  • Oh btw: what's the HP and BP on that tug?

  • @BelgianEvo Hi, the one you see in the video is the tystie, her hp is 5760 if i remember rightly, the one i'm on is the bonxie and her hp is 8040.

  • @towingwizzard1 : Hi there, what are the bollard pulls on those? I presume they are Voith Tractors?

  • @BelgianEvo yea, they are voith tractors, 6 in the fleet at the moment, the two oldest are the shalder and tirrick bollard pull of them is 45 t. then the dunter and tystie, they are 55 t, the newest ones are bonxie and solan, they have a bollard pull of 70t (but can do more!)

  • That is indeed some serious wind ! Why aren't there any waves? Too small water to get them to build up, or did the wind just started to blow?

  • @BelgianEvo this was in the harbour, only about a lucky mile of "fetch" for waves to build, the wind had come up quite quickly though, we push up on the tankers when it comes a blow from inside the line of the ships, ie, blowing off the jetties.

  • @towingwizzard1 :Good thing you were only a mile from shore :) If waves had a few miles to build up with that wind they would have been pretty big by then. I like such weather :-) I prefer it above foggy weather at all times

  • @BelgianEvo yea, i agree with you there, nice big swell over fog any day.
