  • I'm in love!! Beautiful quality!

  • We want time machine!

  • Thanks for sharing. I'm 33 years old and this brought a tear to my eye!

  • Sitting there and smoking pot. Would love that!

  • The redneck bar-room band in the movie 48 hours was a great parody of the Lynyrd Skynyrd type of southern rock bands, the Spinal Tap of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

  • It's maximum triple guitar twanger attack with the least amount of notes necessary. All you idiots who learn to play a million notes but not how to say anything, take note.

  • ...this was the anthem of the 70's! Concerts aren't like this anymore.... what great memories!

  • 11 people are in a cage.

  • I was born in the wrong year AND the wrong country.... :(

  • The concert of my dreams : The Who, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Lynyrd skynyrd, The stones, PURE FUCKING ROCK, a shame I was born too late!

  • Hello to whoever sees these comments. Seen a lot of rock since '67 and sorry I never saw these guys live. Just outstanding. Thanks.

  • Before the show...The "OTHER BANDS" were warned to stay off the "HUGE TONGUE" in that it was reserved for "THE STONES...Ronnie Van Zant being the Rebel he was instructed Collins, Rossington and Gaines out on the Tongue and the burned the joint down...Afterwards they hung out with Jack Nicholson while the Stones didn't come on until almost midnight...

  • @SteveGaines Where was this concert and when? good for skynyrd In my opinion i think the Stones suck ass and are way over rated, this is just awesome watched some other vids from this same show and skynyrd sound fucking great, seen some stones live videos not by choice have u and they always sound like shit, jaggers lyrics are just a bunch of fucking jibberish!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheShitfobrains Knebworth,, England....1976.....

  • @SteveGaines wow england!!!!!, thats awesome

  • @SteveGaines Skynyrd didn't care, they kicked ass with that solo, and they would of kicked jagger's ass if he would've had something to say about.

  • Ronnie Van Zant was struck in the head and knocked out and basically smothered to death when the mass of bodies piled on top of him in the crash according to Gene Odom...

  • ahhhh those where the days........ need I say more ;-)

  • i miss the 70"s...such a simpler time

  • @warty2200 What year did it happen?

  • PLEASE REPLY Who all died in the crash, I don't know their names so say bassist or singer and stuff like that

  • @chilibro Lead Singer Ronnie Van Zant 1:00, Guitarist Steve Gaines (on the right in white 6:37, Cassie Gaines back-up singer, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, pilot Walter McCreary and co-pilot William Gray

  • At some point in the solo I was struck by an urge for cocaine like never before. So awesomely over the top.

  • Outstanding. No words for describe it! Poor guitars, I do not know how not split in half with this colossal interpretation.

  • i wasnt even born yet but i wish i could of been there live simply amazing

  • One of the best sounds ever heard.

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd were a band of gods. Now they're a band of some gods. RIP Allen Collins and Ronnie van Zant - heroes of real music.

  • I saw them Sunday #2 Mile High Stadium 1976 Ronnie wearing a Neil Young tee shirt. They ROCKED!

  • you had to deal with cords in those days

  • Famus lynyrd skynyrd picture at 4:10

  • How does an outdoor concert... with1976 technology... sound better than outdoor concerts today ???

  • @deepthreat Becous of those pevey amps

  • @deepthreat ....talent

  • @slotdp @smallengines409 I think it goes beyond talent and equipment. There are talented guys today and better equipment. They just CLICKED.

  • BEST SOUTHERN ROCK BAND that has ever existed. And yes, I was right in the middle of this era and you couldn't beat the best music and the best of times........wish I could go through that music period again......do it in a heartbeat!!!!!

  • Não conhecia este vídeo..... muito maneiro, melhor que o de 1977...

  • I was just a young child when this concert was going on...but oh what I wouldn't give to have been there that day! I can only imagine what they would've sounded like in person because just hearing it thru my headphones is enough to get me all torn up! Can't believe yesterday Ronnie would've been, what, 64? RIP Ronnie, Steve, Cassie, and the rest, and love, peace, and prayers to your families...

  • Happy Birthday Ronnie

  • I much prefer this version to the 12 minute version from 1977. You can hear the music without the annoyance of the constant yelling from the crowd.

  • back when u really got your money's worth for a concert, were these guy's spectacular or what

  • A local radio DJ here in Houston was in possession of a guitar that Allen Collins gave him...he is selling it...I hate him...

  • Ronnie Van Zant was not a drug addict. The song "that smell" is a warning to other people not to get involved with alcohol and drugs.

  • @caralittleless Rossington wrote it after he crashed his new car into a tree.

  • Love the song, hate damn dirty hippies. How high was everybody, especially Van Zant

  • I was there,still here,what an Amazing Day,+10cc+Stones

  • NEVER STOP LOVIN JESUS

  • Two words can describe this song : Allen Collins

  • Whoever wrote this guitar piece instantly gained GOD status

  • @LordGandor3 Allen Collins and his Gibson Firebird.

  • @LordGandor3 No, God wrote it. They just played it because he told them to.

  • @LordGandor3 I'm I'm not mistaken, that was Allen Collins, who was unfortunately paralyzed in the plane crash. Rest in Peace Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, Dean Kilpatrick, Walter McCreary and William Gray

  • @TIRrocketry No, Allen went on to form "The Rossingtongton Collins Band" (look it up on here, great stuff). Allen was paralyzed in a car wreck a few years later.

  • I need a time machine!

  • The Stones sponsered the show and didn't want anyone playing down on the tongue part of the stage. That's why he pulled them down towards the crowd. They were like , Dude we can't play down here. Skynyrd ruled the day.

  • the guy in the red is allen collins,a hell of a guitar player n he did not die in the plane crash..

  • 4:49 CCR drummer Doug Clifford???

  • 4:45 singer motioned for the other guys to come down the runway, and then down they come! But notice the bass player eagerly running along with the guys when he stops short when he realizes his cord isn't long enough to make it all the way...hahaha classic oops moment

  • @Shagjaur uhmmm allen collins died in 1990 from phenomia

  • @Shagjaur No he didn't , he was in a bad car accident , confined to a wheelchair and died a few years later. Look it up.

  • Be Proud you're a Rebel, The Allman Brothers Band ,Lynyrd Skynyrd , OUTLAWS, Charlie Daniels Band , Marshall Tucker Band

  • Thus, the universe was created.

  • OOHHhhh Yehhhhh. I remember that clip so well. I was 18 growing up in Australia with ACDC/ Kiss/ Black Sabath/ Led Zeplin. And one morning on a pop tv show the girl announcer said that they were going to show a song from a group from America called Lynyrd Skynyrd and Free Bird. She said she didn`t like the song before they played it, and they played this exact clip. I so vividly remember the long walkway. It totally blew my mind. Thanks so much for Youtubing it.!!!

  • I Hope; that our union will never breaks

  • I got to see em in '76 in San Antonio.......killer..

  • In the beginning this crowd had no idea what the hell was about to happen.

  • @FastPonyGT history was about to take place and they didn't even know it.

  • @FastPonyGT They were about to be assaulted by the greatest three-axe attack EVER!!! Long Live Lynyrd Skynyrd and Free Bird!!!

  • @FastPonyGT Many minds were collectively blown.
