  • Nice laugh at the end! Makes me smile ))

  • "it takes no courage to kill a man from far away" suck on that modern day soldiers who think they are tough

  • the best japanese story to be made into a movie is "hachi a dog's tale" pure loyalty; they have a statue out side the train station in Tokyo.

  • @ST4leave Im a grown man and that movie brought me to tears.

  • @vamtheanomaly I think we all did.

  • @aclock2 the Japanese dont have much value for human life as their actions in the second world war and occupation of China prove

  • @ChangeYourstatus I heard Japan teaches that they were never in ww2 they were in the pacific war not ww2.

  • dudas, ninjas were an organization of an assassins.first of all they were trained to kill, not to fight like samurai. so they wasnt really trained to attack, but to kill before the enemy can confront them. second, like all of assassins, they were just hired killers and served those who paid them. they maybe had some kind of philosophy , but it wasnt as deep as bushido. of course, as usual, films about ninjas made them something they never was.

  • @Sane658 actually the shinobi-no-mono and the bushi are very similiar. You watch too many movies, alot of the ryu and combat skills practised by the bushi were also practiced by shinobi-no-mono. This is due to the influences, culture and time all being the same. Bushi were not trained to fight, they were trained to defend at whatever cost death included as were the exponents of ninjutsu. They used techniques for war not points in a ring

  • @dan16387 there is no such thing as "defend". every techniques of fight are including defending and attacking. have you ever heard the saying "attack is the best form of defense"? im not gonna say anything about whether their fight style are similiar or not cause i got no idea. but i do know that they were used to very different things.

  • @Sane658 uhm, defend the Bushido champ not their bodies. I assumed you knew what i meant. The codes both follow are very similiar and simplistic, the shinobi no mono would defend the way of the nin/shin and bushi would defend the bushido so on so fourth with collective skills such as iajutsu, battojutsu, kenjutsu, taijutsu etc

  • 0:33 Three rounds a minute Tom? In any weather I assume?

  • To be honest, if i was to select a path, i'd be a ninja.Particularly because

    1: They move fast

2: Because it takes a trained eye to see one in the shadows

3: They can either attack fast, like a samurai probably would or even faster

4: Because being one increases your senses

5: They don't have to go close to kill, they most likely get training for throwing while being a ninja

  • @CascadeFreak You're an idiot lol Ninjas were basically farmers who got mad about Samurai and had to attack like Pussies while Samurai showed honor and integrity

  • @Kayipriest Ok, if i'm an idiot, you prove your facts then, dumbass

  • @CascadeFreak YOu actually think Ninjas werent farmers and peasents?.....kk

  • Over 90% of Ninja were women. Put that in your pipe and smoke it

  • @andrewniles1 WHAT? where do u get ur information from?

  • The Samurai had one weak Point, for my opinion. They were Superstitious (is that the right way to write it) ? The Ninja were not. Like the Bowguilds in the European middle age.Because the poeple in this time couldnt imagine what training can make.Something fly ,must be Witchcraft. You need 10 Years to be good with the bow,Witch or not.And the Samurai thought ,that Ninjas could be invisible or fly or something and the Ninjas used this. " Sure we can fly,we can be invisible too, we are Ghosts"XD

  • This movie to me is spiritual it truly captured the beauty of the samurai life. Hands down my favorite film.

  • @trainofaaron

Actually the Samurai were not very nice to their own people and were very corrupt, which is why Ninjas emerged. Ninjas were the enemy of the Samurai.

  • @eviilhomerr Oh thank you proffesor

  • @eviilhomerr actually ninja where traing person to kill samurais , samurai wasen;t corrupt they got a code of living

  • @eviilhomerr ninjas wer sick of japanese samurai running around china... they didnt care about how the samurai treated anybody but the chinese

  • @101andrewj Ninja were Japanese as well, not Chinese. So you just kinda proved that you don't know what you're talking about (not to be rude or anything, just stating a fact brought on by observation).

  • @fishy14578 ninja had japanese, but was not of japanese origin, and thats a fact

  • how did you get these deleted scenes?

  • This scene is important to comprend de concept of honor for samurai, why he cut this?

