Yea, you're right it doesn't. But in cases of drop shots, he's partially right, depending on how the bird turns/flips, can determine how great of a drop shot it is. But overall, you're right, it makes no sense. This is why Americans shouldn't commentate Badminton.

Here is a sample of his stupid "wisdom" -- "Badminton is a game of chance. You can't predict how the shuttle behaves". Wow, how stupid can he be to say that when he is witnessing one of the great badminton players of all time putting on a virtuoso performance.

Too bad. He doesn't know what a netshot is. He seems to imply that the game of badminton is based on chance rather than skill. I guess he would call tennis a "chance" game too based on how the ball behaves when it clips the net cord. He sounded surprised at seeing a powerful backhand drive.
