These scenes near the end of this film are so much better and scarier with the blue lighting in them. I really disliked the Blu-ray because of that. The 1999 DVD looked so elegant and creepy. Please write to Starz Entertainment and ask for a special edition on Blu-ray.

@ThatReallyQuietDude Don't forget Sidney Prescott. Shes my favorite heroine. She fights...Laurie does as well...but not that much in the first Halloween. In the first Scream Sidney busts her ass to stay alive, as well as the others. I love Sidney Prescott.

How can people think that Jason or Candyman (haha) is better or scarier than Michael Meyers? Im sorry but Jason has never once scraed me neither has Candyman, their names are not even scary theyre tunes are NOT scary, NOTHING about them is scary at all. The only other killer i think is awesome besides Michael Meyers is Freddy Cruger, even though hes not scary. lol but Michael Meyers still scares me till this day I'm 21 years old and still get afraid of that guy

Him standing at the top, then coming down the stairs like that, i think was the scariest part. Gotta agree with those raggin' on Zombie's butcher job on the remake & sequel. Went into the shit with an open mind, but GODDAMN those were awful movies. It's not awful that you come away from a film viewing experience with such a sense of violation. Seriously, it just makes you feel dirty...it's that bad!!!

@noirkitten The two remakes of Halloween were the most terrible thing I have ever watched!!! How could Rob Zombie make such a terrible Screenplay??? Does even Rob Zombie know what a stupid thing he has done???

P.S. The 1978 one and it's sequels are classic!!!

I think Rob Zombie's remakes are trash compared to John Carpenter's Halloween 1 and 2. True, Zombie's remakes were pretty intense at times and he put in some extra elements to the movies...but they just weren't scary and probably like half of the gore wasn't necessary. Half of the time the teenagers/people were busy humping each other way too much in the remakes (no I'm not a prude, but it was just ridiculous). In addition, the original Halloween theme will always be best (piano's are creepy).

I miss movie's bveing scary. Now it's only about blood and guts and crowd reactions. Things aren't Suspenseful like in this film.

@CoasterBoy567 I agree with everything you said for the most part except for the crowd reactions part. The original Halloween had one of the biggest crowd reactions of any horror film. Watch videos of its premeir. It was a mad house.
