@Alu122112211221 They are both high quality digital delays that are designed to have the best tone qualities of analog. The repeats on the Mad Prof are slightly darker than the standard mode of the Empress. Just ask yourself what you need (tap tempo, presets, tone control, modulation) We would recommend either! Thanks,
The Timefactor does more and is cheaper. I don't get how these companies make one trick ponies and sell it for more than the Timefactor. I'm an analog delay fanatic, but I'll put the Timefactor against any delay. This does tape amazing, but that's it. It's just not worth it.
You need to correct the info you are providing... It does not operate on a higher voltage. The specs are identical between this and the regular model. Plus, it doesn't make a difference whether you use 9 or 12 volts for either model... both regulate 12 volts internally to 9 volts.
ANDY, SHOW US YOUR PEDAL BOARD!!! Lol... This thing sounds awesome, did they give it away already at PGS? Man... I wish I'd won it... I can't afford it otherwise... :'(
it's digital. IMO the memory lane is the winner when it comes to pure analog sounds. But the Superdelay isn't far from there. I'd probably like to have both in one rig because the Superdelays features.
@NickWeiland In general, the new breed of digital pedals that are modeled to sound analog like this one are a really good compromise, offering the flexibility and compatibility of digital with the warmer tones reminiscent of analog. While this pedal won't necessarily "nail" a true analog tone, it's good enough for most people's ears and that's all that matters.
great pedal just got mine a couple weeks ago, its smaller than it looks, my only complaint is the trails function only works in one mode, however you can basically work around that by getting an expression pedal and controlling the mix with it, still it would have been nice to have an additional switch for that so it could work in each mode
Great demo as always Andy. I was thinking, now that you done this many demos and tried more pedals than most of us, it would be very interesting to see what YOUR personal dreamboard would look like :-) (or looks like)
I'm sure, I'm not the only one who has had that thought!! :-)
@br0sely: The TU-2 is not worth getting. The Korg Pitchblack is about $10 cheaper, 100% True Bypass, more accurate by 2 whole cents, has more display modes, you can calibrate it, most people find it easier to read, it's slighly smaller, and its lighter while having the same durability.
So in a nutshell, Boss pedals are not worth getting.
Boss pedals are like marijuanna, an affordable gateway drug into the world of pedals. You'll quickly grow weary of them and look for a better 'high' from better quality pedals like Empress, Fulltone, Devi Ever, Earthquaker Devices and so on...
@br0sely Yeah, and there are better tuners. I do like some of the Keeley mods, they make boss pedals sounds pretty decent. I'm also interested in the Rocket Ride Boss Mods.
It's a nice looking box, but it has a serious volume drop on that looper mode. I'd rather buy a real nice analog delay and a digital delay for the same price.
SOOOOO hard to choose between this sucker and the pigtronix echolution... :( I like the tone of this better, but the options of the pigtronix better... :( DECISIONS DECISIONS!!!!!
Empress or eventide? Playing live which is more usuer friendly on the fly? Great vids!

Andy, are you running this straight in the front of the amp or through an effects loop ?

@flikbone1 - Straight in. We use a Fender DRRi for our vids...no effects loop. Thanks!

Just ordered one from PGS yesterday. Are you using the Tap button to create a sound on sound effect? Does the tap also double as a hold button?

@NickWeiland it is digital. I have one since 2 months ago and i have no regrets. It's great!
