Every once in a while when the exhaust is really hot you can get flames without a BOV. Generally when you rev match and downshift or close the throttle abruptly. Not good for the turbo though.

@gbsons cuz in theory they do. no four cylinder can compare to a v8 with out turbo. v8 have more torque can accomplish way higher hp n/a and in some cases are lighter than fours. but it all depends what your doing. for a track car fours are awesome cuz they accelerate fast and corner great and you don't need a tone of torque and because there not usually alot of straights they don't have to have the top end pull like a v8.

@lurch1489 why can't you guys appreciate all cars. lets take this into consideration a 05 corvette makes 400hp divide thats 50hp per cylinder which is on a 6.0L compared to a evo thats 4cylinder turbo and makes 276 hp which is 69hp on a 2.0L engine. thats 4 liters smaller then the vette.
@gbsons part/part, dollar/dollar a v8 is easier to get power out of i love all cars and all engines but everyone needs to realize that yes a 4 banger can make 1000hp with a giant turbo and all these shiny parts but put all those same parts on a v8 and you will make 2000hp and engine is an engine pick your favorite one or one you have to most access to and modify the shit out of it weather that be a 4cyl or 6 or 8 or 100 it doesnt matter they can all make power if your pockets are deep enough
True, but the problem with that is the AWD in those cars sucks.... not many are "Sedans" MOST V8 AWD's are "SUV's". When the Camaro Comes out in an AWD version we can talk, and BTW the AWD Dodge Charger is very slow and uses a transfer case like a truck, its not direct like a Subaru. This results in Low power and no potential.

@oXaJeN i heard shooting flames LOOKS cool but its a bad thing because the gas is not well compressed therefore, it creates kind of explosion in the exhaust chamber or a chamber and creates flames (gas not burned properly by the engine or exhaust). But looks really coooool ;)

Yeah...which is a sign that BOV's are retarded and make it harder to tune than just a straight recirculating bypass-valve. When I bought my car it had an HKS SSQ and I told the guy I wouldn't buy it with it on there. He removed it, put the stock bpv on, and dropped the price. WIN-WIN.
Every once in a while when the exhaust is really hot you can get flames without a BOV. Generally when you rev match and downshift or close the throttle abruptly. Not good for the turbo though.

@gbsons cuz in theory they do. no four cylinder can compare to a v8 with out turbo. v8 have more torque can accomplish way higher hp n/a and in some cases are lighter than fours. but it all depends what your doing. for a track car fours are awesome cuz they accelerate fast and corner great and you don't need a tone of torque and because there not usually alot of straights they don't have to have the top end pull like a v8.

@lurch1489 why can't you guys appreciate all cars. lets take this into consideration a 05 corvette makes 400hp divide thats 50hp per cylinder which is on a 6.0L compared to a evo thats 4cylinder turbo and makes 276 hp which is 69hp on a 2.0L engine. thats 4 liters smaller then the vette.

@gbsons part/part, dollar/dollar a v8 is easier to get power out of i love all cars and all engines but everyone needs to realize that yes a 4 banger can make 1000hp with a giant turbo and all these shiny parts but put all those same parts on a v8 and you will make 2000hp and engine is an engine pick your favorite one or one you have to most access to and modify the shit out of it weather that be a 4cyl or 6 or 8 or 100 it doesnt matter they can all make power if your pockets are deep enough

True, but the problem with that is the AWD in those cars sucks.... not many are "Sedans" MOST V8 AWD's are "SUV's". When the Camaro Comes out in an AWD version we can talk, and BTW the AWD Dodge Charger is very slow and uses a transfer case like a truck, its not direct like a Subaru. This results in Low power and no potential.

@gund3rt There is still a difference in terms of handling, this car is lighter and was made for "tight turning", where muscles are just all out raw power which is better for straight line such as drag racing