  • The real "last samurai" was a Frenchman, his name was Jules Brunet. I wonder why hollywood always bash the French or rewrite history (and if possible, in the same movie)

  • @lakoweb i hate the french, they're all rude

  • @SALENTRAT

A limey hating on France, how surprising.

Seriously, who gives a damn about your perception of the French? I came across a lot of people coming from France through my job. They're not only very nice and friendly, they're also way more down to earth than you Brits and some of my countrymen : they are not cliche-ridden... We are individuals before being nations. I doubt you ever met any French or even left you island, anyway.

  • @SALENTRAT Yes,the only thing you can think of us is surrder.Well we were the ones that have won wars,I'm french,we've had the greeatest armies on europe. Now please go away

  • @12345668587 ok, you keep telling yourself that when the germans mowed through your defenses in the world war. I don't know about the greatest armies but i'm pretty sure england has a pretty good navy, if not the best. Or atleast we did

  • @SALENTRAT England?those good for nothing bastards hate us!They copied French ship designs and modified it,most of England's navy are copied designs. They may have a good navy, but compare to them Rome and you see it,the Romans copied Carthaginian ship designs,so compare us French as Carthage ,and the brits as rome ,You can aslo compare us to the Takeda and the brits as the Tokugawa or the oda.

  • @12345668587 Didn't have to Copy your designs dear , just captured the ships and used them against you .

Anyway , the Spanish Designs were better than either , and we had plenty of those too .

And your ships in WW1 were out of date clunkers , and the WW2 stuff was pretty much designed for the Mediterranean , short on range and poor seaboats out in the Oceans .

  • i hate how they always deleat good and important scenes i mean 2:19 mins extra isnt bad, its just adding a good scene to an already fantastic movie.

  • An American trying to teach a Japanese about the value of human life, very funny.

  • @aclock2 not that funny. in japan a humans life is wirth nothing. contrary to america, which is all about eccentrisim and emotionalism

  • @Szekler11 I wonder how much eccentrisim and emotion it takes to drop bombs on civilians for oil. More like hypocritism and moneylism

  • @aclock2 The sanctity of life is a Western, Christian, concept. To the samurai honor was more important than life.

  • @aclock2 actually he's french

  • @CombatArmsReport

    Yup! Based on Jules Brunet

  • @aclock2 We have good intentions and most of the world later appreciates them. Dont forget that part. Every part of modernization had western or euro influences and its not fair to leave that part out.

  • Obi Wan Ken Watanabe-san

Why did they delete the only scene where Ken is doing something besides praying before the battle?

  • POLSKI !

  • @dorotamaj20 i though those were polish subtitles.

  • is this on a true story, like the charactor that tom played exist?

  • @AnimeLuver70

Not really although it is based on events that actually happened

After the Meji restoration at the end of the Edo period when Saigō Takamori (also known as the last true samurai) fought against the Meji government to restore the samurai class to their former standing. Following the Meji Restoration the Imperial Japanese army was trained by European powers for the most part the most influential being France and Prussia. No Americans were captured during the Satsuma Rebellion.

  • @krispyjc lol thanks, i was wondering cuz i thought maybe the charactor tom played was based on the guy that became the only outsider to become a japanese citizen, cuz i remember hearing of that, so i thought it was kinda baout him lol, that's why i asked ^_^

  • @AnimeLuver70

Yeah if there had to be a person who inspired Cruise's character it would be William Adams who was a English sailor who landed off of Bungo with a hand full of other survivors of what was a disastrous expedition by the dutch east India company. He and nine others were first imprisoned as pirates being accused as such by Portuguese Jesuit priests who saw them as a threat to their cultural monopoly in Japan. Long story short he became a wealthy adviser to Tokugawa. wiki it.

  • @krispyjc

check out the wiki article about Saigo Takamori(real life Katsumoto). the last battle of Saigo against the emperors army is exactly as in the kovie, and there is even an american soldier mentioned there.

the story you described was probably used by James Clavel in his novell Shogun, after which a movie was made(actually four, two hour long movies). portugese, jesuits and those guys are a thing of the past in this movie, about 200, 300 years in the past. cheers =)

  • @krispyjc true, change north americans for Prussians, then you´ll have the real story.

