Yamcha and krillin are almost at the same lvl, but in the most part of the DB and DBZ saga Yamcha its a little stronger. But at the end krillin its a more important char.

It stands to reason Olibu probably could have softened Cell up quite a bit had he been there. In the seven years between Cell and this, Yamcha didn't train at all. For Yamcha to beat Olibu, Yamcha should have been able to severely harm Perfect Cell.
@kingoftheswing000 Since Yamcha fell to the Cell Jrs like almost everyone else, this means Perfect Cell was out of his league altogether. Unless, in those seven years, Olibu lost a *lot* of strength, there's no plausible explanation why Yamcha could beat him. What all these fillers serve is to give us something interesting to watch without affecting the storyline any; a trick they use to let the manga keep ahead of the anime. Ultimately, all filler's meaningless to the plot or the characters.

The story started from Z fighters which were Goku, Krillen, Tian, Yamcha, Chiatzu and Picollo and ended at Goku and vegeta -___-, I mean what was the sense of putting Z if Z fighters were not going to have anything to do in the series after the start. I like DBZ a lot but still they really messed up with the Z fighters.
I know Yamcha is stronger than Videl/Hercule/Tao/Chaozu/Yajirobe but not Chichi... You think yamcha dare to fight Chichi (especially when shes mad) ?

Tien was always stronger than Krillin and Yamcha from the beginning to the end. Due to the fact that he held down Cell . Krillin was stronger than Tien when he got his powers unlocked but Tien surpassed him. Yamcha was always weaker than the two.

@chrisdragonb1988 Saibaman self-destructs and kills Yamcha. Krillin killed three Saibamen, simultaneously, with a slow-moving ki attack, and had energy to hit Vegeta/Nappa and the remaining Saibaman (despite failing to harm the first and missed the second). Yamcha's victories against Recoome and later, Olibu, are anime filler and are of dubious canon at best. The only fight I remember Yamcha actually winning in manga was an invisible man that Krillin helped him see.

Yamcha got to train on King Kai's planet, but we never see what boost it gave him (again, not counting the filler). Context is needed in how useful was Yamcha's training versus Krillin's powerup. Since the only clear case from King Kai's we get is Goku, we lack that context. Being from a fighting species means Goku would likely get more of a boost than humans would.

@Chronos1Almighty Goku getting a bust of about 21x his powerlevel after training with kai. If the Ginyu fight was real that would mean Yamcha got about a 45x increase.
@DH1986 except Goku and Yamcha are from different species. The Saiyans are a species born to fight and get substantially stronger from brutal fights. Humans don't. It's like comparing apples and oranges. If memory serves, Goku also spent more time on Kai's planet than Yamcha had when the Ginyu Force showed up. That Yamcha would have a larger boost to his power level than Goku did makes the Ginyu fight even more unbelievable, not less.
The only other things I can think to compare the two are what happens after Namek. The only things that come to mind are Krillin managing a headbutt against Imperfect Cell and Yamcha being impaled by either Android 19 or Dr. Gero in the chest. I don't know whether either of those are canon, however.
Now that I think about it, was there any power level reading of Yamcha at this point? If his is actually at least close to Recoome's, then Yamcha probably can beat him. Then again, Krillin probably could have too, had he been smart enough to use Kienzan as a sneak attack and not screamed it at the top of his lungs.

In mythic theory, all humans have a a third eye. The third eye represents psychic energy and abilities. It's said that some people are born with it open and others can train themselves to open it. Since Dragonball incorporates such mystical ideals, Tien having three eyes could easily be because he is a gifted pyschic.

we'll truthfully krillin was the only one that didn't really get much chance to train he was always on the front line of combat. his power grew with each battle. he has way more big fight experience then both Yamcha and tien. Also Krillin aside from Gohan is the only one to not Receive any training from King Kai they got the guru power up instead.. no matter how much Training TIen and Yamcha did krillin kept up Krillin was the only one to face every major enemy in all there forms (cept buu) DBZ

It's not that they're weak, it's just that their powers are ALWAYS overshadowed by all these aliens, androids, and crap that keep popping up. I really hate that Akira Toriyama did that.
@CyanideFilledCandy Also, you have to admit Krillin is a great martial artist. He's able to see people do certain techniques and he teaches HIMSELF how to do them. (He taught HIMSELF the kamahameha, the solar flare, the multiform (oh, and he is the ONLY human character to do this (I'm not sure Tien counts as human. There's some debate about that.), and how to fly.) Most others had others to teach them most of their techniques.

