  • Oh the memories.

  • I could do wheelies like that when i was a kid on my old CCM MUSTANG , they just dont make em like they used to, strong enough to take the abuse of a kid who wanted too be EVIL KNEVIL ! watching this video sure brings back alot of great memories of me and my friends at the gravel pits. thamks for posting this !

  • I too saw this movie when it first came out in theatres.....I still love this movie and have the DVD. I was these kids age, doing bicycle mx with my friends and I could ride a wheelie literally as far as I wanted to do so. I still get a rush when I see this. Bruce Brown, kudos to you.

  • I saw this movie as a kid when it first came out in the theaters! What a great time this was. I loved every minute of it.

  • Man, does this bring back memories! First, when I saw this movie many years ago as a 10 yr. old, I was in awe of those kids -- especially the kid doing the long wheelie. Second, it reminded me of how free we were as kids back then... and there were actual dirt fields to ride our Schwinns.

I would literally watch the clock at school as the minutes would slowly tick by, anticipating the time when I could run home, drop my books and go riding until dusk, when my Mom would call me in for dinner!

  • i think we have lived the same live..same age when this came out..i use to be able to ride a wheelie like the kid also ..for miles on my Stingray..we would take the Bannana seat off ..your not from Utah are you..my father use to put on races just like the ones in the movie...man those were the days

  • Hello onefugowie... great name, BTW :-) Anyway, no I am from CA. (Los Angeles), but I think any kid back then with a bicycle, was racing on a dirt field somewhere in the US... Those were great, innocent, non-litigious times... as we were allowed to ride our bikes without helmets and pads -- Oh, God forbid! :-)

  • thanks for the reply..i thank God to have lived as a child in the 70's they realy were the times to be a kid..i fill it in my heart everytime i hear that song..i was racing bikes when the movie came out and remember going with my dad to see it..great time's...

  • Amen to that... Great times, indeed! I loved the 70s as a kid!

  • It's amazing -- the boys aren't wearing helmets, hard plastic body armor, or (most likely) cups! Ah, back when there was such a thing as childhood, and before the days when lawyers couldn't advertise and actually had to chase ambulances.

  • excellent