  • @AnimeLuver70 not true.hope it was tho,that'd be awsome

  • skąd wziąłes taka scenę??

  • I don't think this scene was very well written in the context of the movie. For some reason I half expected Katsumodo to chop Cruise's head off for his insolence.

  • @eXcommunicate1979 I think it wasn't insolence so much as Altgren having genuine concern for Katsumodo's men. Katsumodo knew this and knew Altgren was a military leader himself and respected Altgren's emotions he felt towards gun battles.

  • @practicalwhacktical made a mistake sorry, wrong button. My response was directed to Dragon appropriately named.

  • Ken Watanabe should have won the best supporting actor oscar. I think if he's working with anyone but Cruise he would have.

  • This is sucha good scene, its bullshit they deleted it.

  • Ken Watanabe is the BEST!!! =]

  • my favorite scene is in the final battle. The part when Cruise looks to see guns firing away and getting flanked so he tells the messenger to call in Ujio and the reinforcements. Right after Ujio is riding in with the others on the horses scene and you hear them battle cry, (heres my best part of the movie), You see Wantanabe slashing away killing someone and then with the hype of the kill he screams and stomps for Ujio coming in. The look on his face is the amazing part stomping. PRICELESS. lol

  • Damn, Watanabe looks like he had real skill.

  • "you should look into the eyes of your enemy, if you kill him"

  • christlovemins you are a smart man! Ken Wantanbe was the last samurai! him and tom cruise BOTH did an amazing job on this movie! one of my fav films of all time! i cry like a baby watching this movie at several different parts of it,the samurai were a truly remarkable warrior,so much honor,i love it! i have nothing but the highest respect for the samurai and there culture! long live the spirit of the samurai!

  • tgambill really needs to stop spamming this with his little fairytales

  • Good movie.

  • @orangberdosa and you were there 500 years ago to determine what every person might or might not do? i dont htink so. i dont think you ever stepped in a dojo.

  • yes, i've never been in a dojo, i would love one...

  • @peterscoop: Yeah - you tell 'im!! Tell you waht though, if I ever learned kendo I'd be the fattest samurai in history....

  • Kinda awkward scene.

  • Tgambill, do you want to buy my foil hat?

Anyway, be careful dude; the NWO are always watching, and will track you down through their YCCS (Youtube comment crack squad)

If I dont see any more posts from you, then I know its too late...

    Godspeed

  • I didn't know you wrote. I'm still around. The UN has set up shop in Montana. The American Police Force is Serbian and UN all the way. they will have CivPol when the civil war starts and martial law is declared. No tin foil hat, just facts as Americans will soon find out. Of course I will be tracked down. Our fellow watchmen have red and blue spray paint in the front of their houses identifying them for pick up.

  • I think you are genius and should concentrate your efforts of writing the next instalment of the Legend of Zelda. You could call it:

    Occam's Razor, or something?

  • what you clowns don't realize is that serious researchers and those that are really searching for truth, but at first not believing what I'm saying; will research for themselves. What ALL of them will find is that what "WE" write, is the truth as supported by evidence and not what the errant history books say. Then your credibility goes to the bottom of the stack by comparing your lack of evidence and our report of truth as a 8th grader can find in less than 30 minutes.

  • Take it easy fella. Just having a joke with you, as you stood out as someone with a sense of humour. You might find people more receptive if you dont come across so serious and full on.

Anyway, all the best, I dont want to take the Michael.

Hope you find what you're looking for.

  • I've went public against the government and the UN. I've seen the lies and the deception that has murdered people by my own government. I do have a sense of humor, but, when you have been at this for as long as I have you recognize deception and shills. If you are not serious, few will take you serious. Millions are going to die when this conspiracy finally launches. What is being searched for will be found by all on Earth at one time.

  • what does this possibly have anything to do with this movie how bout staying on topic. find a conspiracy video or something and comment till your hearts content. use the youtube search thingy.

  • @burkspatrick gess it was just for the heck of it

  • Well, I don't know how good they are, I prefer a Gilette Razor myself.

