I'm lucky to have the original LP and play it from time to time, great clean jazz. It's a pity that some of the commentators here can only appreciate the non melodic garbage put out by 'So Called' bands at +200dB. They also lack the skills to comunicate without resorting to foul language and using the 'F' word at every opportunity, it just shows how ignorant they are.

I remember getting into this song in the fall of 1985 in Johnstown, PA. I had images of Washington, DC in 1961, with the streetcars and all that. I also remember that Raymond Burr had mentioned Dave Brubeck as an artist he liked in "Perry Mason." The music has held up incredibly well after 50+ years. What is not to like about this song?!?

My Dad was a huge jazz fan. Jimmy Smith, Miles Davis, Booker T & The MG's, etc. Told me about this song years ago. It always amazed me that the name of the piece is Take Five and it is just over " five " minutes long! Cool, cool song.

As an avid music lover, I try to appreciate the sheer creation of music in whatever form it comes. My tastes are personally eclectic, but that's me. I find it really unfortunate when one genre of music is held above the rest, that's not what the music is about. Music just wants to be heard.
