Oh--I saw the mnemonic device below (Every Acid Dealer Gets Busted Eventually)--LOVE it. 15 years ago, when I was learning this stuff, the first series of words that came to me stuck...Even Angry Dogs Get Better Eggs...(wtf??)--point is, think of a mnemonic for the EADGBE and you'll never forget.

I learned exactly like this a LONG time ago, and out of laziness, never bothered with many "real" chords. I really regret being limited to bar chords. This is great, but yall who are just learning, get the THEORY and learn your notes, and learn to read music (tabs are ok, but actually reading music helps SO much). This is great, though--think of it as a kick-start to playing, not the end all. While you learn the harder stuff, you can basically manage to play along with most rock/country songs

I hear a lot of people say that to play guitar you need long slender fingers, and I have short thick fingers.

If this is true, is there any surgery I could have done to change the shape of my fingers? I am begging to play guitar but many cords, like the bar cords, they are impossible for me to because my fingers just are too short.

You just need to find your own way of playing certain chords (like barre) and you'll be fine. ANYONE can play guitar, ill say it again .... you dont need surgery to play it .... Or you can try buying a child's guitar. Far inferior sound quality but it'll be good to learn. Maybe a ukelele :P

Yeah, you'll break your string if you don't litsen close enough or your a dumby. lol But you can buy an auto tuner at your local music shop for less than 10 bucks. So that is probably the best option. :] js