  • lol

  • Wow......I found the crazy section....Thorazine anyone?

  • lol

  • They set up the fall of the Samurai to set up for the Japanese and Russian war in order for the Illuminati to set up the assassination of the CZAR's family line. the Masons and the Jesuits, and the Zionist are up to their collective noses to pass it on.

  • In fact, the unknown part of this era was that the Rothschilds sought to destroy the Samurai system, revolutionize Japan in order to set up the Russian/Japanese war in 1904. The agenda was to eliminate the Russian Czar and his entire family line for interfering with the planned invasion of the US mid 1860's. Czar send warships to NY Harbor to stop the European Illuminati invasion.

  • After the Samurai was gone,Japan was funded by one family of Rothschilds while another funded the Russians as well as the Masons inside the US Government. Rothschilds pulled the support from Russia when they needed war materials resupply to ensure the loss.Lenin was funded by the US Government and Rothschild after their loss. This set up the Russian revolution and the lie that the history books say that the Czar was not liked by the Russians which is one of the many lies in our history books.

  • Finally in 1915, Wall Street now, funded the Bolshevik Revolution and in 1928 Wall Street, (Morgan, Prescott Bush, Rockefellers et al), fully funded HITLER through IG Farben. A well laid plan that succeeded, leading to many more after and a world government finally according to them.

  • @tgambill Stop spamming this fucking video.. Jeez!

  • @Dragon22873 lol..it was a year ago I wrote....you sure are touchie aren't you. Touch your little bitty nerve did I? So,

  • @tgambill No, I just noticed how you wrote over 9000 words of bullshit.

  • @Dragon22873 Actually it was still a year ago. Secondly, the information about the NWO is factual and not remotely BS. Soon, as the indicators are presenting themselves the hammer is going to fall. I'll certainly send you the evidence, testimonies, court cases, documentation if you would like. So, if you call it BS, you are spamming if you don't put up. I can put up...can you?

  • @tgambill Be quiet and stop the spam.

  • @Dragon22873 You don't seem to get it, hotshot. I hadn't written anything for one year. Now, you send me some sort of moronic post and expect me to not reply. doesn't work that way, you brought me here now moron, you will have to deal with it. You don't bring me in and then tell me to be quiet. You are the spammer. SO, today Iran and Venesula are announcing a New World Order today...so, bring it on back we can do this all night.

  • @tgambill Stop typing so much.

  • @tgambill its within 500 characters....and you keep shaking the cage. Did you know that there are now two carriers stationed in the area of Iran? Oh, by the way, this movie. The demise of the Samurai was orchestrated by the Rothschilds to set up the Russian/Japanese war and to bring Communism to Russia by 1905 in the first planned Masonic/Illuminati phase of the 20th century. The first step was to industrialize and militarize Japan. Meant getting rid of the Samurai.

  • What a load of crap, it's true what they say, the internet really is the home of conspiracy nuts !!!

  • Wrong....few is any want to see the EVIDENCE they are scared and are afraid of the truth. Its not even close the internet. WE have done research from original writings that go back to 1798 and beyond. There is no conspiracy theory there is only conspiracy fact. Those that Icke, Alex Jones, Michael Moore, Naomi Wolf, Ron Paul are there by the Masons, eastern star and the Jesuits to mislead and deceive people to include Billy Graham, Shueller, Copeland, Hagee, Hagin, Joyce Meyers, all same.

  • I challenge you to disprove what I've said and provide research to refute Anthony Sutton, William G. Carr, Nesta Webster, JFK, Eisenhower, Norman Dodd, Congressman Larry McDonald, Carroll Quigley, Billy Clinton's favorite professor, the list goes and goes.......

  • it's true

  • google it and go to the library without the internet and see for yourself or live in the dark. I find it very interesting that in every single case someone claims "Conspiracy nuts" they Always refuse to see the evidence. If they do say yes, "show me the evidence" then within minutes they discredit all the 8 pages of references? Its called cowardace and denial.

  • And the Rothschild's are secret reptilian overlords served by the Greys and the MIBs. Congress is rife with Grey servants, look on the dollar bill for proof. Oooooo......what a load of utter nonsense.

