  • Thank you for the excellent breakdown of this trick!

  • Yeah! I'm gonna try this next time I swing.

  • This looks so fun!

  • For the backflip, is the follow grabbing the lead's forearm with her hands, or is the follow's wrists hooked over the lead's forearm? Either way, it appears that - near the end of the flip - her elbows are her [pivot point] - she is rotating/pivoting around his forearm, and her [pivot point] is her inner elbows.

Besides this point of confusion, thanks for this great series - the way dance tutorials should be.

  • I can understand the confusion. The follower grabs the leader's forearm with her hands when she first comes around to steady herself. Then, when the leader preps for the backflip, she lets go with her hands and uses her arms as well. If the follower holds on to the leader's arm with her hands during the flip, it will cause resistance and slow down the aerial, putting strain on the guy's arm. Hope this clears it up!

  • What song is this?

  • It is an instrumental version of "Don't Be That Way" by Benny Goodman from the CD Tuxedo Junction: Big Band Swing Classics.
