The strumming of Green Day songs is so unique. I think it's that old rock n' roll roots way of strumming. There's a video around here on how to play punk rock on guitar and it's mostly Green Day's strumming. Many people diss it coz Johnny Ramone said it was all down-strums - but what the hey.