  • No, the Rothschild for generations have been members of this Luciferian conspiracy. They joined the Masons in 1782 at the Congress of Wilhemsbad establishing a link or marriage between the two orders of the Illuminati and masons. They are human, worship and dedicate their infant children to the services of Lucifer in a sick family ritual. Fact.............Dollar bill is only a tiny part of the proof.

  • it's true

  • :)) they marked us down...but amazing....no Facts to dispute what is written. lol.............The emblem for the American Forces Police is the Scottish Rite, 33rd degree......Albanian flag but most importantly the brotherhood shield of the Serbian coat of arms. UN is here....

  • tom cruise is not the last samurai!!!

  • I can't understand what's the Japanese guy talking.

  • Witaj, gdzie znalazłeś usunięty fragment z polskim tłumaczeniem? Pozdrawiam

  • na płycie DVD z filmem w dziale z dodatkami zapewne, na koniec filmu widać menu z plyty DVD :))

  • Best actor in this film was Ken Watanabe, though Tom Cruise did well in the comic scenes! Doesn't matter if he's a raving madman

  • I agree, Watanabe really brought forth a great addition to this movie.

This was, in my opinion, Cruise's best acting job yet, but Watanabe was by far the best.

  • Takamori Saigo.

Is said by some to be the Real Last Samurai, and there are some who say Oda Nobunaga was the real last samurai.

It had nothing to do with Nathan Algren or anyone like him.

I think people missed the point of the movie. Algren was not the last, he survived to tell the story of Katsumoto.

Emperor " Tell me how he died"

Algren "I will tell you how he lived"

  • can somebody write me, about what they are talking? i understand every 3. word :(

    please :)

  • Algren tells him about the Howitzers and how easily they can kill all Katsumoto's men despite their skill. Katsumoto tells him that death is not the worst thing that could happen, his men still had honor and that they could have a good death. Algren tells him that Honor isn't enough and questions Katsumoto if he values life at all. They share a small joke about how Americans are difficult and that Japanese were merely agreeable and polite.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!! thank you so much :) you are really ncie person :)

  • You're welcome. :)

  • wow thanks man i was about to ask the same question but nowi dont need to. thank you

  • polskie napisy ^^

  • Tom Cruise actually ruined the movie for me. It should have been only Katusumoto.

    But that's hollywood for ya.

  • you are an idiot, the film is awesome

and Tom Cruise made a great performance in this movie

maybe you're one dumb jerk that, say he's not, just because of his religion (from geting to that cienciologist everybody bring into discredit his job as an actor)

That's like saying Hendrix wasn't a great musician because he was a junkie

  • Hey man...."Chill" it's my opinion. This is one of my favorite films of all times....But IMO the movie would have been great without him. The characters in this movie is what made it great "For me" Ujio was awesome for his loyalty as were all others.

And this movie is loosely based on actual events in history minus Tom Cruises part.

I don't give a flying fart what religeon he is...He could be atheist for all I care.

Grow up, and watch who you call idiots and jerks.

  • I wonder how many people would call other people out of there names if they were face to face?

How macho it is to try to offend people, you don't know, nor have ever seen.

    Wow! LOL

  • I wonder the same thing. I think, not many!

The web is crawling with internet 'snipers' who seem primarily interested in belittling others rather than to contributing the general 'exchange'. I seem to encounter my share of these folks...alas!

  • typically politics to remove this scenes

  • this movie is about a country's culture which is Japan, so if u remove Tom Cruise from the movie and bring a japanese actor, it would u show u clearly who was meant to be the last samurai and it would have been a completly 100% japanese movie!

  • they coulda had a chinese dude! woaaa hoo! now there's a twist!

    I should go into movies...

  • some ppl just show u that wen they r watchin a movie they r not listenin or understandin anythin, Katsumoto is the one meant to be the last samurai, haven't u been listenin about all the pain he was sufferin durin the whole movie cuz his ancients protected the country for 900 years and now he fails etc, besides Katsumoto was the one tryin to keep his country the way it always used to be, a samurai country, Tom Cruise was just like the person leadin us to know the last samurai which is Katsumoto

  • The Last Samurai alluded to in the title is Katsumoto, not Tom Cruise. This movie very much parellels Dances with Wolves.

