  • You people are too stupid to understand how useful this could be when applied to the right "project"

  • Like if you thought of crona's black blood.

  • This is a great product I hope it finds some practical uses on the market

  • @maakjar

    such as what?

what use does silly puddy with metal shavings have???

  • Lol thumbs up if you had to watch it twice to even see the hammer hit :P

  • omg it's d3o!

  • Non newtonian liquids are fun!

  • dumb video

  • Why did you not just do a second "take" without someone standing exactly to block the light that would've allowed this demonstration to be VISIBLE? Really strange and pointless upload.

  • I admire your charitable impulses in hiring blind people to do the lighting and camerawork... but do you think you could restrict your YouTube video uploads to things that can actually be *seen*?

  • weiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdddddddddddd

  • nice video!

btw, did someone turn on a computer with ubuntu right at the beginning of the video? lol

  • where can i buy Shear-thickening fluid or you have to make it?

  • non Newtonian fluid

  • Its called a SHADOW

  • Is this a non-newtonian fluid?

  • Would it be...bulletproof?

  • is this the "stuff" they are using in bullet proof jackets now? just curious.

  • @JBOTTSIOWA and @ YTMbrianpeppersND I don't think so, the velocity of the bullet would slam right through it. As you saw in the video, the hammer left a dent. At over 200 mph or so, it wouldn't be able to hold up.

  • @Burntshmallow yah but there's a fluid that stops bullets, look it up, I wasn't sure if this was it or not

  • @Burntshmallow This non newtonian does not stop bullets but if you treat a fabric with this stuff it will.

    watch?v=LlEo5MbcaX0

  • @Awesnap Well, yes, I suppose that would also make sense, but I was talking about the fluid alone.

  • what the fuck

  • I used that stuff on my roof last winter :P

  • You don't show that its a liquid, its probably just plastic or rubber. You should have run your finger or something through it to show its a liquid.

  • looks like SKIFIDOL SLIME

  • looks like venom from spiderman... BEWARE!

  • it looks like hammered shit XD

  • Not this material, but a different one.

  • I have updated the description for this video. Please refer to it if you have any questions.

  • thinkgeek [dot] com [slash] geektoys [slash] cubegoodies [slash] 5ac8 [slash] detail

You LITERALLY took the description from the Smart Mass ThinkGeek page. All you did to "make it your own" was omit any time they said Smart Mass in the text. Way to be creative...

  • Your Bat senses serve you well. Too bad echolocation didn't point out the thinkgeek citation at the end of the description. Better luck next time...

  • The Riddler has perplexed the Bat once again. The world's greatest detective will one day stop Edward Nigma for the final time. When that day comes, be ready.

  • @BatmanTheSmiter Pwned

  • @BatmanTheSmiter

    Holy Shit!

    Two Sheldons...

  • hmm i understand what happened there. nowt

  • As you can see, you can see nothing.

  • What? That didnt make any sense.

  • Exactly.

  • oh ok then.

  • ya its non newtonian fluid

  • How is that a liquid? It never moves

  • wtf was that

  • whats the point?

  • it black silly putty

  • it is oobleck cornstarch and water mixed with black dye here it is "non-newtonian" if you hit it hard it is solid if you barely put and pressure its is liquid like water so a hammer makes its impact so hard it looks solid like a rock try to make some then say if this is a solid blob

  • oobleck is cornstarch and water

  • I dont kno wat it is but its not what you think it is cause the cornstarch and water turns to free flowing liquid if u let it just sit there.

  • that doent look like much of a fliud it looks like a piece from the black suit in spider man

  • @attackblow that would be called a "symbiote"

  • Lol, I had to freeze frame the hammer impact and even then it was a blur. The give away here is the impact mark shows up after the impact. It woulda been kewl if 'ya coulda shown the liquidy state before the hit and ran the whole thing in sloooow mo.

  • C'mon....its a solid blob.

  • THAT suck`s

  • do you not see what this is demonstrating?

  • yes its demonstrating how crap this video and youtube is for allowing it to go in YT. (no i think its like a liquid solution of water and corn flour bcuz what happens with that its it stays a liquid till you apply force or energy. and some custards ar corn flour based so the myth of "walking on custard" is not so mythical at all.)

  • OMG! you seriously need to tight'n your butt-cheeks, and realize that people dont believe you!! that 'thing' is not liquid, and after you hit it with the hammer, there is a very clear mark after the impact. so get the fuck out of youtube!!

  • the mark dissappeares right after you see it.

  • Please look to science before making a public idiot out of yourself. This is a liquid. It's very viscous, and stiffens on impact. Now I must go to se why cayotes are in my neighbor's lawn.

  • Please look up "Non-Newtonian Fluids."
