I cry every time I hear this song. My father was never there for me. Part of me thinks he hated me. When I was little he used to sing this song to me and told me how much I meant to him, but after all that, he still did so many things to hurt me and my mom. One of my best friend's father passed away when she was young and she cries to this song too and she tells me that atleast I have a dad. But I tell her that atleast your father cared and didn't choose to leave,my father left and didn't care.

@GirlCountry19 thats such a shame... my dad and i have not had the best relationship, when i got married i didnt even want him to give me away. now our relationship is getting better over time and im glad he did give me away. i wish we had a relationship like this song but you can only try to make it better from where you are the moment. god bless you and your father and i hope he brings you both together again.

I cry every time I hear this song. My father was never there for me. Part of me thinks he hated me. When I was little he used to sing this song to me and told me how much I meant to him, but after all that, he still did so many things to hurt me and my mom. One of my best friend's father passed away when she was young and she cries to this song too and she tells me that atleast I have a dad. But I tell her that atleast your father cared and didn't choose to leave,my father left and didn't care.

My father Dedicated this song to me when I was younger.....this song makes me cry every time i her it. I didn't grow up with my father, because he couldn't be here for me. He was a soldier, killed in the war...he won't get to see my sweet 16, Or be at my wedding. I spent so much time resenting him, now I feel horrible. Remember, you don't know what you have untill it's gone. Well im going to stop now, i can't see through my tears. Pathetic...I know :(

This song reminds me of my grandfather, he was always there for me<3 It's been 6 years since he passed away, but he's still here for me. He told me always would be<3 My dad left when I was born because I wasn't a boy. But I love, and will always love my grandfather.. Like he said, he'll always be a star at night<3