  • i am pretty sure that Tom Cruise was not the last samurai....it raped the history.

  • I think what they meant was that he was the last American samurai.

  • Guns were used by Tokugawa to unify Japan culminating in the Battle of Sekigahra in 1600. Their first guns were imported from the Portuguese and Dutch and then they made their own copies. They were smooth bores not rifles by the way. Guns were outlawed by the Tokugawa Shogunate to maintain social control. Not much point training your whole life to be a samurai when a peasant can be taught to use a gun in 2 weeks. So all you fucktard ninja wannabes need to use your library cards.

  • Actually, some thought it was dishonorable, but the ones who wanted to throw away their swords joined the government. Others had never once touched a gun. Those were the ronin.

  • OMFG!!!! the title is called "the last samurai deleted scene" so comment about the deleted scene!!!! and nothing else. stop fucking talking about everything else except the deleted scene!.

  • awesome ost too..hail hans zimmer!!

  • nice moral story..btw, this film was almost entirely shot in new zealand rite??

ken watanabe is mw favourite, when i watched memoirs of geisha, i still think that he is katsumoto..hahaha...

  • They do bring up a good point about the American civil war. The north did have more industry and rail roads. The south did not wish to submit to the federal government. America as it was meant to be died when Lee surrendered. The rail roads are still controlling us to this day. Welcome to industrialized fundamentalism because that is your new world, or as pink Floyd said. "we told you what to dream"

  • I like the 'Last Samurai'movie

  • DICKS YOUR ALL DICKS

  • Real samurais didn't use firearms cause it was a disgrace. A question. If the only samurai who stayed alive was Nathan (Katsumoto and Ujio were killed), wouldn't that make him the last samurai? I'm just asking not arguing...

  • he wouldnt be, cos people who are given the title and honour as samurai lived by the way through their lives.. there is no proof to show that Nathan Algren did. so we can only be certain that the last samurai is japanese

  • mmm. Yeah that makes sense. The way of the samurai... ''Bushido''. The Bakumatsu was a really chaotic time wasn't it?

  • He wouldn't be Samurai for another reason. He was Gaijin, which pretty much outlawed him from it.

The true story about this wasn't US soldiers though. Horror of horrors, it was the French.

  • Cool. Doesn't make a difference either. If he was french, american or english... he had to learn japanese anyways. Arigato cosaimas ta Katsumoto sensei...soreiga kenjitsu no?

  • Actually, there was one case of a foreigner (Dutch) becoming a samurai.

  • wow did u learn that from Tokyo drift.!!!

  • No, I learned that from my girlfriend who is Japanese and lives in Kyoto. Because I too am Gaijin, her family will not consent to us being married.

  • What happens if you guys get married anyway? Are you in the military? If so, maybe they just don't want to see her disappear to the States. (?)

  • If she were to marry me, then her whole family would disown her. She'd be dead to them, all of them. That's just not something she wants. I'm a historian, studied there for some time before coming home.

  • don't ofend

but your girlfriend family are a bunch of racist

don't want her to be with you just because your from other country

  • Shinobi where firsrt farmers but later specxial trained samurai....

  • I can tell u guys dont know shit about ninjutsu

  • First of all swords were created thousands of years ago before a gun was made and the samurai never use guns they prefer the katana and the small sword i forgot its name.

  • I can tell you dont know shit about japanese history. Samurai used guns when the portugese brought it over in the mid 1500s. The samurai fought a war and won with their swords and later on the felt the swords were dishornable. The short sword your refering to is a wakitashi (middle sword) please do research before debating smart guy.

  • I meant to say guns dishornable not swords

  • samurai didnt use guns learn about samurai and the japanese culture first you fucking dumbfuck

  • Wow you must be retared r u really that stupid? in the 1500s the samurai used guns that were imported from portugal. dud you r a dumb cracker who never researched japans history stupid...later on they stop using guns. samurai even throw bo shuriken I bet u knew that too? u dumb bitch. It amazes me to see how people dont know shit on here