I agree. All the characters in DB-including Goku and Picollo (at 1st)-kind of became a joke compared to the overpowered characters in DBZ. The whole show became about raw power with characters drastically increasing power levels, while DB was all about technique and gradual improvement which I preferred.

I already explained why filler is never used in DBZ debates, there are just far to many plot holes. Toriyama had no part of it outside character design. Unless of course you think toriyama purposely put plot holes in his story with filler? Figure it out Jr, there is a reason why no one EVER uses filler in DBZ debates. @chrisdragonb1988 Saibaman self-destructs and kills Yamcha. Krillin killed three Saibamen, simultaneously, with a slow-moving ki attack, and had energy to hit Vegeta/Nappa and the remaining Saibaman (despite failing to harm the first and missed the second). Yamcha's victories against Recoome and later, Olibu, are anime filler and are of dubious canon at best. The only fight I remember Yamcha actually winning in manga was an invisible man that Krillin helped him see.

@chrisdragonb1988 Krillin got his potential unlocked from Guru beforehand, and failed to beat Recoome. Yamcha got to train on King Kai's planet, but we never see what boost it gave him (again, not counting the filler). Context is needed in how useful was Yamcha's training versus Krillin's powerup. Since the only clear case from King Kai's we get is Goku, we lack that context. Being from a fighting species means Goku would likely get more of a boost than humans would.

@DH1986 except Goku and Yamcha are from different species. The Saiyans are a species born to fight and get substantially stronger from brutal fights. Humans don't. It's like comparing apples and oranges. If memory serves, Goku also spent more time on Kai's planet than Yamcha had when the Ginyu Force showed up. That Yamcha would have a larger boost to his power level than Goku did makes the Ginyu fight even more unbelievable, not less.

The only other things I can think to compare the two are what happens after Namek. The only things that come to mind are Krillin managing a headbutt against Imperfect Cell and Yamcha being impaled by either Android 19 or Dr. Gero in the chest. I don't know whether either of those are canon, however.

Now that I think about it, was there any power level reading of Yamcha at this point? If his is actually at least close to Recoome's, then Yamcha probably can beat him. Then again, Krillin probably could have too, had he been smart enough to use Kienzan as a sneak attack and not screamed it at the top of his lungs.

In mythic theory, all humans have a a third eye. The third eye represents psychic energy and abilities. It's said that some people are born with it open and others can train themselves to open it. Since Dragonball incorporates such mystical ideals, Tien having three eyes could easily be because he is a gifted pyschic.

we'll truthfully krillin was the only one that didn't really get much chance to train he was always on the front line of combat. his power grew with each battle. he has way more big fight experience then both Yamcha and tien. Also Krillin aside from Gohan is the only one to not Receive any training from King Kai they got the guru power up instead.. no matter how much Training TIen and Yamcha did krillin kept up Krillin was the only one to face every major enemy in all there forms (cept buu) DBZ

It's not that they're weak, it's just that their powers are ALWAYS overshadowed by all these aliens, androids, and crap that keep popping up. I really hate that Akira Toriyama did that.

@CyanideFilledCandy Also, you have to admit Krillin is a great martial artist. He's able to see people do certain techniques and he teaches HIMSELF how to do them. (He taught HIMSELF the kamahameha, the solar flare, the multiform (oh, and he is the ONLY human character to do this (I'm not sure Tien counts as human. There's some debate about that.), and how to fly.) Most others had others to teach them most of their techniques.

I agree. All the characters in DB-including Goku and Picollo (at 1st)-kind of became a joke compared to the overpowered characters in DBZ. The whole show became about raw power with characters drastically increasing power levels, while DB was all about technique and gradual improvement which I preferred.

@laahah1 krillin isn't the strongest human. In dragonballz krillin doesn't even get in a real fight. Yamcha was never on tien level in the tournament yamcha went all out on tien and tien beat him up without even trying. Plus krillin is probably as strong as yamcha since they both stop training but tien would be able to beat him up without using his third eye. He can also make actual clones of himself and do neo-tri beam. Krillin would die

I already explained why filler is never used in DBZ debates, there are just far to many plot holes. Toriyama had no part of it outside character design. Unless of course you think toriyama purposely put plot holes in his story with filler? Figure it out Jr, there is a reason why no one EVER uses filler in DBZ debates.
