever the name will be) gets announced!

  • Enter Sony. Hoohaaa!

  • nikon

  • why do nasa and some aeronautics institute used nikon? well that's answers now why i used my nikon..buahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Sony spanks both

  • The only difference in my opinion is your taste in how you want your button layout. I personally like the older canon's layout but prefer the newer Nikon layout opposed to the new cannons

  • it depends on the talent of the user!

  • its whats behind the camera not whats in front.

  • CANON BITCHES!

  • it really doesn't matter which camera you are shooting with, the matter is what lens you are using and your light setup whether natural light or studio.

  • Hasselblad :P

  • Pros use: 69% Canon, 23% Nikon, 8% others. Find Picture of the year data and see what the professionals use :-)

  • who do you trust? a young guy saying his Nikon is best or the old man with years and years of experience saying Canon.
