Eh idk about that. I love socom combined assault and S3 too, but with confrontation you don't really have that bullshit lag where you unload on someone and they don't die, or someone shoots you once and you die.

I have to agree with you there. The village one (retaliation I think) tidal fury, killing fields, boot camp, devils road, and boneyard I loved. I don't like the Confrontation maps any better, but that's probably cuz I don't really know them as well. But I think I like the gameplay of Confrontation better. It seems easier to aim and kill people easier. But then again that could be because of the lack of lag

Combined Assault and Socom 3 are played on the same server online. So if you have CA and your friend has S3, you two can play together on the S3 maps. but then you can go and play CA maps with other people that have CA later.

There are like 6-10 new maps. i cant remember exactly cuz ive been getting used to all the maps on Confrontation so the S3 maps and CA maps seem like the same thing now. But theres new guns and new maps for CA

you should get Socom Combined Assault. it has the Socom 3 maps, plus the Combined Assault maps since they are on the same server. 2 for 1. unless you want S3 for the single player.

Socom 4 Beta is supposed to be coming out soon, which last i heard S4 is an all online game. but thats for PS3.

SOCOM:CA online looks fun, I hope it is because the single player campaign was agonizingly bad.

I just can't understand why the developers couldn't make your teammates' AI just a tiny bit smarter, they don't have to be military geniuses, that's my job, just following orders properly, taking cover, and knowing that they can't hit an enemy if there's a freaking rock a feet away from their faces (so please don't pull that trigger or my whole ambush plan goes down the drain) would be enough.

yea i agree. i stood and watched jester try to climb up into the vent 5 or 6 times (on that one mission where you start in the water and mark all the chemical weapons in the facility) before i shot him. then he got up just fine. haha. seriously tho, online is better. but i havent played since i got call of duty 4, so... its still a good game tho

Good thing the new Socom is an all-online game, no more stupid Simple with all that "sniper" training, but he couldn't nail a guy 50 feet away equiped with the best rifles and sights in the whole game, he must have had cataract or something.

haha. on that same level, i wanted jester to take out the guy on the hill. i gave him an M87ELR (i think thats it) and high scope of course. i had an IW80A2 high scope, but i wanted him to take out the guy. hes like no-can-do so i was like screw it and i sniped the guy with the IDub. the only thing the team is good for is planting bombs... some times

i went to see my dad in Florida for a week. he has PS2 and no online. i knew i could play PS2 but i wanst sure about no online. it was bad. haha. i would go thru the levels with just a pistol to make it challenging, but the team AI was just so bad i couldnt take it. i just did run and gun. thats how i got thru levels. my teamwork was poor tho. haha

you get much better service for 360, and better online games, and you can download so much more content. since ps3 online is free, they don't even bother managing it well, which leads up to lag and dropped servers.

PS2 online sucked. mainy cuz my connection isnt the fastest, but PS3 online... no complaints. my connection keeps me playing perfectly on CoD4. and if its ever laggy, its cuz the host's connection for the room was bad. solution? go to another room. problem fixed.

so i have 1 laggy game 1 time a week. lets do the math. lets say an average of 3 hours a day, 7 days a week, thats 21 hours a week. 21 times 60 is 1,260 minutes a week. 1 game is what- 10 minutes (im talking about call of duty 4)? so 1250 divided by 1260 is .9921. so not paying for online and having a 99% happiness rating, i think its worth it. espicially if i had to pay for online and it still gets laggy. that would just make me realize im an idiot

2. FULL internet access- i have been on and watched youtube on my PS3

3. backwards compatibility

4. wireless controllers that you charge thru the usb connections on the PS3 (no buying batteries)

5. bluetooth compatibility for online mics

i cant think of anything more worth mentioning. im not telling you what to do, but i just prefer Playstation 3 over Xbox 360. thats just my view

...and even tho i got a ps3, i still have the same ps2 that i had in 2000. i played it pretty much everyday for hours, and many times into the morning and/or left it on overnight (accidently from watching dvds and falling asleep). my dog even pissed on the corner and rusted the a/v cable plugin on the back and it still runs and plays fine from all the "abuse" in the past 8 years

i prefer the HK36, front grip and suppressor 1. people say its the weakest gun in the game, but i can own with it. its more accurate than any other gun without a scope, except maybe the 552 with the same setup. i only use the Idub with a high scope on maps when people are sniping and rushing. but id pick the HK36, or 552 over anyother gun.

its probably a problem with the headset. take it back or get another one. Logitech ones work, thats what i had. unless its a problem with the usb port youre plugging it into, then its the PS2/PS3. i doubt putting in a different game will fix the problem

eh, theres a new revolver, and a shotgun attachment for the M4A1. theres a couple new sweet (in my opinion) maps. but the graphics are the same, and no real improvements. i'd say buy it just for the maps, and dont expect anything else.

if you get Socom Combined Assault, you can play the Socom 3 maps online since they are played on the same server, but Socom 3 cant play Combined Assault maps. Yes the game has the HK5, its alright. the maps, unless you want them big, are medium sized. you have to buy map packs online thru the socom store- thats all i know, i never bought any. i think theyre like $5 or something. and yes you can make up to 3 personalized taunts. id get it if you have a PS2, if you have a PS3, get Call Of Duty 4.
